(W latest updates) I started the app, it booted up to the continue to game screen and then - POOF! - black screen. 💻 As a long time gamer, I know every trick to try before having to reload the game.....that's the last resort and what I'm facing - so I'm not happy about that, and I hope it doesn't happen again. 😕 ****************** - although- the "puzzles within puzzle" are so awesome, more are needed, because it's not only challenging but you spend a long time solving, so it adds much more value to the game. But then sometimes, you just want them to end because they're so tedious - this is one of those games. ### 4/5 — Grim Tales: The Final Suspect by LynxMinx *2016-01-31, version 1.0.2* This was a very good game, but it's not going to get 5 stars! There were not that many locations but then you time-travel, so it's fun. You have a journal, regularly updated objectives, a teleport map, customizable difficulty, labeled inventory and plus items. There are morphing objects and collectibles, which to me are a distraction! Loading was instantaneous between locations, and certain locations had side-to-side areas as well. The HO scenes were not overly numerous and they were varied (word lists, matching pairs, silhouettes, putting objects back into place, collecting shards for an object to unlock, etc.) There was a wide range of puzzles/ mini-games. However, some were glitchy, especially the interactive ones. Each location had a lot to do, and the story was easy to follow. The graphics were good, but the cut-scenes not all that impressive. I took a star off because I had the game freeze up, and also due to length. Even with bonus adventure, I felt that it was a bit short. However, it flowed well and I enjoyed it! And thank you Elephant, you only gave me a toy mouse to deal with for a change! Dream Team, I am polling you so please respond in your next game! I am specifically asking Opinion, Dracyy, KimTwilight, Sunshine Susie: do you feel we are not getting enough HOAG games from BigFish? Also, don't you feel we should be getting trials and not have to buy it straight away? I feel we need more "Blockbusters", such as a new Empress, more from BOOLAT (Dreampath) and Sunward Games! These developers actually outdo EIPIX and Mad Head with their graphics! Anyway, happy gaming! Games range from too easy to confusing with inadequate directions. But the PRICE?? I think we are seeing the impact of Big Fish being taken over by a big company. I, too, found this game to be tedious, so tedious, in fact, that I deleted it without finishing. I play these type of games often. My practice, going forward, will be to first check the "critical" reviews and to rely only on these, and other reviews which resonate as legitimate. Just an update. I'm sure many of you have seen non Big Fish options discussed in these reviews. The Five BN "Lost Lands" is good, as are some of the directly released Artifex Mundi, like "Eventide Slavic Fables". These games are identical in format to the usual BF fare, but better and more fairly priced. I just finished some really good games that are similar and worth checking out. The developer is Lone Wolf Games and I just played "Blackthorne Castle". It was a nice change. Very similar to the Fire Maple games. It just took playing a decent game to really drive home how lousy this, and many other recent BF series games have become. I thought this game was awful! The puzzles weren't intuitive and the game didn't flow like so many good games of this type. I prefer when there is a logical process rather than just trying to remember that the door by the fountain needs a skull, or something similar. So I thought the game rather sucked. Additionally, I continue to ponder why there are none of these games designed for men. As a longtime game player, I know there were few games with women for so long - but is the response to now offer no games with male leads? This is one of the most challenging games to be played. I love every minute that this game captured my attention. This game is a five star game. In Final Suspect, you are Anna Gray, famous detective. You awaken with amnesia to find that a man, Howard Kelly, was stabbed to death with your pruning shears last night. The police suspect you did it! Now you must Time Travel to see who really killed Howard. Your niece, Jackie, is beside you to help you. As you collect Clues, they go into your Detection File along with an explanation. Then you make your deductions. The Hidden Objects are mostly shadows which must be filled in. For most, there are two items per shadow. You get Morphing Objects and other Collectibles. As usual, the game flows smoothly, with excellent Hint, Skip, Info, and Transporting Map functions. Colors are bright and items are clearly defined.
