Why not? Thank you. ### 3/5 — Great App until you upgrade phone *2025-02-03* I LOVE this app but just got a new iPhone and it was the only App where the data didn’t transfer from iCloud. Sent an email to app support but not sure if I’ll get an answer. Bummer if I have to recreate all my various lists and subsequent data. ### 3/5 — I miss the old version - pre-iPhone14 *2023-09-11* APP CREATORS::…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE build a way to find the items that have been deleted as done items ~ OR ~ REMOVE the DELETE ALL option. Here is why I’m asking for that….. Today while grocery shopping I had about 10 items left on my list to get and as I was removing the items I had in my cart when a person accidentally bumped into me causing me to accidentally click delete all items….and POOF the entire shopping list gone with NO WAY to get it back. Like others I had the old version on my old phone but since I upgraded the phone the old version wouldn’t work on the new phone, I was frustrated because I had so many items on my grocery list I was not looking forward to putting in items information again, but I took my lumps and figured there was no other way….I LOVED the simplicity of the old version of the app and there was no way to delete all items on the list ONLY the checked off items of the list. ### 3/5 — Not bad, but could use a couple more options. *2023-08-16* I’d been using the old version of this for years and liked it much better. It would be nice if there was the option to not display the amount and price. Or only display it if something is written there. It just makes it too cluttered. I prefer to keep it simple. Also needs the option to customize the order of the categories so that it displays in the order that you would shop. For example, I would like to move the frozen foods category to the bottom since it’s the last items I would pick up. ### 2/5 — Don’t bother…. *2023-07-30* The writers have pretty much abandoned this app, it seems. The last update actually made organizing your lists more fragmented. Now, it randomly “turns off” the iCloud connection (despite still indicating it’s connected in the settings). Once you go back in, turn it off and on again, it changes and/or adds to your custom categories. It was really useful and user friendly at one point but it’s becoming more trouble than it’s worth. Since there hasn’t been an update in years, I’m guessing the owners have moved on. ### 3/5 — Unnecessary Changes *2023-07-02* I am unable to transfer or download the older version of this grocery list on new phone. The older version seems to have worked better with more options to categorize the different stores I shopped at e.g.( WalMart , London Drugs, Safeway, Fresh Street Market, etc ) . ### 3/5 — Give me back the original *2023-06-15* Like the first review, I got a new phone and all of a sudden I couldn't use this app anymore. Apparently they have revamped it and I don't like it at all because there's ads I don't want ads popping up and I don't want to pay to have them to not pop up. I'm sure I will get used to the app but it's not as smooth as the other app there's too many steps. A lot of things end up in none whereas Frozen Food and Condiments and even Pasta’s and rice. You could categorize it with the grocery isles ### 2/5 — Not so great *2023-04-23* The old version of this app was great. Use to be able to sync with other devices. Now if I use other devices I find items disappear. Also with the old version it would stay open the entire time your shopping. This version. If you don’t keep touching the Screen it shuts down and you have to keep reopening it. Shopping List was superior. ### 2/5 — Upgrades needed! *2023-01-26, version 1.1* I thought this was an updated version of an (excellent) free app I had however I was wrong! I’m unable to sync or share lists with this app and the lists are not fully customizable i.e., can’t turn off amounts, cost or remove the default list in settings. The app needs quite a bit work to be useable. ### 3/5 — Could be a lot better *2022-11-19, version 1.1* Needs to add sync with family members and also to set currency. This looks a lot like an old app called shopping list which has recently stopped syncing. ### 2/5 — Needs update *2022-11-05* The developer should update the app to enable editing the order of categories so they can correspond to the aisle order at your grocery store. Please bring back the old app ### 1/5 — Bring Back the Old Version! *2023-08-26* I just got a new phone and realized that I couldn’t download the old version of this app. The old version of this app was amazing! I used it constantly and loved it. Why would they change it? This new app is TERRIBLE! It has added “features” that no one wants, and the interface is not as user-friendly. I dislike the “default” vs “custom” list categories as I liked it all being as one. I also dislike the price being listed even when I didn’t add a price. The ads on this app are just so awful. I would have been happy to pay for a premium version to keep the old one. There’s no way I’m going to be able to use this - I’ll just end up getting annoyed. I guess it’s back to good old pen and paper! ### 1/5 — Used to love it *2023-07-18, version 1.1* Recently, this app has developed a problem syncing to the cloud. One day it’ll be fine and I will have my list to shop for, the next day it’ll all be gone and indicates it’s not synced to the cloud. I’ll be deleting and trying a new app. ### 1/5 — Can’t share with spouse *2023-05-04, version 1.1* The old version allowed me to cloud share my lists with my spouse so we could always know what was needed for our joint household. This new app i cannot see any way for my lists to be jointly accessed by my spouse. The ads are insanely annoying. Constantly I accidentally click ‘delete all’ in the middle of shopping ‘delete all’ should not be the top option when clearing out a list. SO annoying. I miss the old version so much 😭 I am deleting snd finding something else. ### 1/5 — Old version was much much better. *2022-09-17, version 1.1* Can’t customize categories (oh by the way, there’s a spelling error), and now it wants to install Google Chrome. This app is too cumbersome to use, takes up way too much space and in attempting to make it easier for me to input items, it is not user friendly. The old version allowed me to create and taylor my own categories from what or whom which was much easier to read. Terrible disappointed in this one. ### 1/5 — Really Bad *2022-09-10* I’ve been using the previous version for years which I originally paid for. Now they have taken the app that I paid for away and want me to pay for this sad updated version. Syncing has been removed which was the most useful option (I assume until they add it and want you to pay more for it) no money from me until the previous version is restored fully, no ads, no monthly subscription, no in app purchases. ### 1/5 — New phone new bad app *2022-09-02, version 1.1* New phone & old app “no longer” in App Store. Deleting it!!!! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Favorite list app *2024-10-05* I have gone searching for this app multiple times when I have switched phone as I really think it’s the best app. Never had an issue with functionality. I love that you can have multiple list and it remembers what you buy for easy future adds. Only negative is I wish you could easily text or send the list to someone else ### 5/5 — Love this App *2023-09-27* I’ve used this app for 5+ years. It took a little time to set up but it’s worth it. When I go grocery shopping I don’t like going up and down all the isles looking for an item. My list was created by isle number and what’s on each isle. I create my list at home and I only see items I need by isle. So I can start at isle 20 (for example) then skip isles and go directly to the next isle where I need an item. That isle may be 8, therefore skipping 12 isles. Separate lists can be created for each store you shop at. If you enjoy going up and down each isle then by all means do so. If you would rather get in and get out, this list is amazing! ### 5/5 — Same Great List I Had On My Last iPhone *2023-05-20* When my great old shopping list app was no longer available on my new iPhone, I went searching for a replacement. Everything I found was just complicated overkill and not user friendly for such a simple need. So it was great to find this app, which looks like the new version of my old one. Easy to set up (sad not to be able just transfer my old list items to this new one) and effortless to use. There are some new options that I’ll probably check out later, but with this app I’m back in business and on my way to Vons now! If you're new to shopping list apps, this one is a great choice and it’s free. ### 5/5 — Great app *2022-03-05* I used List Ease until it was no longer supported. Then I used Grocery Gadget but it got glitchy. I found this app several weeks ago and I really like it. It is easy to build your own library of items including prices. I love that you can create your own categories. It is very pleasing to look at, no glare. And you can choose to only see items that are not crossed off. The only thing I would like to see is more than one line of text for the item name. For items with long names, not all the text is visible from the list. Otherwise this is an outstanding app. I don’t need or want an app that includes recipes, auto-adds from recipes, meal-planning etc. I need to be able to check item availability in my local store apps to be sure it’s in stock and to see which version of the item is lowest-priced before adding to the list. This list gives me complete control over my list and I appreciate that. ### 4/5 — I’m glad you’re back! *2023-09-26* I too was mad when my old app didn’t transfer onto my new phone. I tried 3 other apps before deciding to look longer on the App site. I didn’t give 5 stars as it’s a little confusing to set the categories & add your list. I have finally got it figured out & will be using my list on Thursday when I go grocery shopping. Otherwise, I’m very happy to have you’re app back on my phone. I wish it had the ability to add tax.
