## What is Groove Home?

You're the family's chore project manager. The whole list lives in your head, you dispense it out loud, and the only reminder system is you — repeating yourself.

Groove Home takes that job off your plate. You set up the chores once; your kids open the app, see exactly what's expected today, and get rewarded for doing it. You stop nagging. They start owning it.

SET CLEAR EXPECTATIONS
Schedule a chore and assign it to a kid or post it as a gig any kid can claim for points. Add a reference photo that shows what "done well" looks like. No more "but I didn't know I had to do that too."

KIDS SEE THEIR DAY AT A GLANCE
No kid accounts or passwords, just one shared family login. Each kid taps their own profile tile, and sees exactly what's due. Photo check-ins let them show off their work when it's done.

EFFORT EARNS POINTS AND STREAKS
Every completed chore earns points. Finish everything on the list and a streak builds — with a bonus multiplier that encourages consistency. Your kid will love watching their points grow; you'll love not reminding them about their chores.

REWARDS YOU CONTROL
Build a reward catalog from things your family actually values, like a movie night, a sleepover, screen time, or a trip for ice cream. Your kids save up and redeem in the app; you fulfill in real life. Their points, their choice, your budget.

YOU SEE EVERYTHING
The parent dashboard (protected by your PIN) shows who's done what today, recent photo check-ins, pending reward requests, and every kid's streak. Vacation mode pauses chores without breaking streaks — because no one should lose their bonus while away at camp or spending the day with grandma.

BUILT FOR REAL FAMILIES
• Ideal for helping younger kids build strong habits and learn responsibility
• You add and manage your kids' profiles on one device
• Reference photos set the standard; proof photos show off work to be proud of
• Repeat schedules: daily, weekdays, weekends, weekly, monthly, or one-off
• Streak bonuses that reward consistency
• Time off / vacation mode that protects streaks
• One subscription covers the whole family

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-03

This update fixes a bug that could make streaks disappear.

If you edited a chore — changed its points, added a photo, adjusted a setting — that edit could quietly erase the chore's past and reset your kids' streaks, with nothing showing as missed. That's fixed. Streaks are recalculated from scratch every time, so if yours looked wrong, updating should put them right.

• Editing a chore no longer affects past completions or streaks.
• Tap any chore in today's list to mark it done or excuse it.
• Reopening a completed chore now tells you exactly what will happen before you confirm.
• Excused chores stay visible in history, so you can always see (and undo) what you forgave.
• More reliable when your phone is offline: actions now tell you if they didn't go through, instead of failing quietly.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-28

Groove now works across all your family's iOS devices — plus more ways to keep chore history fair and accurate.

• Sign in anywhere: add an email & password under Settings → Email sign-in, then use it on the family iPad or another parent's phone. Same family, same chores and points, accessible from any shared family iOS device.
• History now goes back 30 days (up from 7) for parents and kids.
• Excuse a chore: life happens. An excused chore won't count as missed and can't break a streak — and you can undo it anytime.
• Mark a missed chore as done: for when the work happened but the tap didn't. Points include the streak bonus from that day, and streaks repair automatically.
• New per-chore setting, "Allow finishing early": turn it off for chores that only make sense on the day — bins night, feeding the dog.
• Filter history by family member.
• Nicer emails and small fixes throughout.
