Green Choice is a wholesome app that connects food with people. With so much information out it’s easy to believe anything, but Green Choice joins your values with precise data, allowing you to make food choices you can be happy about! ### 5/5 — Green choice – needed resource! *2019-06-11* I’ve been paying attention to what I eat, what is healthy, where things are grown, how they are packaged for decades. It could get exhausting at times. Sometimes just the day-to-day demands of life would mean I wouldn’t do the research or worse I didn’t care in that moment of exhaustion. Then along cane Green Choice to the rescue! Now it’s simplified. And in much more detail about products than I ever would’ve gotten on my own. I love going into the store. I bring my phone with me and I use GreenChoice app. My buying decisions are now very well informed. Thank you! ### 5/5 — I have a difficult time shopping without it! *2019-06-10* Greenchoice has significantly reduced my grocery shopping anxiety! It gives me peace of mind knowing that what I am shopping for and putting in my body is truly healthy. I didn’t realize how much I truly loved it until I went to Trader Joe’s which is not a store covered by Greenchoice at this point. I found myself feeling lost and overwhelmed in the store not having access to Green Scores. This app has added immense value and ease to my life when it comes to my grocery shopping! I can’t recommend it enough and truly can’t live without it now! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — keeps trying to get me to invite friends *2025-05-04, version 5.1.11* Tried to search a catagory - bread - when i tried to search I would get a pop up to invite friends. When I would close the pop up it would take me to the scanner. Never got search results. Deleted the app. ### 1/5 — Deleting after the last update in July *2020-07-20* Unfortunately I used to love this app. I am vegan and I buy mostly fruits and vegetables from the store. I loved the points collecting feature and the ability to redeem my points for gift cards. I loved the idea of collecting points, while eating healthy, it pushed me to buy even more fresh produce and stay away from processed food. This option is now removed after the last update and I don’t see a point to continue using the app. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2019-06-03, version 1.0.20* Clunky, obviously promoting sponsored content. There’s many better options for apps in the clean eating space ### 2/5 — There’s a bug *2022-09-21, version 3.4.0* There seems to be a bug that constantly kicks me out of the app every time I use it. I love the app and wish to use it more but it’s difficult to use because of this. ### 2/5 — great resource but has some tech issues to resolve *2021-01-02* As a vegan, I love that Green Choice exists and use it often to inform my grocery buying. However, it seems like in a recent update it has developed a bug that makes it very difficult to use. All actions take about a minute to be executed; every time you select an option or search something, the screen appears to freeze and takes a very long time to fulfill the request. I usually don’t write reviews, but I wanted to let the developers know about the bug because I really am grateful to have Green Choice as a resource for intentional grocery shopping and know it will be even better once this issue is resolved. ♥️ **Developer response:** Hey thank you so much for this feedback! We released a new version built from scratch without any of the issues you mentioned. Hopefully you can try it out and continue to use it to inform your grocery buying! ### 2/5 — I love this, but it has tech issues *2020-11-30, version 3.4.0* I love using this app, but it constantly goes to a blank screen when refreshing and ends up being useless. ### 3/5 — Great app but it’s slow *2021-04-28, version 3.4.0* I love this app and I think the concept is amazing. It should be very fast and easy to use. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best Food Scanner *2026-04-01* This is the best food scanner app I’ve found. I’m very conscious of what I eat, and it can be really hard to find healthy, unprocessed, and toxin-free foods at most grocery stores. My favorite thing about this app compared to others is the score is broken down into processing and food safety (pesticides, chemicals etc) scores, so I can see what parts of the score matter most to me. Some apps only score by nutrient density, which isn’t helpful for avoiding things like phthalates or pesticides. I’m super busy so I have to keep pre-packaged snacks on hand to bring with me to class and gym etc, and using this app makes grocery shopping so much quicker! ### 5/5 — Green choice is awesome *2020-08-07, version 3.2.0* Lost 150 pounds using green choice!
