I have been looking for an app that will help me find and play games for our children at church. This is the perfect app for games and ice breakers for younger and older students. I also really like the handy game tools (Timer, Random Number, Stop Watch, Scoreboard, etc.). Our children at church really like the games you can do using slides or a screen. They send you to their website and want you to pay $10 per game. That’s trash. ### 1/5 — One of the best resources *2025-10-17, version 3.3* This was my go-to resource for years as a youth pastor. I also utilized it a lot as a substitute teacher at our local schools. The ice-breakers and tools have been a life saver so many times! Please bring it back, Grow! ### 1/5 — No longer useable app… *2025-10-08, version 3.3* Unfortunately, the Grow Games app is no longer useable. It now says it has been moved to the Grow Marketplace, where all games cost around $10 each if you don’t have a subscription. This used to be a huge resource for my Youth Ministry as we don’t have a very large youth budget as a small church. Very disappointed in this change. ### 1/5 — Sad to see the change of access *2025-10-07, version 3.3* This was a great app!! I loved the icebreaker questions and game ideas. However, I’m not able to get access to it without making a subscription or buying the games. Probably will just use Google to search icebreaker questions and games now. Thanks for the help the last couple of years though! ### 1/5 — No longer functional *2025-08-06, version 3.3* WAS a really great app for several years. Loved the built-in icebreakers, some of the tools like the scoreboard and random name picker, and having free access to over 500 games for use in student or kids ministry. New games weren’t added all that often, but really appreciated that they offered the app and web versions as free resources to churches and youth leaders/volunteers. Unfortunately, without any email announcement or notification, now when you open the app, it is unusable and says Grow Games has “moved” to their marketplace, and when you go there, without a subscription to their curriculum, all the games are around $10/each which is even more expensive than similar games you could find with similar organizations (such as YM360 or DYM). And the tools and icebreakers from the app are gone too. Really disappointed with this move. ### 4/5 — Bring the free version back *2025-12-04, version 3.3* I heavily use this app, because of the free games catalog. Please bring it back 😭 ### 4/5 — Great Pandemic Resource and Life Saver *2020-10-08, version 1.4* I’m still in the beginning stages of using this app, but so far it is EXTREMELY helpful for games for youth group — ESPECIALLY during the pandemic. One of my weekly anxieties as a youth pastor is finding games that work for our community that aren’t cheesy, lame, or awkward. It’s a ministry challenge I was totally not expecting. Grow Games and Icebreakers is a super easy and functional for my needs each week. There are so many different types of games and I’m still working through my favorites list to see what works and what doesn’t for our community. I especially want to highlight that this is a great resource for finding solid games to play via Zoom with youth. UPDATE— there is in fact a category for social distance games. Wow. Incredible and excited to try them out soon! I’ll report back in a couple months after we’ve tried some more games to give more feedback on the games themselves. My 4 star is only because I haven’t used this app very long, and am just trying it out to see how it works for me.
