It wasn’t pulling up my destination location on the map. I immediately received a developer response via email with instructions on using the app off WiFi and everything worked great for me. Considering the environment in the USA, it’s just in the nick of time. I especially appreciate that it features Traveling While Black scores for cities not only in the USA but across the world based on community inputs. Sad that we need it, but happy that we have it! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cancelled in ‘24 and have been charged for two annual subscriptions since *2026-05-02* I got a free trial and decided that this app was not for me. I got in touch with the app creator about cancelling and they confirmed that they had 2 years ago. Then I got charged in 2025 and had to go through the process of refunding and disputing the charge. They confirmed that my account should be deleted this time. I just got charged again for this service a third time when I was under the impression that my account was completely deleted. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-09-13* I downloaded this app after seeing all the reviews about how this was such an amazing tool blah blah blah. Immediately upon downloading, I tried to set up my account including my name and email. Each attempt was shot down but only after entering this information and hitting continue, then a message advised the next step (access to the app) was unavailable. **Developer response:** Thank you for reaching out and I’m so sorry you had this experience when trying to set up your account. I want to assure you that we are absolutely not a scam. With so many different phone models and operating systems, sometimes compatibility issues can pop up. I am highly disappointed because it seems to want all this information about you and I am still waiting over 10 minutes on a confirmation email to utilize the ROAD TRIP function. This is not functioning as I expected to. I had to provide how I travel, when I travel, why I travel, and I can’t even use the app for what I need it for. I need to know where the sundown towns are. Apparently after providing all my info, I still need to confirm that I am me before you provide me what I need the app for. I like other black men don’t like intrusive applications. Especially after Musk Rat and his folks are digging in our information. I had high hopes of using this app since I am a black woman who travels very often. We had a bug where our Google API, which identifies your hometown, exceeded its usage limit due to the high volume of downloads. We've since released an update that removes it, so you shouldn't have any issues now.
