It sometimes deletes your saved lists, sometimes crashes. ### 3/5 — It is what it is *2018-08-06, version 8* Works well as a partial list. However the "to do list" only works in the android version and not the IOS version. The site claims the map is not yet available. If not now then when?! The links react differently on three different phones. On some no link to fav. beer. For example, searching for "three floyds" shows the correct icon but clicking it redirects you to the "3 Sheeps" page. Great Taste appears as an iPad app in the App Store and downloads and installs...but when launched, you see the splash screen for an instant, and then a black, blank screen. Disappointing, since we'll be there tomorrow, and I was hoping to develop a plan for prioritizing beer tasting before we hit the grounds. ### 1/5 — Well??? *2013-08-06, version 2.0* It's now only 5 days before the next Great Taste, and still no app update? It crashed a bunch for me when I first installed it, but uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the problem. They Didn’t fix it before the fest. ### 1/5 — 2025 Version-Not That Good *2025-08-06, version 13* It’s Wednesday before the brew fest and the functionality is incomplete. The only area in the app the has all the info is the list of beers. Some of the styles are missing, the collaboration station is missing in the booths. And with these missing you really can’t create a personal list. The Android app though works, so I guess I’ll be bringing my work phone. ### 1/5 — Deleted to do and saved beers day of event *2019-08-13, version 8.2* I went through and looked up all beers I was interested online and saved the highly rated beers. I checked again the day before event and was fine. Day of event the app logo changed and everything I saved was totally gone. Hours of work for nothing. The good news is the actual event was still awesome. ### 1/5 — To-do function is useless *2017-08-12, version 7.0* I'd love to use this app, but sitting beside someone using the Android version makes it clear that the iOS version is nearly worthless in comparison. Adding a beer to the to-do list is done via the per beer share button, so it's *possible* but it's so cumbersome I'm not going to bother. ### 1/5 — Data issues *2016-08-13, version 6.1* The night before the fest and breweries are showing up in the list three and four times. It's like they loaded the data over the top of the old data instead of clearing the old first. ### 1/5 — Great idea - Never really works out *2016-08-11, version 6.1* Because of the rush to get this out so close to the event, it's never thoroughly tested by festival goer type people. All kinds of bugs are found and attempted to be corrected in another mad scramble in the hours-days prior and if you spent any time going through the lists of hundreds of breweries or 1000+ beers and thought you were going to be able to use the favorites function or "live" map...forget it. Great for an alpha list of things but the nice printed lists do that just fine and will ultimately be what you use. If you do try this you should wait until late the evening prior to get a cleaner download when there have already been many attempts to fix it. ### 1/5 — This App Licks. *2016-08-11, version 6.1* Still broke ### 1/5 — Today's update crashed *2015-08-03, version 5.0* The update from June finally fixed the bug and allowed ratings to be retained. This was a feature the has been absent since last year and was greatly needed/appreciated! I use the app when visiting/drinking any Midwest micro-brew. However, today's update overwrote my database with a zero content app. There are not beers, breweries, styles available. Please tell me years of drinking data is not lost! ### 1/5 — Just, garbage *2014-08-07, version 4.0* If you can get it to run without crashing for 5 minutes, you're lucky. Search feature (pretty important...) is broken. I downloaded this newbie on an iPad 2 just fine, but it crashes after the logo appears each and every time. Thanks! I love being able to search by style - now I can go straight to the kinds of beers I like without wandering around (which is fun too). The update crashed on me the first time I ran it, so I removed it and reinstalled and it seems to be behaving nicely now. There is a ton more data in there than last year too! ### 5/5 — Great app! *2012-08-10* I was having major crashing problems, but deleting the app and reinstalling fixed everything. Great for pre-fest planning and during the fest. My main critic is making it more valuable post-fest. For example, I’d love to easily find the beers I rated while there. In hindsight I could have added them to my to do list, but having a separate filter/sort option just for viewing my ratings post fest to figure out the beers I’d want to buy, drink again, or avoid.
