## What is Grimoire?

Fifty dark and beautiful stories, written for the quiet hours after the world goes to sleep.

Grimoire is a collection of gothic fables — lantern-lit tales of courage and loss, of strange bargains and small wonders, told in the tradition of the folklore that has always been a little frightening and a little wise. Each story is a self-contained world: a lighthouse that goes dark after a hundred years, a clockmaker who steals hours, a girl who plants a door in the earth and waits to see what walks through. They are the kind of stories meant to be read slowly, alone, by whatever light you have.

If you love dark fantasy, gothic atmosphere, and short fiction with real weight — the mood of old fairy tales before they were softened — this is a book made for you.

WHAT'S INSIDE

- 50 original stories, each a complete tale in three chapters
- Around ten minutes a story — perfect before sleep, on a commute, or whenever you need to slip somewhere else for a while
- Four levels of depth, from short and haunting to long and layered
- Hand-crafted cover art for every single story, in a dark ink-and-shadow style
- A reader built for the night: warm type on a deep background, easy on the eyes

BUILT FOR READING

Grimoire isn't a feed and it isn't a game. There are no timers, no streaks, no noise. Just a quiet shelf of stories and a reading experience designed to get out of the way. Mark your favorites, pick up exactly where you left off, and let one tale lead into the next.

The whole collection lives in a single dark, distraction-free space — the kind of app you open when you want to disappear into a story instead of scrolling.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-09-18

A lighter grimoire.

• A much smaller download. Narration and animated covers no longer come packed inside the app — they arrive when you first need them.
• Press play in the reader and that story's narration downloads in moments, all chapters at once, so turning the page never makes you wait again.
• The first time you listen to a story you'll need a connection. If you're offline, the play button turns into ↻ — tap it to try again.
• Animated covers now load in the background while the illustration is already on screen.
• “The Keeper of the Last Question” finally shows its animated cover.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-14

No release notes.
