## What is GrowDirector 3 PRO?

The GrowDirector 3 PRO app is a powerful tool for gardeners and horticulturists to manage and optimize their greenhouse or grow room operations. With the app, users can connect and control up to 64,000 different devices and sensors that are integrated into the GrowDirector 3 PRO system. These devices are designed to handle various stages of the plant growing process, from seedling to harvest.
Using the latest machine learning algorithms, it allows you to remotely control different environmental aspects of your greenhouse, such as hydroponic systems, pumps, pH, EC, DO and ORP sensors. 

Optimize the growing conditions of your plants by controlling and monitoring humidity, temperature, CO2, water flow meter, VPD, soil moisture, LUX and PAR. 

You can also control electrical sockets, dry relays (contact) and LED dimmers to establish the ideal growth environment for your plants. 

The app allows users to monitor and control their greenhouse or grow room climate remotely, making it easy to manage and adjust desired conditions even from far away. Users can also create different zones and set custom rules for each device, enabling them to experiment with different growing conditions and fine-tune their setup for optimal results.

This release adds full support for the S3 hardware platform and the new Weather Station device type.

On the App side, the update enables you to work with S3-based devices in the same familiar way as other modules: you can add them to your system, see their sensors, and manage firmware updates through the app.

On the Firmware side, S3 Firmware 2.1.4 (with updates up to 2.1.46) focuses on reliable sensor discovery, robust Modbus communication, multi-network Wi‑Fi, and a cleaner factory reset process. New tools like LED identification make it easier to work with S3 devices in large installations.

Zones / Rooms (App & Desktop)

    Zones/Rooms for organizing equipment

        Introduced a full Zones/Rooms concept in the platform, allowing users to group devices and sensors into logical areas (e.g. rooms, zones) for better navigation and monitoring.

        Implemented in the Desktop/Web app and integrated into the App, building on previous “Rooms/Groups” work.

        Covered by regression scenarios for App Release 1.16 to ensure stability.

    Zones UX fixes

        Fixed pull‑to‑refresh behavior in the Zones tab so data reloads reliably.

        Fixed the inability to add devices to a zone and ensured the Add device list populates correctly.

        Fixed cases where the Add device button was not loaded or not visible when it should be.

        Fixed issues where the sensors window and filters did not refresh correctly after sensors were removed from a zone.

Rules & Automation (with S2 Firmware 1.16)

    More reliable sensor‑based rules offline

        Sensor‑based rules continue to operate when the internet connection is down, as long as the module and sensors are powered.

    Correct rule behavior when the router is powered off

        Improved how modules and rules behave when the router is turned off (and later back on), avoiding devices remaining on just because connectivity was lost.

    Multiple time‑based rules

        Fixed cases where only the first time‑based rule would execute properly; now multiple scheduled rules execute according to their configured time windows.

    Manual vs automatic control state

        Improved interaction between manual device control and automation rules, ensuring fields such as mode, activeRuleUid, secondsEnabledFor, and secondsToSwitchBack stay in sync when users override device state temporarily.

Sensors & Safety

    CO₂ sensors – reduced false Disconnected states that previously required module restart to recover.

    PAR sensors – fixed behavior where a PAR sensor could appear as Disconnected and later disappear from the module while still physically connected.

    Hydro module pH sensor – hydro modules now properly detect missing pH sensors and avoid operating without valid pH data.

    Abnormal air‑temperature values – added protection against unrealistic air‑temperature readings that could lead to continuous operation of devices.

This update makes the system easier and more reliable to use in everyday work. 
Sensors are now clearer to understand, easier to add or remove, and the app does a better job of showing their real status over time.
The app now clearly shows device status, highlights new notifications, and warns you when a device needs a firmware update. 
The app is now available in more languages, and overall it feels smoother, clearer, and more dependable.
