## What is Greek Island Streets?

The old towns of the Greek islands were built as mazes — that's the magic, and the problem. In the Kastro of Naxos, big-name maps show alleys that don't exist and miss the ones that do.

So we walked every single one and mapped them by hand. Greek Island Streets is the map that actually matches the stones under your feet.

FIND YOUR WAY BACK
Scan the QR card at your hotel or Airbnb — or tap it on the map and choose "I'm staying here." From then on, the map always knows the way home. Your place is saved on your phone only, never on our servers.

FIND EVERYTHING ELSE
450+ hand-checked places: tavernas, cafés, bakeries, museums, viewpoints, ATMs, pharmacies, kiosks, luggage storage, public toilets. Browse by category or search — the map frames what's around you.

BUILT FOR THE ALLEYS
Walking directions that follow the real lanes, not roads a car would take. The town map and search work offline once downloaded — directions just need a moment of signal to load, then GPS does the rest.

HELP MAP THE ISLANDS
Have an iPhone Pro? Walk the alleys with the built-in LiDAR mapper, contribute centimetre-accurate street data, and earn points toward partner rewards. The camera is used only for motion tracking — no photos or video are ever saved or uploaded.

Now covering Naxos (Chora). More Cycladic old towns coming for the 2027 season.

### 1.13 — 2026-08-17

Finding your place just got easier:
• Search now covers the whole island. If the hotel or apartment you booked is in another town, you will find it by name, with the town shown and driving directions one tap away.
• Search understands what you actually type. Ask for a "ferry" and you get the port. "Cash" finds the ATMs, "gelato" finds the ice cream, "dentist" finds the dentist.
• The place you searched for now comes first in the results.

It all still works offline once the map has downloaded.

### 1.12 — 2026-08-05

Small under-the-hood update:
• Optional, privacy-first analytics: anonymous usage data is collected only if you say yes, and you can change your mind any time in Settings.
• Crash reporting (also consent-based) so we can fix problems faster.
• Stability improvements.
The map, directions and offline navigation work exactly as before — free, no account, no guest tracking.

A faster map, a fresh look

• A brand-new app icon 
• The map is dramatically faster — zooming and panning are now instant, even with 650+ places on screen
• The location button now simply brings the map to you at your current zoom — no more surprise zoom-outs
• Smoother turn-by-turn directions while you walk
• Faster, more responsive mapping walks for our alley mappers

Live navigation, rebuilt for the alleys:

• Turn-by-turn directions now follow you as you walk — the current step stays highlighted with a live countdown, and the map faces the way you're walking, zooming in as you get close.
• Your position now glides along the route line instead of jumping around with GPS scatter.
• Two-stage arrival: "Almost there" as you approach, then "You have arrived" right at the door.
• Alternative routes: see a second way to your destination — and if you simply start walking it, the app switches over for you.
• Wandered off course? A gentle prompt offers a new route from where you are, or guides you back on track.
• Faster startup and smoother, more responsive GPS.
