### 4/5 — Great App, but requires OS16 update.

*2022-12-26, version 1.1.1*

Same as other people have mention stick to OS15 or wait for Audio Damage to update the plug in, freezes when you try to change algorithm.

### 4/5 — Big problem

*2022-12-07, version 1.1.1*

App was working perfectly fine but since iOS 16 update a number off my apps are not working including this one.
When you try to change the type of distortion the whole app freezes

### 4/5 — An almost perfect distortion app.

*2019-05-05*

Please, developer, add an envelop for the filter!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Wont work

*2024-04-02*

All the apps are great I own almost every one of them but this one just wont work. 5 Stars for all the others-QuatroMod, Discord and Phase Three you can’t get better but Gring dont work. Wish it did

### 1/5 — App freezes since IOS 16

*2023-01-22, version 1.1.1*

Since iOS 16, if you try and change the algorithm, filter type or shape then the app becomes unresponsive and freezes. The app hasn’t had an update for years and now it’s broken. Avoid.

### 1/5 — Horrible cpu usage

*2018-06-24*

Spiking 70% at times only 4 patterns one track insert. I shut off grind and it’s back to normal cpu in bm3. Help please make it more efficient almost unusable

### 2/5 — Could be great but Auv3 buttons don’t work

*2024-05-08*

Could be great but in the Auv3 buttons don’t work so you can’t control the parameters, why don’t they update it? I would pay for it :(

### 2/5 — Buggy, but great sound when it occassionally works

*2020-05-13, version 1.1.1*

I like Audio Damage plugins sound but it really is hit or miss when loading up a new session.More often than not it crashes everything badly.Wish it worked properly.Ho hum.

### 3/5 — Good when it works

*2024-02-09*

Unfortunately this is one of those abandoned apps that had the potential to become great. While it works, the distortion feels terrific. However, if you click on any of the buttons below, the app is dead until you unload & reload, limiting the customizability to only the knobs.

### 3/5 — The app is a great distraction plugin, just one problem:

*2023-10-14*

When using the app as a Auv3, the buttons kind of don’t work. If I push the button to change the wave for the LFO, it would crash the plug-in it’s self.

### 3/5 — Great however broken In iOS 13

*2019-10-28, version 1.1.1*

Please fix for iOS 13 ! Thanks

### 3/5 — iPhone incompatible

*2019-05-30*

Crunchy fx from my iPad, but will not run on my iPhone 5.

### 4/5 — 🔥🔥🔥

*2024-07-17*

This app unlocked a whole new world for me. Despite its bugs, this one is certainly not one to sleep on.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2021-09-03, version 1.1.1*

This app has always been one of my top apps ever. Please look at updating as it is a bit glitchy now ! Thanks

### 5/5 — Creative

*2020-08-31*

This is a distinctive take on the old distortion/crunch effect. When a project or line need a hop in the rear, this never fails to take sounds to new heights of enthused depravity.

I have had no problems with the app regarding AU-host compatibility. It will not write your thank-you letters to grandma or cure your addictions, but it will do some pleasingly twisted things to your audio.

Grind gets my bubbling-warm recommendation.

### 5/5 — Speaker Ripping Filth.

*2019-02-15, version 1.1.1*

Grind is an absolute power house of speaker ripping filth. The phase and wavetable make it easy to dial in some more subtle warmth and the LFO is an incredible touch to get the dirt pumping. Pretty much all my bass lines are fed through this to give presence and more often then not pure utter nastiness. I’d give it more stars if I could.

### 5/5 — The perfect filter/distorter

*2018-08-18*

As in, where has this been all my life? The waveform feature is great... excellent flavor from this. It will do anything and everything you ever wanted a distortion or drive pedal to do and instantly. This with Dubstation and EOS2 made the bulk package a steal.

Some questions in other reviewson functionality: i use this on ipad pro, ios 11.4, with AUM as AU host.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2017-08-05*

The algo saturation/distortion will give you sounds that guitar pedal users will expect. High quality.

Processing via the wavetable lookup veers into unknown territory, that in the past required a Wiard Waveform City, msp, supercollider, etc.

A useful input and output stage. I wish all effects developers utilised input/output gain.

Multiple filter types, lfo's, gate, phase, window size, and more. Incredibly deep/flexible.

If you are a fan of distortion, fuzz, waveshapers, wavetable processing, etc, don't hesitate.

1 request; ability to input my own wavetables.

Thank you for making this Audio Damage.

### 5/5 — Great stuff

*2017-07-31*

A must, simple as that

### 5/5 — Blown Away!

*2017-06-28, version 1.0.104*

This app not only blows me away in terms of its quality, it also blows my music away and completely destroys it, when I want it to. But its real beauty is its ability to be very subtle and add new textures to my music. This is like nothing else I've seen on iOS.

### 5/5 — A Very Cool iOS offering

*2017-06-26*

I'm very excited to see this app come to iOS. This company makes quality software and if you are gonna grind up your sound it should be with this application! Lots of flexibility and power. Works nicely in Audiobus 3 by the way!!

### 5/5 — Amazingly diverse, damaging sounds

*2017-06-23*

Grind really does amazing things to whatever you throw at it. It's incredibly diverse. It can turn a butter knife into a chainsaw.

There are some weird UI layout issues in the first release that would be great to see fixed, but they can usually be worked around (reload the standalone version, or rotate the phone before opening the AU host).

Even with that, it sounds so good that there's no good reason not to have it in your sonic toolbox
