### 5/5 — Simple and clean

*2025-10-01, version 1.4.4*

I like this app because it is uncluttered and has a clear objective. Also appreciate the incorporation of vocab lists of various textbooks so you can adapt it. Too bad I’m using an old Machen edition!

### 5/5 — One of the best

*2025-09-12, version 1.4.4*

Easy to use and I love the swipe up feature to view the gloss. That is so much better than flip cards.
Very well designed and the learn by textbook option makes it a great tool no matter which book you use. The pictures haven’t been added to that part yet but hopefully will be.
And the icing on the cake would be an option to hear different pronunciation systems - Modern, Reconstructed Koine and perhaps even Lucian.
Highly recommend this app, you won’t be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-08-16*

I am a rookie in learning koine greek and have found this app to be very helpful. I especially like that you can key the vocabulary to any of a number of textbooks including the one I am using.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the 5 star ⭐️ review! Greatly appreciated.

### 5/5 — Great for vocabulary acquisition

*2025-05-28, version 1.4.4*

The app is very helpful for learning Greek words based on frequency. I would really like if you could divide the frequency by New Testament book or chapter. But it’s great and well worth the purchase!

### 5/5 — Very handy app!

*2025-05-08, version 1.4.4*

I can make progress on my Greek with ease! It’s always easy to use and available.

### 5/5 — The update you’ve been waiting for!

*2025-05-07*

This already wonderful app now includes chapter vocabulary for the Greek For All course (best course ever made!) as well as for many other course book. This app is a must have!

**Developer response:** Greatly appreciated!

### 5/5 — Best app to learn NT Greek vocabulary

*2025-05-06, version 1.4.4*

Having the textbooks’ vocabulary is great. Very helpful in my class. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Great start

### 5/5 — Excellent App for Learning Greek

*2025-03-31, version 1.4.3*

This is an excellent app. Highly recommended. What would make it even better is to have an example verse that includes the vocab word along with the illustration and pronunciation (like Mounce’s FlashGreek).

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2025-03-29, version 1.4.3*

Don’t hesitate to buy this app. Enjoyable to use and it really helps you to learn. Top quality.

### 4/5 — Good Mnemonics

*2025-03-11, version 1.4.3*

By looking only at the pictures I am connecting the Greek words directly to a concept without having to translate them to or from English.
Testing my vocabulary with other flashcard apps require me first to read an English word, then think what it refers to, then think of the related Greek word. The pictures are more direct and make memorisation more vivid for me.

The only improvement I would like would be for the app to remember which words I find difficult so that I could select cards based on difficulty, not just frequency and word type.

### 5/5 — Better than Mounce

*2025-02-11*

Well worth the few dollars, skip buying a coffee out this week and do not hesitate to buy this app instead. You will benefit immensely by the unique algorithm used to integrate your vocab words.

### 5/5 — Super

*2024-10-29*

Super, um die Vokabeln zu lernen!👍😊

### 5/5 — Best koine vocab app out there

*2024-10-08, version 1.4.3*

The brilliant, memorable illustrations instantly make the words more memorable!

### 5/5 — EZ Greek

*2024-10-05*

Excellent idea having vocabulary with me all the time and the execution is dead on. Having a visual accompanying the word a better way to learn. I also find the pictures humorous and well drawn. Stan put a lot of thought and effort into this project, that’s probably why no one less has anything similar. Thank you Stan, you are a true blessing

**Developer response:** Happy to serve! Thanks for the rating and encouraging words in your review.

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2024-09-12*

I really appreciate how many of the cards have images & pronounce the words for you. Being able to say it back & try to tie the word to an image helps with learning the material.

**Developer response:** Much appreciated! Thank you for your rating and the feedback!

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2024-07-31, version 1.4.3*

This app is fantastic. Learning Koine Greek vocabulary finally made easy.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2024-04-12, version 1.4.3*

Good way to improve your vocabulary.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2016-09-01, version 1.0*

The technology seems to work okay but it presents you with a stack of at least 50 or so flash cards and works you through them. This is way too much. But needs to let you create a stack of a few and then slowly add to it. The picture aspect is nice but presenting me with such a large stack was way to scary.

### 2/5 — No sound?

*2023-05-03, version 1.3*

I am excited to learn Koine Greek and thought this would be a wonderful way for me to practice vocabulary but I need the word pronounced for me and there’s no sound. I’m reinstalling the app. Hopefully that will work. Thanks!

### 2/5 — Hmm?

*2019-06-09*

So as it turns out, this app literally does no-thing. By that I mean a picture opens and that is it, three offset in the upper left hand corner buttons, no cards, no testing, no thing. Zero, zilch, nada. Never bought a picture sold as an app for $6.00 before.

Update: the problem is that the start button is hidden and needs to be scrolled to. This would be ok except that only about 40% of the screen real estate is being used so scrolling to a hidden button should be unnecessary, and there is of course no intuitive need to try and scroll for the very same reason. Clearly if there was more to see, it would be visible in all that white space.

Nice idea, poor execution of the viewport.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. It is appreciated.
I was in the process of switching developers so the app had no support in early months of 2019. With new developing team the app is fully supported.
The newest update last December fixed all the problems and the app is fully compatible to all iPhone models.
Thank you for your understanding.
Enjoy the app.

### 3/5 — Seems useful

*2026-04-06, version 1.4.9*

I could see this being useful, assuming all the pronunciations are correct.

However, I’m a little disappointed that I can’t copy the word. I like to post it into ChatGPT to get a breakdown.

Yeah, this is kind of a deal breaker for rapid learning. If you can’t even look up the word easily, how are you supposed to learn quickly?

Another problem is I can’t really tell if my iPad and my iPhone version are syncing their data in anyway.

### 3/5 — It could do with a Picture to Greek mode.

*2023-12-22, version 1.4.3*

I would give this app 5 stars if it had a mode where the first thing shown in learning mode was the picture, with the Greek text hidden, to which the reader would have to recite the Greek word before uncovering it, then uncovering the lexical meaning if needed.

A picture-to-Greek word association is a far more powerful method for learning. I found that if I covered up the Greek word manually and then tried to recite the word that the picture was associated with, it was much harder. The picture just provides cognative clues to what English readers know is the lexical meaning, when our brains should be wiring the picture to the Greek λέξις.

All the basic elements are available should the developer decide it's a change worth pursuing; it just needs some coding work.

### 3/5 — Update problem?

*2023-07-11*

This app is great and simple and have used if for a year or so but a recent update made it so I can’t access everything or scroll down on the “Learn”>”Segments to Study”. Is anyone else having this problem?

**Developer response:** The issue has been fixed. We'd appreciate if you adjust your rating. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Audio doesn’t work!

*2022-01-08, version 1.3*

App seems useful but the audio doesn’t work for me!

### 3/5 — Eh

*2019-09-06, version 1.2*

Not very compatible to iPhone. Doesn’t say the words or help you properly pronounce them. The flash cards are great but this app needs some TLC

### 3/5 — Hit vgsurfread

*2016-08-14, version 1.0*

1- i wish the app said the words.
2- I wish the app had a next and a back option, so that I could practice a couple words then go back to a word Im working on.

### 4/5 — Misleading a bit

*2025-08-19, version 1.4.4*

If you select to learn vocabulary, in one selection is days 97 words. However, when learning with the flashcard method, you need to take into consideration “repetition”. I can’t go through 97 words once, then do it over and over again to learn. I need to do 10 words in that group of nouns, to learn repetitively, then move on to another block of 10 words in the same group of nouns. There is no option to go back or to choose blocks of 5 or 10 words. There is no option to scroll backwards as well. Please explain if there is a way to do this in the app.

Looking online at the website I am confronted with a few apps offering several things. I was under the impression that this app would have flash cards, as it’s in the graphic with the name, but I am unable to see any reference to flash cards. Looking at the other apps that this company offers, I see there seems to be an app dedicated to flash cards, unless I’m mistaken. When looking at products to buy, it would be ideal if they would describe one, two, or three types of apps they are selling to allow the buyer to choose the appropriate app for the specific need. This is still a good app, but I feel somehow “miss-directed” into choosing which app to purchase. I am still confused so I will look at the website to see what other apps are needed. Considering the price paid, I would assume this should be a premium app with all the features advertised for £8.99…not only some features such as vocabulary. If I am mistaken please reach out and I’ll happily change my review to reflect what is actually being sold on this app.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-07-26*

I absolutely love this app. I have been casually learning Greek for the last few years and I'm now at the point where I can read the gospels and understand them.

But now I have a request/suggestion. The learn by textbook addition is very valuable. It would be great if you could add other vocabulary lists based off of other books that are popular to read for people learning Greek. Starting with Xenophon's Anabasis and going through Plato, Herodotus, Thucydides, and even Homer. These would be great as in app purchases and would be totally worth paying for. These vocab lists are already available online so it shouldn't be that hard to add them.

I know this app is more aimed at New Testament Greek, but this would really help people like myself who are starting with Koine and plan to work their way back to Attic and eventually Homeric Greek.

Thanks again!

### 5/5 — Best Koine Greek App On The Market

*2026-07-15, version 1.4.10*

The only thing missing is a vocabulary by book of the bible, if I wanted to focus on the gospel of John for instance. ButI love the inclusion of all the Greek textbooks. Such a helpful and clean UI.

### 5/5 — Great NT Greek Vocab App

*2026-06-27, version 1.4.10*

This is the best Koine Greek vocab app that I’ve used. The vocab by word frequency and by a large selection of grammars is excellent.Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Seminary Student

*2026-06-15, version 1.4.10*

It almost feels like a game that keeps my Greek sharp as a seminary student. Thank you for doing this!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-04-08, version 1.4.9*

Top quality app - Stan is an excellent teacher and this app supplements that teaching well. It is fun to use and dedicating 10 mins a day will really help your Greek vocab.

### 5/5 — Just what it needs to be and does it well

*2026-02-24, version 1.4.4*

### 5/5 — great tool

*2026-02-08, version 1.4.4*

this is the best greek biblical vocabulary app

### 5/5 — Extremely Useful

*2026-01-13*

This is the best Greek app I have used for learning vocabulary. Not only is this app great, but the online Greek course that is offered in conjunction with this is the best I have ever taken. I have paid thousands of dollars for Greek classes at seminary, but this class was by far the best, and a fraction of the cost. I was able to have a good working knowledge of Koine Greek, in three months, which allowed me to read the book of 1 John with minimal assistance. I can’t recommend this enough!

### 5/5 — Very helpful!

*2025-11-30, version 1.4.4*

Excellent resource for learning Greek vocabulary

### 5/5 — A lifesaver

*2025-11-18, version 1.4.4*

This app has been a great way to get consistent vocab exposure to these words.
