I’ve never been able to get my app to merge both the stay on my phone and the data in the group. I just tried for maybe the 30th time (call me crazy?) and I’m now stuck in an endless loop of syncing that never goes anywhere and is holding my app hostage so I can’t use it. Incredibly frustrating. It would be very helpful to be able to establish a new “store” independent of your list. I’ve never figured out how to enter my own version of “store” and it’s been very frustrating because there are other lists I would like to make than grocery stores or other actual stores. Personal lists. I have loved this app and have used it every time I’ve been to the grocery store for years. But the syncing issue is an extremely frustrating one. My husband and I try to sync the same list in the same group on our phones and have never seemed to be able to sync well enough to get the job done. I, too have searched for a user manual. I haven’t tried this time, because I’ve read other reviews in which people complain about the lack of one. When I arrived at the grocery store, I found that the list would not sync due to an “internal server error.” Provided feedback in the app to report it and received only an automated reply. It’s been several hours now and there is still a server error. I’ve been using it since it was free! ### 5/5 — Still the best I’ve used *2025-10-27, version 5.7.5* I’ve used Grocery Gadget off and on for years based on my living situation and nutritional needs, and I’ve recently committed to intermittent fasting,tracking my food and budgeting for a consistent grocery bill. I’ve tried other grocery list apps that seem more modern or have features like recipe import or expiration date tracking. But they weren’t as effective to me in the real world. I’m experimenting with my eating plan for certain periods, whether weekly or monthly in trying different foods from different stores and Grocery Gadget has made it easy to add edit and re-organize the foods that I buy, and it is intuitive to use. One of my favorite features is the ability to go on the website and import foods that I track in mynetdiary through a CSV file. Have to copy and paste into an Excel sheet to reformat the import, but it works well based on the number of foods I have without having to enter them manually. There seems to be a bug or human error, where I enter the prices in the spreadsheet and it doesn’t import so I have entered those manually. Otherwise it works well. The changes or updates or features I’d like to add would be dark mode, a price per unit calculation, such as the price of an item for a pound at one store compared to the price per pound at another store other than just the price itself. Right now, I make multiple entries for the different sizes, so if I want a bag of frozen chicken breast, at one store they may have 8 pounds, a second store may have 3 pounds, yet another store would have 10 pounds. Grocery Gadget shows the best price, but not necessarily the best value. I will continue use it for groceries and household items with the handy multiple list feature and I may even reconsider resubscribing again if the ads become a nuisance! ### 5/5 — Great app *2025-10-11, version 5.7.5* The review below still applies. But now I have an issue with ads still showing even though I have paid. Support only sends robo replies which don’t apply. Can’t get a real person to address the issue. A previous problem was treated the same way. I love that it has categories plus aisles which are all customizable. Makes shopping at my local supermarket a breeze. The only downside is that randomly all my favorites with their categories & aisles disappeared. Everyone has it (two parents and three kids) and we add things to the grocery list as we use the items. But all of sudden it has stopped syncing!!!! No one’s list syncs to the others anymore! Seems to of stopped working around Christmas time. It shows up at the TOP OF the LIST like I already have that in my master list (I do NOT) and it has selected as adding “1” ??!! WTH?! I used to recommend this app to everyone I knew it was so good.
