## What is GrESt Calculator Austria?

Estimate Austrian GrESt, land-registry fee, and mortgage-registration fee in seconds. Check whether your purchase qualifies for the temporary WSFG Grundbuch exemption before the 1 July 2026 cutoff.

Austria's Wohnraumschaffungsförderungsgesetz 2024 introduced a temporary waiver of the land-registry ownership fee and the mortgage-registration fee for primary residences. Applications must arrive at the land-registry court before 1 July 2026 (Vienna local time), the underlying purchase or mortgage contract must have closed after 31 March 2024, and the assessment base must stay below the 2 million EUR luxury threshold. This app is built for first-time buyers of an Austrian home, families registering a primary residence, and anyone mid-closing who wants to see the exemption math before signing.
