### 4/5 — Comfort

*2026-08-26, version 2.11*

I was sceptical and initially didn’t like being reminded daily of my loss but that aside it’s v helpful to know I’m not going mad - that others feel the same way. That grief is a v moveable beast but I do my best to engage with life but equally give myself permission to have a day in bed if that’s how I’m feeling that day. I talk to understanding and dear friends. I’ll continue the course …… thankyou 💖

### 4/5 — Loss of grandson

*2026-08-12, version 2.09*

I am a retired civil servant who has unfortunately just lost her seventh grandson.
This app is beginning to help me deal with my feelings. It was recommended by CS bereavement charity and although I was sceptical it is beginning to help me understand my feelings

### 4/5 — Support

*2026-07-08, version 2.07*

I have found the Grief Works Support Programme very supportive and helps me on my grief journey. The journalling and the meets up on a Monday evening very helpful. It’s good to speak to people in the same situation who understand how you feel. Often you hear worse stories than your own. I recommend joining

### 4/5 — Very useful course and tools

*2026-07-01, version 2.07*

I logged into the Grief Works programme on recommendation of a grieving friend and have found it useful in working through my grief. I use the tools when I feel I need help and enjoy the morning sessions when I have time

### 5/5 — Feeling understood

*2026-05-10, version 2.04*

Grief Works is helping me to separate out all the confusion and mixed emotions going around in my head.
It’s also helped me to realise that my grief is unique to me and I don’t need to feel guilty on days when I get on with my life.
I like the way I can use the app at my own pace.

### 5/5 — Grief Support

*2026-04-16, version 2.01*

Signing up to Grief Works is really helping me through my grief journey. It is only 8 months since my husband passed away but the tools available are a great support when I use them. Responses to queries are always quick and are never “standard responses” which makes me feel that any response has been carefully thought through. For me personally it is money well spent.

### 5/5 — Most helpful and genuine App. Available

*2026-04-11, version 2.00*

I only managed to do part of the course due to ill health. However I found it to be the most well structured, helpful and genuine help that is out there. All the people involved with Grief Works are sincere and honest in wanting to help us move forward and be able to understand our emotions and feelings and ultimately cope with our grief. I especially can’t thank Julia and Nick enough for all their help!
I hope to do the course again when I’m better and have already told my daughters and friends all about how helpful it was and will continue to recommend it to anyone who is grieving and feeling lost. Patricia ❤️

### 5/5 — Really Helpful

*2026-03-24, version 1.98*

I have found the Grief Works app and support program extremely helpful as I live with and process my grief. I like the fact that sessions are “bite size” so I can take my time over them and move on to the next one when I’m ready. The meeting videos are also very much appreciated, practical advice delivered with real empathy and compassion. Thank you 💕

### 5/5 — Grief Works App

*2026-03-23, version 1.98*

I am a mental health practitioner by profession so can be someone reluctant to seek support through an ‘App’ but have found this one to be a valuable tool to support, coach and challenge everything that needs to be through the very hard grieving process. The ability to meet others online going through the same. Now I know what the saying ‘no pain no gain’ really means to be able to heal and thrive. And I love the ‘puddle’ analogy. I would highly recommend investing in the ‘Grief Works’ app.

### 5/5 — Gentle, comprehensive guidance

*2026-03-17, version 1.97*

My brother recently used MAID, or medical assistance to die, after months of rapidly losing his abilities to move, talk, eat, swallow and breathe with Multiple System Atrophy. While I was glad for him that he was able to die on his own terms I found it extremely difficult to navigate grieving him while he was still living while I was helping to take care of him, then watching death sick his life from him when he took the concoction of meds , and now grieving the loss of my brother. I still don’t know the use of grief. I have a wonderful therapist and joined an in-person grief support group because I strongly believe healing happens in the context of face-to-face relationships with other real live humans, but haven’t found the support group to be particularly helpful. This app IS amazingly helpful. I’m so glad I found it. The range of support strategies it offers provides a wealth of options to choose from. I love how this app allows each user to take what we need as we need it. I can’t say enough good about it. The daily gratitude reviews, the lessons, the mindfulness exercises, the regular prompts to reflect, the visualizations, breathing exercises, etc. offer a huge toolbox. I’m exceedingly grateful to be able to use this app to lean on and guide me on my journey. I highly recommend it. It’s invaluable.

### 5/5 — Doris Hall

This is an amazing support group. It is helping me cope with my dreadful loss.

### 5/5 — Grief Works

*2026-03-17, version 1.97*

Really helpful to guide and keep me steady in early stages of grief

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2026-01-29, version 1.95*

I have struggled a bit since losing my husband in Oct last year and decided to try counselling, unfortunately the waiting lists are anything up to a year so thought did give this a go. I have found it helps me to focus on the here and now and try to find positives in each day.
It’s worth a go everyone deals with grief differently but give it a try

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-12-10, version 1.92*

This has been the best source of support, information and care that I have ever encountered before. I wish to thank Julia, Nick and team for creating this app, which I cannot praise too highly.

### 5/5 — Absolutely fantastic grief teachings

*2025-11-27, version 1.92*

Five Stars

### 5/5 — Grief works app review

*2025-11-24, version 1.92*

I wasn’t sure at first whether to join up or not , but I am so glad I did. It is helping me work through the grief of losing my mother. After just a week I started to feel calmer, recognising what my feelings were and letting them pass through me rather than pushing them back down. I learnt this from the lessons in the app, which you can take at your own pace and also zoom calls with the community and Julia and Nick. I understand now how complex grief can be and how it sometimes comes in waves when you least expect it. I feel prepared and also supported by topics and meditations that I can return to if I need. I’m only part way through my journey and it’s early days but I know where to go within the app for support. I thoroughly recommend it.

### 5/5 — 24/7 help with loss

*2025-11-17, version 1.92*

Easy to use -remote tools , therapy options and opp to engage in grief community helpful dialogue and meditation

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App chatged

*2024-05-14, version 1.66*

I cancelled my subscription but money still came out. Caused me more stress in a very difficult time and refusing to give a refund .

### 1/5 — made me more depressed

*2022-10-25, version 1.36*

Maybe this is good for some people, but this app totally made me depressed every time I tried it. Wallowing in my grief is not helpful.

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service

*2022-01-14, version 1.25*

This app will bill you every three months and it’s not in US dollars. I’m trying to get someone to respond to me and provide a receipt or cancel. There is no new content after you complete the modules so not worth paying another $75 for three more months. It’s a worthwhile resource for grief, I just wish I could get someone to respond to my inquiries. It should be a yearly payment.

### 2/5 — Beautiful app but disappointing support and pricing

*2026-03-17, version 1.97*

A really lovely, thoughtful app with a calm and supportive feel throughout. The content is clearly created with care and understanding, and the resources are genuinely helpful, especially when going through something as difficult as grief. It feels gentle rather than overwhelming and I like how it encourages reflection without pressure.

There is a lot of knowledge behind the app and it comes across as a safe space to explore thoughts and emotions at your own pace. The content itself feels supportive and understanding. However, the lack of response to some of my emails had the opposite effect and at times made me feel quite alone and unsupported, which was disappointing given the nature of the app!

The cost is also very high. I appreciate that therapy in general can be expensive but at this price point, even with a monthly option, it feels well above what many people can realistically afford, especially at a time when they may need support the most. Along with the cost and the communication inconsistency, it left me feeling frustrated and dismissed so because of this, I’m no longer using the app.

Overall, it’s a beautiful and well-designed app with meaningful content but the pricing and lack of consistent communication make it hard to continue with.

### 2/5 — The live support group didn't launch

*2024-08-19, version 1.69*

I rearranged my work meetings to participate, logged in and waited 15 minutes. No one let me in. I was already feeling like the world is caving in. I didn't need this. I now don't trust the program. Happy that it's working for others. Sad that it's not working for me.

### 2/5 — answer my request

*2024-03-20, version 1.63*

I need to have my subscription refunded. I’m not able to access my account and emailed support

### 2/5 — App bugs

*2023-12-31, version 1.60*

I can’t find a way to change status of my membership. And no one will get back to me.

### 2/5 — Lost all my work

*2022-03-04, version 1.30*

I have invested some days in this, journaling thoughts, and somehow everything I have done is ALL GONE , all my journals, reflections, and answers in course sessions. So disappointed, those moments are all erased, just like the one I loved. I

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2021-10-12, version 1.22*

Never got past the screen that asked who was being grieved. Nothing for a dog, or any type of pet. If the developer does not recognize that grief exists for the loss of a pet, then this app is not for me.

### 3/5 — Grief works

*2026-04-16, version 2.01*

Really helping deal with all the emotions I’m going through.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — natasha Roffe

*2026-08-26, version 2.11*

Its been a real life line to have discovered and to engage with the grief works experience. I have found the morning and evening gratitude check ins really holding. The live weekly group sessions feel incredibly significant and moving. To know you are diligently working through grief exercises alongside others is important and validating. Its also great you can go ar your own pace and zoom in on areas that have particular resonance. Day at a time - exercise at a time. - you are in experienced albeit virtual hands

### 5/5 — This Works

*2026-08-19, version 2.10*

I have recently had a bereavement and I have to say I have felt doing something everyday has been helpful.During that time, twice a day, just for me to focus on ,feel and acknowledge my pain. Then to write down my thoughts really was good.Everything is there to refer back to. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — Lifesaving

*2026-08-13, version 2.09*

### 5/5 — Help is given on your terms at a pace you need

*2026-07-15, version 2.07*

I’m finding this app very helpful as the 28 sessions gives me time to reflect and understand what I’m feeling and provides useful tools for coping. Most importantly, I can engage as much as I need and I can miss days if I don’t feel up to it. There’s no pressure. I will try the live and group sessions at some point, but I’m not ready yet.

### 5/5 — My love

*2026-07-15, version 2.07*

My wonderful husband Jeff , my best friend and soul mate for 41 years died after a short but vicious illness in May.
I contacted Cruse on a particularly sad day and following a long empathetic and practical chat with a lovely counsellor she suggested Julia Samuel - who I immediately felt very comfortable with - and the Grief Works app which has reaffirmed that’s it’s ok to grieve in any form.
I feel the bereavement course will be very beneficial and soothing as I’m so wired and tired
