## What is grid.photo?

The corner belongs to the most-liked frame.

grid.photo is a global photography showcase where the image itself is everything. No follower counts on the grid. No algorithmic feeds. No pay-to-promote. A great photo by an unknown photographer stands exactly the same chance as one by a veteran with thousands of fans.

HOW IT WORKS
Every photographer gets one upload per day — not a gallery, not a portfolio, just their best frame. The community votes with likes and favorites, and the most-loved image holds the corner. A Gravity score measures how much pull each photo still has, keeping the Rising feed fresh and competitive.

Once a photo's momentum slows it retires from the main grid — but lives on in the photographer's profile forever. Nothing is deleted, just graduated.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-10-02

Added Featured Photographers: in-depth interviews with photographers from around the world, with their process, gear, and the stories behind their images. Also, the About page has a new "Why I built this" section sharing the backstory behind grid.photo's philosophy.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-23

This update introduces Story View. Tap the new Story View button on any wide or panoramic photo to slice it into swipeable vertical panels. It works throughout the app, including on every photo inside a multi-image Set.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-18

The photo grid now has a New (12h) filter that shows only photos posted in the last 12 hours. This is perfect for catching fresh uploads before they get buried in the grid.
Retired photos now display their Peak Gravity score in the detail view, so you can see how high a photo climbed during its active run.
Your profile's active photo badges now work as deep links: tap ACTIVE · P8 (for example) and the app jumps straight to page 8 of the grid, scrolls to your photo, and highlights it with an amber glow. Finally, the Sunset & Sunrise Colors forecast tool now covers Australia. Switch between USA and Australia with a single tap to see a 7-day color-quality heat map over the continent, complete with regional breakdowns for Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and more.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-09

• Photo resubmit - Retired photos can now be resubmitted to the grid from your profile. Pro members get a 30-day cooldown; free members wait 90 days.
• Followers tab - Your profile now shows a Followers section so you can see who's following you and follow them back.
• Help page - A full in-app Help guide is now available under More → Help, covering how the grid works, ranking, uploading, and more.
• News layout fix - The Photography News page no longer stretches or clips after articles load.
• Bug fixes and stability improvements
