What a joke! Get with the program developers!! *2025-12-30* UI emailed them today for the 3rd time…Lets see if they answer. I have emailed you 3 times and have not gotten a response yet. I paid good money for this app and at least deserve the courtesy of a response. This app is a very good attempt, but you have a myriad of bugs in it. I switched to your app from the best cooking/recipe app ever Paprika 3 because of your AI use. Let’s get it right people. 1. Whenever you scale a recipe, the amounts it scales to are often incorrectly applied. 2. When a recipe is scaled, it should also scale the ingredients in the directions! 3. The way this application syncs between devices is often confusing. It should let you know when it is synching. OH, and don’t have the “synch” button buried all the way at the bottom of the settings menu. 4. Quite often whenever you apply a scale (2x, 3x, 4x. Etc) you have to take the focus off of the page you're looking at and come back for it to be applied. 5. And PLEASE provide a setting option for IMPERIAL measurements!!!!! We are American and aren't in England. 6. And finally (for now) PLEASE ANSWER YOUR SUPPORT EMAILS!!!!!! OMG!! I just changed my password on macOS Sequoia 15.5 and ALL of my RECIPES except the ones that came with the app DISAPPEARED! That along with all my shopping lists, HUNDREDS of list ITEMS and list CATEGORIES, and EVERYTHING in my store shopping lists, including all of the stores that I had lists for. ARGHHHH. The good news is that I found a setting buried in the gear > Sync Settings > Push All Data On This Device and it restored everything, but I had to spend a half hour arranging everything back to where I had it before I changed my password. Save yourself some grief and not a little bit of panic and don’t change your password. ### 2/5 — No free trial! *2025-05-31* This app seems like it would be useful, but almost all the useful stuff (meal planning, inventory notifications, even scanning photos and receipts to manage inventory) is stuck behind a subscription. I’d love to trial it for a month or two, just to see how useful it is beyond meal prepping and planning myself. For now I’ll just use it as a cookbook… ### 4/5 — Imports Stopped Working-See Update! *2025-03-22* UPDATE 3.22.25 THE LATEST UPDATE RESOLVED THIS ISSUE! Thank you to the developer for sending me an email with the heads up! I was using the free version for a while, to see if this app would be something I'd use. I do like it and was just about to subscribe, when the import features just stopped working. It won't import from a URL, and it won't import by going to the website from the app. I'm glad it stopped Working before I shelled out the money. I'll just go back to saving recipes to my Google Drive. I never needed grocery lists anyway. **Developer response:** This is now fixed in the latest update v2.2.9. However, when I installed the app on a new computer, I was unable tolog on to my account. I requested to change my password at least five times, but couldn't get a response from the company. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible Upgrade *2026-04-23* WTH have you done. The upgrade comes with a terrible layout. Don’t know where to search for items to add shopping list easily. Where is the search function. Plus my recipe dashboard is no longer what I see first, I have swipe. I am not interested in the default recipes. Overall the new layout is terrible and not user-friendly. I am going to delete this app soon. ### 1/5 — Useless without subscription *2025-12-18* All I wanted to do was test the price comparing features to see if it is worth subscribing and can’t even do that. I would skip this app and go somewhere else, completely useless ### 1/5 — Potential *2025-07-24* This review is for the free version. You WILL NOT get scanning receipts with the free version. Must pay $15 a month which creates a dilemma: the people who benefit most from this app (budget conscious people who want to eliminate waste in cooking) are also the ones who can’t afford to pay the $15 a month subscription fee. I would recommend exploring other ways to monetize this app, maybe even seeking out investors and taking a short term loss as getting the user base you want on here would be substantially easier. People would be much more willing to recommend a free useful app rather than a free unuseful or even semi-useful app. Slowly begin to implement un-intrusive ways to monetize once you get to a point where you can leverage economies of scale (ex: with ads). Don’t paywall the most useful feature of your app, as that will likely drive would-be customers and future ad watchers away. I can use a bit more effort to send a photo to chatgpt or deepseek and ask them to append my receipt onto a pre-existing excel sheet for 0 cost. I’m not telling your team to become a charity, rather if you want to grow, get your user base ADDICTED TO THIS APP. Make your most useful feature FREE. ### 1/5 — no data export *2025-03-10* means as soon as the app eventually disappears or is sold, so goes MY data. it needs a data export. i will not change my rating until this is added. without data export, the devs are exploiting users intentionally. ### 1/5 — Misleading features *2025-02-04* I can’t get any AI to work. I’ve scanned barcodes of >30 items in my pantry and fridge and nothing has been auto identified. I have to manually enter and take pictures of every item. There’s an ai import feature for food which claims you can take a picture to auto add to a list. It doesn’t work. Says item not found and also requires a manual add. There’s a link to buy items from grocers but it just links to their website. I still have to manually search and select all items. This is not a time saver. I had to pay for a month to determine this is non functional software. I’m canceling my subscription ### 1/5 — Difficult to use and misleading *2025-01-05* I was expecting a lot more AI generated recipe generation. This app is very manual and time consuming to use. I scanned probably 10 items with the barcode and it didn’t find any of the food items. Also the free trial does not include any of the advanced features which is super misleading. I’m new to this app, I have paid for it and can’t use the features. Bar scanning throws an error at me. How does the price comparison work? It says for identical items…why would I have multiple rice for instance on my list? Why doesn’t it price compare at local stores? Also why can’t I choose the stores where I shop? Why do I have three times as many options on my iPad?
