Thankfully I never closed my bank account with one of the banks that actually have branches you can go to. My mom passed away a few months ago from cancer and when I received the check from her life insurance… GreenFi would not allow me to deposit it. They continued to reject it for various reasons. I was told on the last submission to “check with the issuer” which is INSANE as it is a life insurance company. There was no efforts to help me figure it out. So in the end, I went to a local branch of the “other” bank and everything was easy and done within a matter of minutes. For that reason, I will never close my other account. If I had to choose, I’d close my GreenFi account. They made an already difficult situation more difficult. ### 4/5 — so far so good *2026-03-12, version 3.6.0* I’ve been using this app and company for a short while but so far it’s great. I like the saving pods so you can categorize and visually set goals. Also I had helpful experience with customer service Though I’m new to GreenFi I agree with many other comments here about the rebrand and think Aspiration was better. Either way I’m giving it a chance ### 2/5 — Good Bank But The App? *2026-02-17, version 3.4.15* The bank is excellent, but the app leaves a lot to be desired. Trying to deposit a paper check is next to impossible. It keeps demanding that you get the check just in the right position and is very finicky about getting it in the right position and even when you do, your checks, gonna get declined because the picture is too blurry. I literally am probably gonna have to switch banks because I get a lot of checks now and the ATMs they use do not accept cash deposits only cash withdrawals. I’ve been a customer for 10 years and this issue with trying to deposit checks is probably what’s going to make me leave. ### 1/5 — Never works *2026-01-29, version 3.4.15* I love the principles this bank stands on… but nearly every time I try to use the app it gives an error message. I can only ever access my account on my laptop. ### 2/5 — App crashes with Face ID / support link fail *2026-01-23, version 3.4.13* I cannot get the app to open anymore on my iPhone Air + iOS 26.2 as it crashes 100%, even after deleting and reinstalling. Also the “app support” like here in the App Store is more like “account support,” and not APP support, as it doesn’t get you any app help. Both need updating ASAP. ### 4/5 — What is GreenFi? *2025-11-21, version 3.4.8* Aspiration was cool, sounded inspirational, sounded like good was to be done. The debit card was made from recycled ocean plastic, the card hard a picture of a forest on it. Everything was cool! Was! The name change to GreenFi is so dumb. What does it even mean? Seems like a rip off of SoFi, another dumb name for a bank. I was totally into this bank for 5 years and I enjoyed telling people about it. Now this GreenFi thing weirds me out. I’m embarrassed to even hand anyone the debit card. I just got the new card in the mail this week and I want nothing to do with it. Highly would not recommend to anyone ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-06-26, version 3.6.4* Will steal your money ### 1/5 — Used to be great *2026-05-16, version 3.6.3* Got worse once it switched over from the old name, so hard to get help over email. ### 1/5 — This bank has locked me out of transferring funds to other banks *2026-05-12, version 3.6.3* While my primary bank is recognized by Plaid, credit card companies, mortgage companies, and other banks for transferring money, GreenFi has said my primary bank is not “verifiable” and has disabled that link. They removed me ability to delete that account and reverify it, and when I called to have them verify it they refused to. They said they will not re-enable it and that my only option is to transfer to another bank instead. Rather than open up a new bank, the easier solution is to drop GreenFi and take my business elsewhere. I would avoid using them at all costs! ### 1/5 — PLEASE HELP?! *2026-05-10, version 3.6.3* Has the app been hacked/down, or is it just me?! The last 2 days I can’t even log in. As soon as I load the app, I get an error message that says ‘Oops! There was a problem. Please check your internet connection and try again.’ I’ve checked my WiFi. Reloaded the app. Deleted and reinstalled. Nothing. Still the error message. It doesn’t even pop up to a login screen. I tried emailing, going to the website, but my phone flagged the website and won’t let it load either. I can’t access my funds. Is there a number I can call?! Please help?!?! ### 1/5 — Many years of Aspiration coming to an end *2026-04-20, version 3.6.2* I have used aspiration from 2017 to present and overall it was a positive experience. But overall the quality of the product rendered.. banking and customer service has diminished. Originally unlimited out of network ATM withdrawals reimbursed.. they did away with that. Live chat and US based customer service.. gone. Then they switched banks from Radius to Costal Community bank which other then my banking records becoming a PDF.. was ok. Then more recently they switched from money market to traditional checking/saving accounts. Recently on the 23/24th there was system glitch (previously mentioned by another review). I had recently received my paycheck and scheduled payment for Chase CC, Discover CC and Capital One CC, as well as car payment. The glitch caused all those payments to fail. Fortunately I have another bank because if I didn’t those payments would be late. Chase and Capital One won’t let me transfer funds from Aspiration until Aspiration sends proof of ownership on bank letterhead. Guess what it’s been a week and they haven’t been able to do that. My time with aspiration is at an end.. 7+ years of mostly positive experiences tainted by some small annoying changes and massive system failures. If you can’t properly run transactions, can’t explain what happened and can’t go through the requested steps to fix this issue with my other banks.. why would I bank with you? ### 1/5 — DO NOT GET THIS BANK *2026-03-30, version 3.6.1* just take my word… ### 1/5 — Had a account since 2019 *2026-03-15, version 3.6.0* And in 2024 they closed it down. ### 1/5 — Can’t pen app *2026-03-04, version 3.5.0* I get an error message even after updates and trying to reinstall the app. Can’t even use this bank app what’s the point it’s been all over 6 months and nothing has been fixed ### 1/5 — Stay away *2026-02-11, version 3.4.15* This started out great and all. I had a recent issue and needed to do a dispute for over $40 dollars and I’m out of my money support didn’t help closed my dispute and basically said oh well not there problem. What a joke this app is it is not TRUSTWORTHY. Beware.
