The options selection is very clean and nice. The payment screen is very clean. Other than the initial screen, and the wait times, very very nice ### 2/5 — Constant unwanted notifications, had to delete. *2022-06-05, version 5.0.0* Works fine when you want to order food. But when you’re not using it, like an abusive ex it constantly barrages you with unwanted attention. Notification after notification trying to entice me to spend more money. I enabled notifications so I could receive delivery updates, not so you could harass me with unwanted advertising. I’ve now resorted to deleting after each use. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work *2021-11-11, version 5.0.0* New version of the app is broken. It no longer shows any restaurants near me. ### 1/5 — Upgraded app doesn’t work *2021-11-06, version 5.0.0* Tried to order my usual weekly order and the payment system is completely jacked up. ### 3/5 — The fees add up… *2021-06-04, version 3.0.9* I was prompted to tip the driver, which as a former server I have no qualms with; I selected 20%. $10.50. After the order had processed, I see the $3.99 “delivery fee” —> *and* a $2.11 “processing fee” — not before, to be considered. My $45.00 order has jumped to $65.00, because the service is almost as much as the tip. I don’t know what percentage of the delivery fee that driver receives, or if all of that is going to Grubhub? I only chose this method because the restaurant has limited parking on a busy, narrow street, but next time I think I’ll deal with the parking issue, in person. ### 1/5 — 1 Star Too Many *2021-03-24, version 3.0.9* 1 star is too much to give this app. The app itself runs fine, but the service is terrible. I’ve reached out to them several times to remedy a problem, and can’t get anyone to answer my questions. Delivery times are completely ridiculous, especially when weighed against other options such as DoorDash. The other night, the delivery time was 3.5 hours for delivery from a local pizzeria. No thank you. Didn’t get a refund or discount. Only a $9 credit which I won’t be using.. deleting the app now ### 1/5 — Never improved, became too expensive *2024-01-27* I consistently used GrubSouth over other services because I appreciated that it was locally focused and on par with the prices in other delivery apps (not anymore). They ask you to rate your experience and leave comments after every order - I’ve put suggestions there that are just never read. Customer service is either responsive or completely unhelpful. I still have an email about moldy cupcakes from 2 years ago they never answered. There’s no way to sort the restaurants by delivery fee, distance, etc. They don’t display the star rating or any reviews for the food, so you just guess what’s good (and it doesn’t always pay off). The delivery times are closer to an hour or more no matter when you order (weekend vs. weekdays and times of day). Often my order has been “delayed to keep my food fresh” and it just takes even longer and is cold anyway. On top of that, the app is glitchy and/or slow every time I use it. Now the fees are $5+ for nearby spots and $15-$30 for things that are 15-20 minutes away. Won’t be using GrubSouth anymore. ### 1/5 — Naw *2023-12-31* The most random app ever. I never know if my food will be here in 30 min. Or 2 hours. It’s entirely unknown. It’s an app only reasonable when you have zero regard for customer service. ### 1/5 — Worst food delivery service ever *2023-08-27* The worst app out there. Horrible customer service. I’m happy local food is on here but don’t waste your time! Go to the restaurant in person! Don’t use this app! ### 1/5 — Horrible service *2022-04-07* Every time I’ve ordered using this app the estimated deliver time is 1-1.5 hours. Then, I get no updates until after the delivery time when it says they have just now sent my order to be prepared by the restaurant, to keep it from being cold?? So it seems like they didn’t have a driver within the first 1.5hrs estimated delivery time and rather than let me know, just don’t send my order in. I have now been waiting for my food for 2.5hrs. The website and app still have the original estimated delivery time. I got one message from customer service saying my order was delayed and to reply with concerns, no one replied to my message. So disappointed with this app, not to mention they charge crazy delivery fees AND “taxes&fees”. Will not be using again and recommend no one else does. Better if picking it up ourselves than waiting nearly 3 hours for (STILL) cold over priced food. ### 1/5 — Used to be better *2022-03-25, version 5.0.0* The update in Fall 2021 made this app a lot worse. Half the time I search it tells me every restaurant around me is closed. I preferred the previous software. ### 1/5 — Unfortunate. *2022-03-12* I have used grub south before I even knew what door dash was. The format to input your orders is great. The reason for a 1 star review is, I have had two orders get cancelled without any explanation, reason, or notification of why or when it happened. I don’t think it would be an issue of tip, normally tip 20% on my orders. I’d love to change this review when whatever issue is going on is settled. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t meet poor expectations *2022-01-22* Apparently they have 0-1 drivers in our area (The Shoals). Ordered food over an hour and half ago and still no driver has been assigned. Restaurant says the food has been sitting out over an hour, ready for pickup. App says food is still being prepared. The restaurant is less than 2 miles away. I have Covid or I would have picked up myself. The “Contact Us” options on the app don’t work. ### 1/5 — What is the point of having Apple ID and Apple Pay as options if it’s not available? *2021-12-15* I went through the entire process of making a delivery order and creating an account through Apple ID only for the app to freeze, crash, and then force me to do the entire process over again only to be given an error telling me that I cannot log in with my Apple account. I then tried to create an account through Google. The account was successfully made, but when I chose to pay via Apple Pay the app froze again and then returned an error saying Apple Pay is an invalid payment method despite the app’s GUI having clickable buttons for both sign in with Apple ID and Apple Pay. What is the point of having these options in your app if they aren’t supported? What was going through your minds when you wrote this, devs? ### 1/5 — Good Luck *2021-11-24, version 5.0.0* Tried placing an order several times but it was repeatedly cancelled. Contacted customer service to see why the cancellation kept happening and never received a reply.
