Getting the timing down on the start and ending of loops is tricky but that can be solved by recording on any DAW h then editing and importing the loops one at a time. I use this app live where I couldn't with my Diditech Trio. I’ve been using Loopy for a long time, but when it comes to sections, footswitches, undo, ... , this one is far far ahead. I just don’t know why we don’t talk about this app as much as we talk about Loopy. It should be the standard. I use it with the blueboard to switch between verses, chorus and bridges. It’s main advantage over other loopers is that it allows you to easily make different sections for your compositions. It may not be the prettiest out there but the layout and operation strike a good balance between simplicity for live performance whilst allowing the possibility to tweak the mix by quickly adjusting levels, panning etc and also adding some very useable effects. ### 5/5 — pas mal du tout *2017-10-24, version 1.3.1* app très intuitive, le systeme de l’overdub et du undo est ce que je recherchais. I've tried more than a few looping apps and I find GTL to be the easiest and most intuitive to use. The quality of the recording comes out really well and I LOVE that the app is always being updated, the forum is informative and the developer amazingly helpful and responsive. A must have in your music making arsenal! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The good reviews must surely be fake??? *2026-02-06* This is the worst looper I have ever used. It crashed 5 times in the one day I used it. The tutorial locked up while I was using it and force quit. And when I finally managed to get a loop in, I discovered you cant change the timing of your recordings, so your microphone/headphones better have ZERO latency. Completely useless to me. ### 2/5 — Great idea that doesn’t work *2021-05-10* I just purchased this, regrettably. I’d read good things & the idea seems good. It doesn’t work as intended. I can’t import files by using Import buttons & dragging/dropping also doesn’t work. My 1 year old, fully updated ipad should have this running. iOS software is current. Useless and I will be requesting a refund ASAP. **Developer response:** Hi Tina, sorry about this. I can confirm this bug is now fixed in version 2.0.5. Thanks for reporting it. ### 3/5 — Group the loop *2020-05-07, version 2.0.2* I have no sound coming from the app, no sound from the tutorial as well, but I have sound everywhere else with other apps..., the mic’s is open in settings, and I can’t record any sounds at all... I’ve deleted the app 2 times to reset, no luck...but all other apps have no ˆproblems help!? ### 4/5 — Great app, but… *2025-07-01* When you go to select an AUv3 FX, nothing is in any discernible order. BLEASS Delay might 1/4 of the way down the list, while BLEASS Chorus might be down near the very bottom. Nothing is as alphabetical by plugin or developer. The only reason I didn’t rate it a full 5 stars is that I think you should be able to play the sections sequentially, automatically without having to touch the screen to cue the next section. That's not to say it's the best one. It's the best one for me. I am not an accomplished musician, nor do I consider myself very talented. I just love making music. It's so much fun and GTL is the looper that keeps me going for hours. One thing about bugs. If you have a problem, contact the developer by email. Giving a bad rating is not good for anyone. Imagine if the problem is your device, not tge app. You ended up having an undeserved negative effect on sales. Before that go to the developer to see if he can fix your problem and if not then it makes sense to give the app 3 stars or less. It's like buying a car that stops running after 2 days, so you tell the world that that model car is terrible. Then you find out it just needed gas. Imagine how many people could have de idea to buy a different car because you didn't check your gas gauge. ### 5/5 — Endlich! *2021-01-04* Nach Jahren des Probierens mit Enso, Loopy und Quantiloop habe ich endlich einen erwachsenen Looper für iOS entdeckt - danke! Jack delivered this, and so much more.He was also kind enough to provide me some online support. A swell guy with a great product! As a sidenote, there is a simple way to route out from your iPad or iPhone to a mixer for excellent live use. I bought a cheap Behringer that works great, upon Jack’s recommendation because I wanted something cheap.
