## What is Greenlight?

Greenlight is a native iPhone client for GitLab, built for one job and built well: keeping on top of your merge requests and CI/CD pipelines from your phone.

MERGE REQUESTS
• Mine, review-requested, assigned, or all open MRs across your repos
• Approve / unapprove, merge, merge-when-pipeline-succeeds, mark draft/ready, close/reopen
• Reviewers & assignees, per-reviewer re-request review, and an approvals summary
• Colored unified diffs, labels, branches, and ahead/behind with one-tap rebase
• Threaded comments with reactions, reply, and resolve - plus an activity feed

PIPELINES
• Pipelines across all your repos: yours or everyone's, latest-per-branch
• Stages and jobs at a glance; retry, cancel, run, and play manual jobs
• A live-tailing job log with collapsible sections

PUSH NOTIFICATIONS (OPTIONAL)
• Know the instant a pipeline fails, recovers, or someone requests your review
• Fine-grained controls and quiet hours

TO-DOS
• Your GitLab to-do list, tappable straight through to the item that needs you

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Your access token lives in the iOS Keychain - no analytics, no trackers, no ads
• Optional Face ID lock
• Light and dark mode, designed iOS-first

Greenlight is an independent, unofficial client and is not affiliated with GitLab Inc.
Works with gitlab.com. Requires a GitLab account and a personal access token (or GitLab sign-in) with API access.

Greenlight is free, contains no in-app purchases, and unlocks no paid features. A free GitLab.com account works.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-09-10

Browse your code, right from the app
• New Repositories tab — open any repo for its README, open merge requests, recent pipelines and code
• Browse files and folders at any branch or tag
• Commit history with full messages and changed files
• Open a GitLab link straight in the app

Merge requests
• "Mine" now includes merge requests assigned to you, not just ones you opened
• Rows show who a handed-over merge request is assigned to

Polish and fixes
• A refreshed look with a new typeface throughout
• Shows a connection error when you're offline, instead of an empty list
• Fixed content hidden behind the tab bar on detail screens
• Long pipeline stage names now wrap instead of being cut off

### 1.2 — 2026-07-07

• See trigger jobs and their downstream status directly in the pipeline, just like GitLab
• Sign in with GitLab in one tap, no personal access token needed
• Turn on push notifications for a whole group or project in one tap
• Notification taps now open the exact comment, not just the merge request
• No more duplicate push notifications
• Fixed spurious sign-in errors on launch, plus a new adaptive app icon

### 1.1 — 2026-06-25

Sign in with GitLab
• One-tap sign-in — no need to create a personal access token by hand (the token option is still there if you prefer it).

Push notifications, set up in the app
• Turn on alerts for a whole group (covers every project inside it) or a single project, right from the app — usually one tap.
• Get notified the moment CI fails, a pipeline recovers, you're asked to review, or you're mentioned. Fine-grained controls and quiet hours included.

More control over merges
• Cancel a pending "merge when pipeline succeeds" — just tap the button again to call it off.

Fixes & polish
• Large job logs (long publish/deploy jobs) now load reliably instead of hanging.
• Pipeline stages waiting on an earlier stage correctly show as "waiting," not "running."
• Clearer empty states and wording throughout.

### 1.0 — 2026-06-25
