### 5/5 — grip to knight

*2026-08-13*

yep

### 5/5 — A climbing app I’m actually excited about

*2026-08-10*

I don’t really get into the gamification of my hobbies that apps like these tend to play into. However, I’m excited that my new home gym is using an app that gives a V grade to climbs and allows users to rate it soft/accurate/hard. I imagine that, as well as uploading video beta, will be the two most exciting features for me, personally. I’m not sure if I’ll be interested in some of the pay to play features like workouts or video analysis of my climbs. I think I’m very unlikely to care about the point system or the concept of pitting myself against other users, but I guess, never say never.

### 1/5 — Problem to load the gym

*2026-05-17, version 3.10.9*

The app used to work fine, but now it keeps saying that there has been an issue loading the gym so I can’t use it anymore

### 5/5 — Great tracking app

*2026-05-17, version 3.10.9*

Makes sessions so much better and great for tracking progress, underrated app! Fiddly at first to figure out but worth getting to grips with

### 5/5 — Great tracker

*2026-04-25*

All the reviews here are old, but this app is genuinely great. My friends and I have started climbing and this app was a good way to keep us going for climbing. Honestly underrated app!

### 2/5 — Add social signin

*2026-03-07, version 3.9.4*

I really can’t be bothered signing up for this manually during a climbing session. Apple/google signin etc would make this easy to do

### 2/5 — Not bad not good

*2026-03-06*

It’s great to be able to see grades and track climbs but it’s not very intuitive to use. I’ve no idea how projects seem to work, for example. It doesn’t seem to register them properly, there’s no obvious way to add them, and probably as a result of it not tracking them properly, in the projects section is gives me no data because it says there aren’t enough. I’m new so I’ll give it a bit longer but I’m really struggling to see the value in paying for this.

### 5/5 — Really cool, very efficient

*2026-02-09, version 3.9.2*

You can find people at your gym keep track of your climbs and it tells you what level you are.

### 5/5 — Superb

*2025-12-21*

It’s only fair I leave a review for Griptonite, by far my most used app. Seriously, I have tracked every session over the last 12 months, 3 sessions a week.

The Griptonite platform has absolutely nailed the convenience factor. Using the RFID tags or (more often) using the top down map of the gym to select the problem, I can see the grade, the style and easily log my ticks and flashes.

The thing I love more than anything is watching improvement over time. After the year of lockdowns I returned to climbing maxing out on easy V4s and over the last 12 months I’ve progressed to climbing my first few V7s. Griptonite absolutely shines on showing improvement over time. I had a wrist injury in the summer and It’s really interesting to see recovery over time (it took around 3 months)

The newish addition of beta videos has been a pretty big hit at my local gym (shoutout to Freeklime!).

The app stability is perfect and updates are always solid, clearly well tested before anything gets released.

I do have a wish list if any developers happen to read this ;)

- it would be really convenient if the monthly gym result view table was sortable by the heading (route, grade, tries, points)

- navigating from the gym map to the above table takes quite a few steps (from the map - tap top left gym logo, tap view gym, find and click on yourself in the leaderboard). I find myself moving between the map to this stats page and back really often and it would be really useful to have a way of quickly jumping between these views somehow.

- A rest API. I’m a developer by trade and I’d love to be able to play with my data, but I imagine I’m in the small few that would be interested

So thanks Griptonite, love the app and I’m excited to get a motherboard home setup soon.

### 3/5 — Add total grades/ routes climbed

*2025-11-28, version 3.8.3*

I really like the app in terms of viewing routes but what I want more than anything is to just see how many routes of each grade I’ve climbed. Rather than sifting month to month on routes I’ve climbed, just seeing total figures under progression would be great.
