### 2/5 — Poor Update

*2026-02-11*

It was perfect as a basic app for years. A recent update to make it look more modern just made it annoying to use.

**Developer response:** We have updated the app to allow you to change between light and dark mode. The version you had was using the system settings on your phone to display. Hope this helps and happy shopping!

### 3/5 — Pretty great until they changed the layout

*2026-01-25*

Used to be very easy to organize and use. Last update they made the background dark and now it’s hard to read and items are not as obvious. This isn’t an art project for school. It’s supposed to be as useful as possible. Save your creativity ideas for other projects and make this functional first! Also, would be nice if they listed ALL ITEMS in alphabetical order. Some are, some are not. Makes looking much harder.

**Developer response:** We have updated the app to allow you to change between light and dark mode in the app settings. The version you had was using the system settings on your phone to display. Hope this helps and happy shopping!

### 4/5 — Wish they had more through instructions

*2019-10-20*

The instructions on how to add or delete (mostly add) are lacking to say the least. It is a better alternative than adding an item to my calendar which just clogs it up. Better alternative but not a particularly great app. None the less it is useful.

### 3/5 — Stay simple

*2019-08-24*

I agree with an earlier reviewer. It may fill some niche, but just stick with the Notes app on your phone and you’ll be fine.

### 2/5 — Glad I Got It When It was Free

*2019-08-03*

I’d have been kinda mad if I paid for this. It was featured on the free apps a while back. Figured it might be better than notes app, but it’s not. It’s clunky and tedious. I just much prefer using the notes app. And it’s free

### 4/5 — Crashes a lot, tedious to add items

*2019-04-12*

Bottom line:
just use your built-in notes app.

To simply add something to a list, you must go through a rigamarole of picking your item from some pre-defined category. When, of course, your item is not in one of those categories (or in the wrong one), you have to put it in some category. Can’t be left alone or it gets lonely, apparently. And then when you type in an item and it is mistaken for something else, you CAN’T put it in ANY category directly. You have to edit the categories then add your item that way. How hard should be to type in an item you want on a list? I guess the developers of this app thought it would be more useful as a game you can’t win.

### 3/5 — Okay but clunky

*2019-03-29*

I've been using this app for some time, so am writing from experience.

In general, the app is okay... but often involves too much work.

1. It forces you to add items to categories.

2. After you add an item, you have to select it again to actually add it to your list.

3. Items in lists are not ordered, making it difficult to find an item you've purchased before and want to purchase again.

4. It sometimes won't let you add an item if one that shares a first word is already taken.

I'm looking for a replacement app.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the excellent review. Let us know what app you choose.

### 2/5 — Nag attack

*2018-12-21, version 1.3*

Constantly asks to allow notification and for a review.

### 4/5 — Comparing good & bad reviews

*2018-12-01, version 1.3*

In my reviews, I take several things into consideration. The apps intuitive use, its ability to get the job done, it’s appeal, and the responsiveness of the developer. I’ve come across great apps that aren’t kept up or the dev doesn’t respond to the users, so this is very important to rating the app.

I’ve seen good reviews and bad reviews for this app and I think I understand why. It’s strong and useful, but I can see that for some users, this app may not feel like it has what it needs, but that’s because the user doesn’t understand the workflow. I’m going to take a guess that many of the bad reviews are from people who are used to Microsoft’s “Apply” & “Ok” system where many Apple users are used to not needing these confirmations. If you are used to both systems, you can understand what I mean and you might also see the small gap. I’ve used a shopping list app that covered this gap, but it wasn’t kept up after ios9. Otherwise, this app has a lot of things that some users aren’t seeing.

To the developer:
On the iPhone, I put in KozyShack Cinnamon Raisin Pudding and applied it to the “Snack” category. When I put it in my list, I set the number at “6”, but when reviewing my list, I couldn’t see how many I needed to buy because the name is long and doesn’t allow room whereas the iPad is wider and does show the number. I think if you either truncate the name or carry over the “How Many” to the next line would help. I don’t want to change the name as that brand has several items with a similar name and if I give the list to my wife, she needs to be able to see the exact name.

The other thing for the dev is that one of the reasons there are some bad reviews is because a few of the pages look so similar that the users think they are in the same place and don’t realize that there are different options other than what they saw on the similar looking page so they assume that the function isn’t there.m and they don’t realize that all they need to do is tap the back button and it’s set. Others may be able to notice the difference and know what to do. My solution would be to make something specific for whatever page you are on so that the users have a clear visual of the separate functional pages. It seems over simplistic, but I really think that it would change a lot of those bad reviews into good reviews. Years ago, my company bought a $30,000 software package to run some very important hardware. One of the problems was that the users always thought they were in the same place because the developers didn’t see the need to title the different windows, which all looked the same. From their point of view, they developed the package and were very familiar with exactly where they were at after clicking on one thing or the other, but what they weren’t realizing was that the users were completely new and coming to it with visions of other software in mind, so they didn’t know exactly how it worked and felt lost very easily. It took me a while to convince them to just title each window which was easy enough to do and made things more clear for the users. They didn’t want to, but after reminding them that we just put out $30,000 for them to customize it to fit our needs, they finally saw the light. I understand this is long, but if you would like my input on how to bridge that gap so that some of those users don’t need to post bad reviews, let me know the best way to contact you. I’ve got some ideas that might be an easy fix.

### 3/5 — Limitations

*2018-09-30*

There does not seem to be a way to add custom items to your shopping list. You have to select from a predetermined list of items. If the item you want to add to your shopping list is not in the list of predetermined items, then you are just out of luck.

**Developer response:** Hi Dunsboro,
That's not true. You can add as many items as you want. Either add while you're searching for items in the fast list or add in the My Items tab of the app. Reach out to us if you're still having trouble.

### 1/5 — IOS26 change

*2026-01-23*

NOT HAPPY!!! Changed my specialized lists that I put a lot of time into. These were set up by where items are located by aisle in my store. Those of us with disabilities can’t be running back n forth for missed items. All that so you can tie in directly with the grocery chains? I will be deleting.

### 1/5 — New Version

*2026-01-22*

The old format was much easier to use and navigate. Bring back that as an option please.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever.

*2019-04-29, version 1.3*

All this is is a glorified notepad. Save yourself the time and didn't download it.

### 1/5 — Crash, Crash, Crash

*2019-04-27*

Downloaded the ap, started a list, got halfway done. CRASH. Reopen, everything lost, start over. CRASH. Data lost again. Really?

Not seeing a need for this. If I have to type in “milk” to pull up milk, why not just type it in the notes ap and save the redundancy and Incessant crashes? Seems a fancy way to make a simple thing take longer than it should.

1 star for an ap that simply doesn’t work. Even if it did, notes seems far, far more efficient.

I’m on the latest iPad Pro fully up to date. Same experience on my iPhone 8 also up to date.

**Developer response:** Hey Pixel Passion, we love the passion but hate the crash situation. Super sorry to hear. Please send an email to our support group and we will fix ASAP!

### 1/5 — Seriously, be patient

*2019-04-27, version 1.3*

Continuously prompted to review the 1st time using the app. Let me test it a reasonable amount of time before bombarding me with the prompts.

### 1/5 — Developer Response

*2019-04-02*

"Thanks for the feedback and the one star. We give you the ability to add in any category you want. 🙄"

hmmm 🤔 nice to hear that categories can be “added in”. Rather than ‘Attitude’ a little instruction would have been helpful and, yes, warranted a rating update. Seriously 😳

**Developer response:** Hi RDS46, We do give the ability to add in any category you wish. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Not usable

*2018-09-28*

App takes too many steps to create a list... and that too can only select predefined items. So if you are the type of person who only shops for the items in the predefined list, and does not mind the clumsy interface, then this is the app for you.

**Developer response:** That's not true. You can add as many items as you want. Either add while you're searching for items in the fast list or add in the My Items tab of the app. Reach out to us if you're still having trouble.

### 1/5 — Too difficult to navigate

*2018-09-09*

There are far too many steps. I'd just like to add an item to my shopping list. I don't need to name the list or categorize the items on the list.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. A lot of people want the ability to organize lists. No need to give a one star for personal preferences.

### 1/5 — Not what I was hoping for

*2018-08-31, version 1.1*

Buggy. Limited items. Hassle to add new items like Bread.

### 1/5 — Can’t write in items

*2018-06-24*

Apparently you have to be a shopper with very specific items on your list for this app to be useful.

**Developer response:** Our shoppers are the most discerning shoppers in the world. We add very specific items but also allow you to add your own. Happy Shopping.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nifty!

*2020-01-15*

Now I won’t forget to pick up butter or tortillas or milk!

It even allows me to specialize the items that I get, so I can itemize caramel macchiato coffee creamer and halfcalf coffee.

However when the app prompts me to review it it brings up a different app.

### 5/5 — App

*2019-08-25, version 1.3*

Convenient

### 5/5 — Cannot say anything negative...

*2019-05-03*

Cannot say anything negative about the app. I've tried a few and this so far the best. I did asked for an additional feature that another app had. Moving items from one list to another.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2019-05-03*

This is a great App to organize all of your shopping lists. Within a minutes I had three shopping list created and with the help of the preloaded items started to fill those lists. It is easy to add your own items to the preloaded things. Also nice that those lists are separated into different areas! Love it.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2019-03-02*

Once you understand how to work app, its easy to add your own items. I currently use notepad for my grocery list and have sometimes deleted too much when deleting items I have picked up. This app fixes that.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the awesome feedback. 🙌🏻

### 5/5 — Finally, an Intuitive Shopping/Grocery List App

*2018-12-02*

Despite the other person’s review exclaiming you can’t delete things, you can - just swipe left, like you do in most iOS apps.
The app is pre-populated with many categories, each containing a few examples of items. You can easily add your own items under the preloaded Categories, and you have the ability to add your own Categories, as well as items obviously.

Lastly, what’s really useful, is the ability to create multiple lists, so you can have one for your weekly staples, others for specific recipes or meal plans, plus you can sort them alphabetically and an added bonus, they’re exportable/shareable using the traditional iOS Share functionality.

Industrious users will soon realise that the app can be used for many other lists you may want/need to create, not just your grocery/shopping lists — admittedly with some erroneous data, such as “Quantity Required” but you can work around that.

Not sure what/where the in-app purchase is, but I don’t think you’ll need it. Finally, there’s no infuriating on-going subscription required to use the app – my new pet hate from greedy developers, along with website paywalls, but that’s a whole nother argument/discussion.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the excellent review! 🙌🏻

### 5/5 — Not sure why there are negative reviews?

*2018-10-18*

I’m very surprised that there are negative reviews on this app. I downloaded this and switching from another similar app, I’m not looking back. The reviewers are incorrect in what they’re saying, perhaps they’re just not taking the time to understand how to do what they’re trying to do. It has a simple uncomplicated interface and does what it should. Want to add categories, no problem. Want to add items, no problem. Want to edit the preloaded lists, no problem. I even ran into a small snag with customization, sent an email with the situation and it was fixed in two days! Very responsive developer! Two days! I love the app, please try it before listening to the negative reviews. 👍

**Developer response:** Thank you for the excellent review!

### 5/5 — Get today!!!

*2018-09-27*

The app is free for today and straightforward no hidden fees or anything does its job and lets you get on with your life I highly recommend if you are reading this today, it is free just for today.

**Developer response:** Thanks! 🙌🏻

### 5/5 — Annie vernon

*2018-09-27*

Find this app really good and with everything put in alphabetical order. Recommend it

**Developer response:** Thanks for the excellent review! 🙌🏻

### 4/5 — Almost Great App

*2021-11-03*

The app works great. Easy to use and adjust lists. It would be truly great if it would work between devices like tablet to phone.
