## What is Green Mountain Grills?

Bring your Green Mountain Grill into the 21st century with our grill management app. This app utilizes WiFi technology and has a range of up to 40 meters in point to point mode. You also have the ability to connect your grill to your home network in WiFi Mode and to our cloud based system in server mode. You can create grill profiles, monitor meat temps, set timers and alarms, and adjust grill temps from inside your home or anywhere. We have recently added calibration tools to calibrate both air temperature and probe temperatures. Stay tuned for updates and additional features on future releases.

The first ever internet connected BBQ is here! We have officially launched Server Mode for the WiFi enabled line of Green Mountain Grills. Connect your Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone and/or Jim Bowie pellet grill to our servers to control/monitor your grill from a cellular network.

Was a great grill, the. They gave up on us and decided to call the new grills ‘2.0’…. Ooooh, ahhhh. Thanks for forgetting those who helped you get going.

Used to work. Stopped about 6 months ago with zero reason and no updates from GMG. Did they get bought out by private equity, because customers come last it would seem.

The grill continues to fail to connect to the app, even after I have updated the firmware and connected to the grill WiFi. It doesn’t matter if I’m on either side of it or right on top of it. When it will connect, I can’t travel 5feet away from it, or else the connection fails, then I’m back to square one trying to connect again.

I bought my GMG a couple years ago, awesome unit but I honestly would of not bought it if I new the app was so aweful on apple devices, it’s never worked right, looses connection and is awful

The app is not user friendly. When you close the app it disconnects from the grill. You can’t easily save recipes. You can’t change the amount of smoke you can’t set the grill to understand the outside temp versus the inside temp. They give you a slider that says cold warm and hot and you can “set the temp” that’s way but it does nothing. The grill is terrible and cheaply made and the app is a complete afterthought. Zero effort went into this app.

I have had my grill and this app for 10 years. Do I wish it could do more, yes…but honestly I’ve had no issues with operating it. I like it because it is simple, and gets the job done

I work with phone apps and back end servers I could program something better by myself easy. Although there is likely some blame on the hardware engineers. I mean wow, a printer does a better job staying connected with worse WiFi signal. Come on, really, this thing lives outside, put the extra 10 bucks per unit and get better hardware. I have had this smoker for a while, the app is super finicky. When everything is working it’s great! But put some more features in settings to help the user debug. There are three ways to stay connected… direct, WiFi, and server. Direct is fine but as soon as walk through the door it’s hit or miss. WiFi is ok but still a little finicky as well. Server is awesome when it’s working, I can run to the store or to work and I can stay posted with what’s going on, but just as finicky as WiFi. If I want to grill the following week I have to go through the same headache of process to connect. A lot of times I can’t connect in any way so I need to factory reset and go through all the brutal steps again including updating the grill. It’s likely mostly a hardware issue, but come on, there should be better debugging steps on the app so the user knows what’s up and can connect and start smoking sooner. Hours of my life wasted screwing around with this app and talking to customer service. I am going to keep at a one star until I see some improvements, or better yet just hire me to improve the robustness of the software and the client side app. Then I’ll give it 5 stars

Bought a green mountain grill, the grill works great. The app is nothing but a hassle and never works. It never connects. It is absolute junk. I completely regret buying this product. I should’ve went with a Traeger or a Pit Boss, stay away!

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. When you are out of pellets you can’t do anything cause the warning pops up every second. I don’t get notifications unless im in the app and i have my notifications on. Whats the point of having an app if it doesn’t tell me when the smoker is to temp or if the meat is up to temp. Im not going to keep the app open the whole time. Although it is nice to start it in the house and remotely observe it, it need a huge improvement. Also the remote option doesn’t work unless you keep the app open. Fix these and ill give five starts.
