Through admins managing our practice/game schedules, coaches providing up-to-date info to their teams, players happily chatting & posting pictures, even parents organizing snacks, our communication has been streamlined. GroupSpot is also intuitive and super easy to use, but if needed, the support is fantastic. And the more children you have, as a mom, the more emails you receive. And trying to find them when you need them - who did that one come from? Painful. Not with GroupSpot. This app makes it SO easy to find, track and manage all of your (and yours kids’) stuff. Everything is organized. Besides a main page, it has a calendar, a chat feature (no more annoying group texts!) a sign-up capability, alerts. All in one place. Over the 57 years of camp we’ve certainly invented and re-invented many ways to communicated and support our music campers during the three-week experience. We found that GroupSpot, had many features that worked tremendously well for our communication needs. The feed experience, the ability to share photos, and the ability to reach out to students via the app without utilizing their personal numbers was exceptional. For our purposes we created a daily announcement slide on Canva and linked it a a news feed update. We also liked the ability to add our concerts to the calendar and be able to upload photos to each event so that we have a much better way to sort through photos post-camp to use for promotion in social media. The attendance features of GroupSpot were also helpful for us in many ways. The very best part about using GroupSpot was the exceptional support we as a staff received from John and how GroupSpot is really listening to suggestions for improvement or update that can help make the app work even better for a summer camp as opposed to an athletic program or school music program. ### 5/5 — Great for group travel! *2025-08-13, version 3.6.22* We have used the GroupSpot app for two years now to help with communication before and during student travel. Planning ahead of our trip and communicating with travelers and their families during travel was easy and convenient. Tech support was also fantastic whenever we needed help. We switched over to Group Spot from another platform and it was a game changer! Communications were streamlined, organizing tailgates was fast and easy, and I loved how we could get time-sensitive messages out fast to parents. You can post photos too, which is a fun feature. Group Spot is quite intuitive, but it was always reassuring to know that the awesome customer service team was available and very responsive if there were questions! Please make it so the max is like 5 minutes. I think that would be more reasonable and helpful for sharing things with friends. The only problem is that when you block someone, you can still see their messages and they can see yours if you have them in a group chat. So please make it to where you can’t see their messages when you have them blocked. It opens but the screen is white instead of black - some of the event schedule showed wrong times. For the last few days I could open the app even after updating it. Please let me know what to do so I could read and respond to my members. ### 4/5 — Great Alternative to Standard Team Management Tools *2025-01-14* We’ve been using GroupSpot now for a couple years now across no fewer than 10 of our sports programs. The nature of those groups includes a range of overlapping purposes and target audiences including straight team / roster management, player camp management, coach management, and fan / supporter management. In our experience, GroupSpot has served us extremely well on all fronts in no small part to the integrated nature of the communication and roster management features. In addition, GroupSpot allows us to better manage our members, our communications, and therefore, our brand. We were really just hoping for a more flexible communication platform that was also a little less expensive than the alternatives. As a free app, obviously the price cannot be best but the real bonus is that GroupSpot does a good job of communicating their roadmap and so we are really excited about future features right on the horizon that will further enhance the experience for our teams. Last but not least, the support is excellent! We’ve never had a glitch with the app per se, but when assistance is needed understanding a feature or best-practice configuration, GroupSpot is extremely responsive - same-day responsive. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because no app is perfect but really, that’s almost a philosophical position.
