## What is GroundLog?

GroundLog is the field compliance log for environmental inspectors, built by one.

Everything you document on a construction site lives in one place: structured daily logs, a live GPS field map you can draw on, geotagged photo documentation with a compass overlay, BMP and restoration tracking with real progress math, and polished inspection reports generated from your own notes.

DAILY LOGS
• Structured cards for site observations, crew and contractors, weather, compliance checks, and open items
• Carry forward yesterday's entries and edit from there instead of retyping
• Close the day as an immutable, versioned submission with a certification line
• Works fully offline; syncs when you're back in coverage

FIELD MAP
• Draw work areas, trace perimeter controls, drop markers and punch-list flags right on the map
• Track every feature by state: planned, installed, stabilized, removed
• Import KML/KMZ plan layers and georeferenced plan sheets as overlays
• Net disturbed-area math that handles overlaps for you

PHOTOS
• Native camera with a live compass bearing and caption overlay
• Every shot is geotagged, pinned to the map, and filed by date and category
• Seed-tag and bag-weight capture for seeding and restoration records

INSPECTIONS AND REPORTS
• SWPPP qualified-inspector inspection form with a signed PDF export
• Daily inspection report (DOCX/PDF) assembled from the day's log, photos, and map, polished by AI only when you ask
• Tracker exports to Excel, map data to KML/KMZ, photos bundled with their metadata

WEATHER AND TRIGGERS
• Site rainfall from public radar-derived data plus the NWS forecast for your jobsite
• Open-item reminders that follow the rules you set

PROJECTS AND TEAMS
• Work alone, or invite your team with role-based access
• Your notes stay private until you submit a day or share an item; reviewers see only what you published
• Sign in with Apple, Google, or email

YOUR DATA IS YOURS
• Export everything, anytime, in open formats: DOCX, PDF, XLSX, KML, ZIP
• Delete your account and all associated data from inside the app
• No ads, no tracking, no selling of data. Ever.

Built for environmental inspectors, qualified inspectors, and field compliance teams on solar, transmission, pipeline, and civil construction sites.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-10-08

Compliance log, shared with the crew
• One compliance log per project. Every Lead and Boots on the project sees it live and can edit any entry. Reviewers see what has been published.
• Every entry shows who logged it and who changed what, with the full history a tap away.
• Choose which teammate items print in your daily report. Your own items always print.

Keep every phone current
• The app tells you when a newer version is on the App Store. Account Settings shows the version this device runs, and Members shows each member's build.

Inspector identity
• Account Settings has an Inspector section for your credential and organization. Every SWPPP inspection you create prints your name in the header and the certification, on any project.

Reports
• A daily report written before projects existed can be filed under its project once, then lists only there.
• Every send and export sheet names the open project and stops you on a mismatch.

Field Map
• Search finds any layer feature, access point, drawing or pin by name, offline.
• Access point records export as one PDF per road, plus a package with photos, KML and CSV.
• Access point and record numbers are never handed out twice.

Settings
• Grouped headings. Crew block titles are a per project list with a picker on every crew block. Routine inspection frequency and the post storm inspection trigger are per project settings.

Security and stability updates.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-10-06

Generate Report now asks how much AI you want: As typed, Polish selected fields, or Full AI write up. Your daily log is never rewritten, and Field Observations prints the way you wrote it.

Also in this version:
- Daily report layout per project: a project can print its daily on an owner issued field report form, with a second logo slot and a choice of fonts.
- Access points: existing condition records, and a guided photo run where the compass shows which way to face for each shot.
- Map: checked layers draw when the map opens, and a tap opens the shape you tapped.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-01

Access point records: a new tracker category with a four slot photo set for road access documentation. Tap a pin, tap a slot, shoot, and the record fills itself in, with the caption set and a compass check on each shot.

Also in this version:
- Compact photo ZIP option on tracker reports.
- Map: large imported areas no longer catch taps meant for smaller shapes, and long popups open folded.
- Faster map pins and lighter photo thumbnails.
- Support: a launch breadcrumb in Diagnostics, so a crash on startup can be traced.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-28

Your data, on request
• New Your data section on Project Space. Project leads can request a complete archive of a project and get download links for it.

Map layers
• Imported map layers are now Project or Personal. Project layers are shared with the team. Personal layers stay with you.
• Plan sheets belong to the project and can be shown or hidden one at a time or by folder.
• The Layers panel is grouped into KML Layers, Plan Sheets and Tracker Drawings.

Switching projects
• The map redraws compliance pins and field markers for the project you switch to.
• The new day check runs for each project on its own.

Camera
• Updated camera component.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-23

Each project keeps its own
• Settings follow the project you have open. Report branding, card labels and timesheet setup no longer carry over when you switch projects.
• Daily logs, day notes, the calendar, photos, compliance counts, timesheet history and map markers show the open project only. Nothing from one project shows up on another.
• Every day is filed under its project, so two projects can each have a log on the same date.

Photos
• Move photos to another project from the select bar.
• Recently Deleted shows the open project only.

Switching and the app bar
• Switching projects refreshes the page you are on.
• The reload button and the sync status stay visible with long project names.
