### 3/5 — Need a widget

*2026-08-13, version 1.1.28*

The app is overall good and I like all the features but what will make this app great is a widget I could put on my phone to keep me motivated.

### 2/5 — App Changed- NOT WORTH IT

*2026-07-21, version 1.1.28*

The owner, Heidi changes the app completely and it feels very misleading. There were 5 + trainers, tons of program options to follow anddd now there are SIX PROGRAMS…SIX…why am i paying all this months for SIX options and bs 4 week challenges that you dont even save on the app anymore. & dont try to comment with the “on demand” random workouts. PROGRAMS ARE WHAT BUILD RESULTS…i mean its what u preach too right?? Seems like the owner has pushed this to the side and it is disappointing. Do Better Grounds. Lied to ur members to get subscriptions then changed it all. Didnt expect Heidi to do that.

### 3/5 — Feels like it’s lacking investment now

*2026-07-17, version 1.1.28*

I love the app and overall organization. It just seems like ever since getting rid of the other trainers the team has been decreasing investment and strategy in corporation compared to before. Everything seems so stagnant compared to before, especially when you look at other companies in the same space. It doesn’t need to be a bunch of things all the time just every once in a while so it doesn’t feel like things are starting to shut down

### 3/5 — Issues

*2026-07-07, version 1.1.28*

I wanted to love this app but logging food is not super easy and the data base isn’t near as complete as I would like it to be.

### 3/5 — Great start

*2026-05-12, version 1.1.27*

Overall, it’s a nice app. Has a great selection of workouts, love the programs and the ability to swap out exercises. I also like the logging experience. My criticisms are mostly about the flexibility. I can’t find a way to build my own workouts or take the program workout as a starter and delete or skip sets. I have max an hour of time and there is no way I can do 25 sets using machinery in a public gym in less than an hour. The sheet interaction and UX in general is also a bit fumbly. Last note, I’d like the option to minimize the preview video of the exercise. Overall, there are great pieces of the app and I’m excited to see how it improves overtime, you can tell a lot of thought went into it. <3

### 2/5 — Workout length estimates are incorrect

*2026-03-11, version 1.1.25*

The workouts are very long and take at least 90 mins (which isn’t the worst thing alone, but the estimates given say they are 35-45 mins and then you open them up and it’s not the case. Also expensive. I’m a student (overseas) and it’s not worth it. Also not user friendly when trying to log your weights, you can’t just click on the one you want to log, you have to go through the whole workout-very annoying. Hopefully they improve.

### 2/5 — Great for beginners, meh for everyone else

*2026-03-06, version 1.1.25*

This app has great beginner-friendly workouts that you will enjoy at the start of using it. But after a few months, it all becomes mundane. You will find workout challenges are copy/pasted from prior months and it becomes bland. The app updates often and you have to manually update it even when auto updates are enabled–it kills my mood when I’m ready to go but I have to wait for the update. The food tracker is meh until more food options are built in. I wish I could remove the period tracker bc I had a hysterectomy and the TDEE option never gets updated. It doesn’t register my Samsung watch data to seamlessly integrate despite data sharing being allowed. This app has some serious growing to do. Until then, have fun with the community part.

### 4/5 — Beginner Friendly

*2026-02-20, version 1.1.23*

This app helped me get back into a workout routine! I like that it shows your past workouts, tracks the weight you’ve used on each exercise, and the video demos are clear and at a good pace. Now that I’ve gotten into the routine of using the app to guide my workouts, I wish that I could build my own circuits on here. You can search for individual exercises or make substitutions to an existing plan, but I want to save a custom workout plan that I make based on my favorite exercises and with the number of reps I want.

### 3/5 — Meh

*2026-02-09, version 1.1.22*

I wanted to love this app because it has a lot of features but it’s lacking. First I wish it had healthy recipes like some other apps I use. The home workouts are very limited. The cycle tracker is confusing and not super user friendly. Had to mess with it for a while to figure it out. Overall just wish it had more home options. Apparently we used to be able to add what equipment we had available and it would give more tailored workouts but they removed that option. I have some equipment but not all so I don’t know how to utilize all of the equipment I have available.

### 4/5 — Lacking one thing

*2026-01-20, version 1.1.18*

I love this app! It is convenient and has a large variety of workout options. The only thing that is lacking is the option to select alternative workouts. For example, choosing a workout challenge, if I don’t have long bands, being able to select alternative workouts different option is pretty critical. If a certain workout hurts your knees, back, etc. there is no option to do something else. For me, this is the only component that is preventing this from being the perfect workout app

### 2/5 — Needs more advanced training

*2026-01-12, version 1.1.17*

This is great if you’re brand new to the gym like it’s your first day but for someone that’s more advanced this is a little boring and truthfully I’ve been on here for two years and how many times can you run the same program for two years I feel like the trainers should have more than two programs on here

### 3/5 — Good idea

*2026-01-06, version 1.1.16*

I have been using this app for a year and I think that the concept of it is wonderful but I feel like it feeds off beginners because they wouldn’t really be able to spot what’s wrong. I really look up to the creator so please don’t take my honest review as the wrong way and I hope it fixes some things. The workouts seem thrown together and I am sometimes appalled at some of the sets that are listed when coming from a certified trainer. For example “Glute pushdowns” or “cable pull throughs” aren’t very effective and feel silly especially for a beginner in the gym who may be discouraged already. Why can’t the workouts just be strait forward? The supersets aren’t really practical as you will need to jump to different parts of the gym and when choosing to change the workout it doesn’t really have alternatives that fit that exact specific muscle.

### 3/5 — Might wanna find something else for tracking progress

*2025-12-30, version 1.1.15*

Having to update this app every other week just for it to not fix the one thing I’d like it to. You used to be able to track multiple workouts a day, now it only saves one per day. Ex - Pilates for 50 min, and later in the day I could track a hike. Now I have to track it on different days which consequently messes up my tracking progress and data, which is exactly what it’s not designed to be doing in the first place?

### 4/5 — Better than the rest

*2025-12-07, version 1.1.14*

I’ve tried a lot of fitness apps and this one is by far my favorite. I love having meal tracking, workouts and cycle all in one place. Variety of workouts is great.
Only complaint is the far too frequent updates. It’s really annoying to open it to start a workout but be unable to because I have to wait for an update - especially when it’s insignificant enough I notice no changes.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2025-11-22, version 1.1.10*

This app is excellent! However I wish there were more affordable payment options, such as 3 months or 6 months at a time instead of just yearly or monthly.

### 4/5 — Only missing 1 thing

*2025-11-13, version 1.1.9*

First, I LOVE this app! It is by far the best workout, all inclusive app I have found that is easy to use and follow. It takes the thinking out of having to make/ change your workouts. The reason for the 4 stars and the only thing not making this the perfect app is the ability to see an alternative workout option. For example, I have some gym equipment at home but not a full blow gym, you can only choose dumbbell or gym workouts. I would love to be able to do both.

### 4/5 — Needs more exercise options

*2025-10-11, version 1.1.5*

For someone who can do regular strict form body weight pronated pull ups and weighted pull ups using my dip belt I wish these exercises were an option. They are staples for me.

I would also like to see rack pulls as I do those sometimes instead of deadlifts since I have a background of competitive powerlifting.

Having boxing added for cardio would be nice as well. These are exercises I like to incorporate in my routine.

For the price of this app I feel like it should have more advanced options. Being able to record my lifts (so I can track my progressive overload) and estimated 1rpm depending on the weight you put in would be amazing as I see that in other cheaper apps like Fit notes.

I love the Buff bunny brand and like how Heidi is trying to incorporate everything in one app.

The other features (meals, water, cycle) are great.

Please add these features! It would be very much appreciated.

### 3/5 — Confusing

*2025-08-22, version 1.1.0*

I love the programs so much!! I just dont like when you pause the workout thats when you can see the settings and the “restart workout” is the whole thing not just one movement. I would prefer for the pause to actually be pausing and have the settings in a separate button. I also dont like that when you close your phone the timer doesn’t count down because it pops up the settings and everything even the timer doesnt work. Minor changes i would like for them to change to make it easier

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not for beginners

*2026-04-11, version 1.1.27*

This app is geared toward young gym girlies who are already in great condition. Unfortunately I am not, which is fine. It’s just not for me. My issue is customer service. I messaged them about paying for an entire year for an app that I don’t want because I did the trial but got automatically charged for a year. My mistake. Just would’ve appreciated some kind of response or suggestion for use.

### 1/5 — Period Tracker

*2026-02-21, version 1.1.23*

One of the main reasons for getting this was the “all in one” ease. After the last major app update the cycle tracking is completely useless and doesn’t work correctly 99% of the time. Truly makes me regret paying for the full year. I no longer recommend the app and suggest that if cycle tracking is important to you, you should definitely find another app.

### 1/5 — Cancellation

*2026-02-03, version 1.1.20*

I had canceled my subscription many months before the renewal date only to find out that I was getting charged again! I called my bank to stop the payment and dispute the charges. My phone even confirmed that I had canceled, so I don’t why I was getting charged. Poor business model. I would prefer zero stars

### 1/5 — App is not working

*2025-12-16, version 1.1.14*

My app has been on the fritz for o bout a week now. I can’t access any part of the app. Support has not been able to help either.

### 1/5 — Harassed for Notifications

*2025-09-02, version 1.1.2*

Never been bothered so much to enable notifications in my life. I subscribed ages ago and I guess it’s expired now, didn’t realise you can’t even log your weight without paying. I now can’t access my history without paying either. There are so many apps with weight logging for free… I don’t understand why this wouldn’t be free to create somewhere you always want to visit but hey… it’s been deleted. It never worked great and the workouts just gave me suggestions for equipment I didn’t have… so not so personalised either. What are you paying for?

### 1/5 — Kept charging after I cancelled

*2025-07-10, version 1.0.104*

App tried charging my card over 10 times after cancellation. Awful

### 1/5 — PLEASE ADD TWICE THE TIME

*2025-05-22, version 1.0.98*

I am flabbergasted that I have to pause the entire warm up and cool down and a ton of exercises because it says “both sides” but only has a timer for one set.

Also the warm up and cool down exercises are exactly the same which does not make sense .

I wanted to like this app and it’s mostly great but some of the exercises are seriously made up and could be replaced with more effective compound movements.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-03-11, version 1.0.88*

I truly love Heidi and I find the workouts themselves in the app to be very helpful, couldn’t hit the gym without them! The app however lacks quality. As an iOS dev myself, this is not the kind of work I would put in the appstore. The app asks me to enable notifications every time I open it, which means they never save my preference to NOT have notifications enabled!! I was really looking forward to tracking my breakfast this morning. It took 3 whole minutes for the spinner to end and to get “no results found” for spinach! I would upload some screenshots and videos if I could but cannot here. It pushed like 10 bottomsheets for the search error message. Heidi please hire some quality devs to make fixes and get the app to a stable place!

### 1/5 — Not great

*2025-02-24, version 1.0.86*

Was advertised as the only app you need for fitness, nutrition, and health. That just was not the case. Bought the app when it first came out, but it was so cumbersome I stopped using after the 1st month. Could not get a refund. I did try it again before my membership expired, but it wasn’t any better so I just deleted it.

Workouts: Clunky. Once you start a workout from one of the programs, you are stuck doing it in the exact order and resting at preset rest intervals. No way to skip a set or rest interval. You can swap an exercise but their library of alternatives wasn’t great and no easy way to manually add your own. It’s not realistic in the gym when you need flexibility to switch the order of workouts or adjust your rest time. The free version of the Strong app is WAY better.

Nutrition: not as comprehensive as MyFitnessPal and also a little clunky to use.

They do take community feedback, but fixes like updates to the workout structure seem like they should be a priority since the app is advertised as being a replacement for popular apps that are more robust and work better. If you’re advertising that your app is better - make sure that’s actually the case.

Money down the drain and I’ve spent a lot with BuffBunny and usually love what Heidi does.

This app was disappointing.

### 1/5 — Search function is frustrating

*2025-02-06, version 1.0.83*

The search engine function quite literally does not work making it hard to substitute movements. Also wish there was a “check mark” function next to each movement so I can keep track of which movements I have done since I don’t always go in order. After this subscription is done I will not be repurchasing. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE HIGH STARS, MANY PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY FANS OF HEIDI, I am too. But I respect her enough to actually give credible feed back on her app. Biggest room in the world is room for improvement and this app needs a lot of improvement.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — ANAYA

*2026-06-15, version 1.1.27*

I just paid for my 3rd year with Grounds. When I tell you the community is everything, it’s everything. Anaya has always helped me with any assistance I may need. Recently, my app was glitching on payments and she was THE MOST PATIENT. I’m proud to celebrate my 3rd year with the best girlies.

### 5/5 — One Stop Shop Fitness App!

*2026-03-15, version 1.1.25*

Amazing workouts, instructions for form, and diet tracking. I especially love that it times out the rest periods & has tracking for the weight you use to track your progress. 10/10!!!

### 5/5 — LOVEE THIS APP

*2026-03-03, version 1.1.25*

The programs are so easy to follow but also on demand workouts if you want to focus on something different. I love that you can substitute a work out for something else. There’s home workouts and gym programs and built in rest timers. I’m half way through the shred program and already seeing results. I plan to continue the other programs and it has been exactly what I needed for my fitness journey. Shoutout to Heidi and the Grounds team, I’ve been a member since 2024 and they continue to make the app better.

### 5/5 — This app is AMAZING!!!

*2026-01-05, version 1.1.16*

Jackie Morera approved! Lol it has everything you could want or need! Starting with workouts, meal tracking, water tracking, steps, period, and the list goes on!!! I am still learning more about it, but I am so excited to continue my fitness journey with Grounds! Thank you Heidi for this app! 🩷

### 5/5 — The best work out app

*2025-10-08, version 1.1.5*

I highly recommend!! I have seen a dramatic difference in my physical health and I can’t think of any other workout app that makes you sweat. It has literally everything from cycle tracking to what you eat all in one! Do it ladies you’ll thank me later

### 5/5 — Favorite Fitness App

*2025-09-29, version 1.1.5*

I love this app! Love that it has gym and home workouts. They are always coming out with new programs. Period tracking, macro tracking, a community chat.

### 5/5 — Best App Ever

*2025-09-15, version 1.1.4*

This app is amazing in so many ways! It helped me lose 26lbs in 12 weeks! Some of my favorite features are..It’s easy to navigate, has a macro counter, food tracker, period tracker and most importantly a community with amazing women! Sometimes the journey gets lonely, but it helps having other people with your same goals! They are always improving the app as well so that’s a huge plus!

### 5/5 — Worth the money

*2025-05-12, version 1.0.96*

This app is everything you need for diet and exercise. You don’t need a personal trainer, you need this app. I did the sculpt program twice and I’m so much stronger and toned than before. I started tracking my food on the app and paid attention to my protein and it made a huge difference. You guys have a subscriber for life.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-05-09, version 1.0.95*

I really really love everything about this app.

I wanted to make one slight suggestion though. For future updates, I would love to see a more narrowed down search option for when a particular workout needs to be modified. When I did the 12 week New Year challenge , I opted for the At Home program. Initally I was hesitant to try it because I wasn’t sure how great of a result I would get with minimal access to equipment at home . I had such amazing results doing the program. I really loved using bands for upper body workout days. With that being said, I would looooovvveeeeeee to see updates for older programs that are available to be both Gym and Home. I’m currently doing the Juicy challenge (which is gym based) and I don’t have a leg extension machine at home. When I go to modify, endless options load for me to swap out. I would love to see the option be narrowed down to 3-5 options that I can choose from so that it can be as close to accurate to the original. I would like to take the “having to think about it” part out the equation if possible 😅

Other than that, I love everything else about the App. Especially the mission and what Grounds stands for

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-05-07, version 1.0.95*

I am really loving this app. Also the ability to review previous work outs and track it all.
In the most recent update I am unable to play my music when on the app screen.
