There is a Physician who knows every wound of your heart — and He heals through His Word. Great Physician is a free app from The Kiln Ministries that serves as your interactive guide through God's Word. At its heart is your companion — Barnabas or Lydia — who walks alongside you, illuminating Scripture and two thousand years of the church's wisdom to point the way to Jesus Christ, the true healer of the human heart. **Honest about the technology — and not what you expect** Your guide's counsel is built on a special kind of AI — one that searches and synthesizes sound biblical truths from across two thousand years of church history, from Augustine to Jay Adams. It does not invent answers or speak from nowhere. It uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): when you bring a question, it draws on a curated library of Scripture and trusted Christian writings, then responds with guidance grounded in those sources. The result is insight that is consistent, faithful, and anchored — never untethered opinion. **What your guide helps you walk through:** • Relationship and marriage conflict • Anxiety, worry, and fear • Depression and hopelessness • Anger and a quick temper • Addiction and habitual sin • Grief, loss, identity, and purpose **Meet Barnabas and Lydia** Barnabas and Lydia are two names for the same Scripture-saturated companion — choose whichever you'd like to walk with; the counsel and voice are the same. Barnabas is named for the New Testament "Son of Encouragement" (Acts 4:36); Lydia, for the faithful woman of Philippi whose heart the Lord opened (Acts 16:14). Warm but honest, your guide speaks the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) — never only what you want to hear, but what you need to hear from God's Word. Your guide leads with grace and Scripture, always pointing to the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you are not yet a believer, your guide will lead you to the gospel first — because the Great Physician heals those who know their need of Him. When you need more than an app can give, your guide can connect you with a human biblical counselor. **Drawn from the historic voice of the church:** Your guide draws from Scripture and a curated library spanning the early church, the Reformation, the Puritans, and the great pastoral tradition that followed — Augustine, Bunyan, Owen, Spurgeon, Edwards, and trusted modern voices. **A note of honesty:** Great Physician is not a replacement for the local church, a pastor, or in-person care. It is a tool to help you begin the journey toward biblical change. We will always encourage you to connect with a pastor or counselor in your community and to sit under faithful pastoral care. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline immediately. Great Physician is offered free of charge as a ministry of The Kiln Ministries. If this app has helped you, consider supporting the ministry through a donation. ## Key features - Biblical AI-powered guidance - Scripture and church history synthesis - Counsel on relationships and mental health - Interactive companion (Barnabas/Lydia) - Connection to human biblical counselors - Grounded in trusted Christian writings ## Frequently asked questions about Great Physician ### What is GreatPhysician?
