### 2/5 — Difficult to connect

*2026-09-03, version 1.6.1*

This is my second Grizzlies-e charger but the first one that I’m trying to use the app. I have no doubt that the charger will work just as well as the one in my prior house but this one does not want to connect to the internet. I see nowhere to get tech support. I’m spending way too much time trying to set this up.

### 2/5 — No support option

*2026-07-11, version 1.6.0*

The app works pretty well, but there’s no option in the app to seek support from them. Recently had my charger tell me my amp limit was 12a, and i know it was set to 40. I ended up rebooting and it’s set to 40, i got no notification of the lower amp setting. That almost screwed me over on my morning errands

### 3/5 — It’s Just OK

*2026-05-12, version 1.4.0*

I have two Grizzl-E chargers. One is a Grizzl-E Smart (40A), and the other is a Grizzl-E Ultimate (48A). The app works great with the Ultimate, but not so much with the Smart. I honestly think that the Smart is defective after 18 months. I’ve emailed back & forth with help desk at least a dozen times. The thing is defective and they just keep telling me to make additional changes to my home network that are absurd. My eero 6Pro network is solid and the chargers are connected to the 2.4 GHz channel, just like the Ultimate and a bunch of other devices. I have an extender out in the garage, centrally located on the ceiling and the Smart just won’t stay attached to the app, while the eero network shows it’s connected and active. It just needs service. I just wish they’d authorize a repair and send me a fedex label to ship it back already. Enough.

### 3/5 — Room for improvement

*2026-05-07, version 1.4.0*

Couldn’t find a way to delete a charger from my account

Would be nice to be able to enter rates by season then by time

And to get a monthly consumption total BY PORT!

And for the case of the DUO I would like to be able to rename the plugs to the car name.

### 3/5 — Should add timer

*2026-04-21, version 1.3.2*

App is mostly decent, scheduling is pretty easy, but there should be a timer function where I can tell it to charger for 4 hours then turn off.

### 2/5 — Okay once you set it up

*2026-03-05, version 1.2.1*

So this app is absolutely useless for configuring the charger. It constantly will either not log in, say there is no connection or just spin.

If you manually set up the WiFi outside of the app, then the app is good for managing the charger

### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-01-29, version 1.1.1*

Ultimate 48. Connecting the charger to the app is a bit unconventional, but for me, not a problem. The app is so much better than the Wallplug app of my previous EVSE. Two requests:
#1 With the “Mode” screen I would like to see what current it is set for.
#2 When setting up electricity rates, I would like an option for the stat holidays to also have a schedule, or in my case, the option to mimic my weekend schedule.

### 2/5 — Francisco

*2026-01-06, version 1.1.1*

Always is offline the app although the charger is connected to WiFi.

### 1/5 — Notification abuse

*2025-12-29, version 1.1.1*

Constantly reminds you that your car stopped charging. FOR DAYS. Over and over and over DID YOU KNOW YOUR EV STOPPED CHARGING. GET LOST

### 1/5 — Very hard to use

*2025-12-21, version 1.1.1*

Trying to connect a duo charger, does not show up on wifi, greyed out screen when I scan the qr code. Extremely frustrating.

### 3/5 — Pretty bad

*2025-12-19, version 1.1.1*

I wanted to support a Canadian company but this app is terrible. Endless issues trying to connect my charger via wifi so add it via serial number. Once it’s added via serial number there’s no obvious way to connect it to wifi even when connected to the chargers adhoc network. There’s also no obvious way to remove a charger from your account, which is an issue because now I can’t retry adding the charger via wifi since it insist it’s already added (even though I can’t connect). And when trying to delete account I just get an unhelpful “- internal server error”. Did eventually get it connected thanks to the documentation but the app should walk you through those same steps.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is useless

*2026-07-24, version 1.6.0*

Charger is okay but with no app connection and no customer support, it’s pretty tough to recommend the product

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work ever

*2026-07-05, version 1.5.1*

Can’t even get it to connect even though wifi shows it’s connected

### 1/5 — App and charger suck

*2026-07-03, version 1.5.1*

Brand new out of the box unit has 3 faults and does nothing but flash errors

### 1/5 — Brutal app Brutal tech support

*2026-06-10, version 1.4.0*

The app doesn’t even connect properly. The unit doesn’t connect to the wifi. The tech support is even worse. DO NOT BUY GRIZZL-E CHARGER!!!

### 1/5 — Unreliable schedule feature

*2026-05-14, version 1.4.0*

Like others have commented, it does not reliably follow the schedule you set in the app. In the app it will say charging stopped but when I go to my car or check my house power consumption (emporia vue meter), it shows the car kept charging several hours after it should have stopped.

This resulted me in charging on peak rates. After this happened several times, rebooting the charger, unplugging it and waiting, and confirming all the schedule settings are right, it still happens.

So without a reliable schedule function I just started using it as dumb charger set to charge now, and then set an alarm on my phone to remind me when to go back into the app and change charging to disabled.

But even that doesn’t work reliably! Tonight I switched to disabled now, it confirms in the app, and later I just happened to pass my garage and see the green light on the charger which shows it IS in fact charging and my car dashboard confirms it has been charging hours on peak rates.

App is unreliable!

Also a safety hazard because I set a max current limit in the settings and all schedules for 10 amps but it has on occasion charged at 30 amp!

### 1/5 — What’s the point of this app?

*2026-05-01, version 1.4.0*

After several attempts via wifi and serial number this wouldn’t connect. As well as- I have a Canadian address and it wouldn’t accept the address to complete a log in attempt. After - few hours wasted I gave up. The unit runs power to car- which is all I need it to
do. App is terrible.

### 1/5 — Can’t use my WiFi password

*2026-04-10, version 1.3.2*

Ok, so when you buy a smart device, you just want it to work. You don’t change your WiFi password for one device.

This this app doesn’t let me configure my password because it has a forbidden character. But I have loads of other smart devices and computers and phones that don’t have this problem.

Their support page literally says “Ensure your network has a dedicated 2.4ghz Wi-Fi band with its own SSID.”! Never seen this in my life! It’s own SSID?

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2026-03-28, version 1.3.2*

Couldn’t connect either by wifi or serial number. The charger was “recognized” but wouldn’t connect.

### 1/5 — Connectivity SUCKS!!!

*2026-03-07, version 1.2.1*

The process for connecting to WiFi is not only completely outdated is is also completely useless. I have tried for hours and it still doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Connect

*2026-01-01, version 1.1.1*

No wifi detected. Will not connect with Serial Number, even if Serial Number is scanned directly from the unit. What’s the point of the app if the most basic function isn’t functional?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great

*2026-07-08, version 1.6.0*

Upgrades, firmware upgrades and remote access to the console works great. I’m able to change the Amperage and the necessary settings. Can’t complain 6 months in.

### 5/5 — Grizzl-E Is The Way To Go

*2026-07-08, version 1.6.0*

I’ve been using this charger for over a year now and after an initial range problem, I contacted the company and they worked through it with me and after receiving an extender, I’ve had no more problems. I have it programmed to come on during the night, usually about once a week, and it’s worked every time!

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-07-08, version 1.6.0*

Great charger, app works great. Really enjoy the stats and charts.

### 5/5 — Що на мою думку потробінотдороьити

*2026-06-07, version 1.4.0*

Доброго дня , користуюсь додатком кожного дня , вроді все том , чи можна у додаток добавити ще ліміт по часу та ліміт по кВт , станція це вміє робити а от у додатку немає , дякую

### 5/5 — Love this!!

*2026-04-23, version 1.4.0*

I love all the statistics and data it gives, and the control I have over the charger from my phone! We have two EVs and I prefer different settings for each. So far it’s worked great.

### 5/5 — Great Product and App!

*2026-04-08, version 1.3.2*

Been having a very easy and stable experience with the EVSE and app.

One suggestion, dim LED status light or disable completely?

### 5/5 — Easy to use and works great

*2026-03-26, version 1.3.2*

Setup was smooth and easy and I really like the features and reports.

### 5/5 — Easy to set up

*2026-02-13, version 1.2.0*

Great Canadian initiative for EV charging solutions.

### 5/5 — Minimal which is great!

*2026-02-04, version 1.1.1*

No problem whatsoever! Would be nice if there were shortcuts and widgets available, and maybe some work on the interface to give it a modern look! While keeping it as simple as it is right now…

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2025-11-05, version 1.0.1*

This is by far the highest quality charger on the market. Don’t waste money on the cheap ones. I got the mini so I can take it anywhere. It attaches to any outlet with included heavy duty adapters. You’ll notice it’s not cheap plastic right away. It is rugged and will last a lifetime. The charging system can be used remotely or without the app. The app has schedulers to keep costs low and is very responsive. Grizzl has a program that pays you to use the charger at the moment. I’m fully satisfied with this outstanding, made in North America, quality charger and app.
