I used to be able to save my login, have a default location, and easily purchase and select seats. Now I don’t even purchase tickets ahead of arrival because it’s so cumbersome. ### 2/5 — No way of setting default location *2025-08-02, version 5.07.400* App seems to work ok, though the UI isn't the most intuitive. But the really annoying thing is that there is no way to set a default preferred location. Every time I open the app I have to search for my local theater. Pored over the settings and cannot find any way to designate one favorite location. You have to log in EVERY TIME. You have to search for your theater EVERY TIME. I have skipped going to the movies some days because of how much of a hassle this is. Takes forever to load, if it loads. This one you have to find the theater every time and then when you click on a movie to look at times in won’t let u go back I hate it ### 1/5 — They Changed it to Make it HARDER *2025-04-25, version 5.07.400* After years of being a really good app for picking seats and buying tickets they changed it and did away with everything that made the app useful. It no longer remembers your account. On iPhone it places the menu where it’s off the top of the screen where you can’t use it. If you pick a movie, then in order to accumulate points you have to log in…AND IT FORGETS THE LOCATION AND MOVIE THAT YOU PICKED! To make matters worse it makes you start again repicking the location and movie. For over a decade this was our theater of choice because it was SO easy to buy tickets. (I could do it in less than a minute.) switch this newest app I spent over 12 minutes desperately trying to order tickets. I eventually HAD to purchase them a guest and lost out on the points. I’m an old fashioned ’see it in the theater guy’. And LOYAL GTC customer. I cannot understand WHY they made it so difficult to use their app! It seems to me that they don’t WANT to offer a rewards system. People spend a lot of money in order to get those rewards…I feel that it is not only DISHONEST to take it from them it’s WRONG! I certainly hope that it’s a temporary oversight and that it will soon return to being a functional app. -1 star the way it currently is! - Michael ‘Disgruntled’ ### 1/5 — I HATE THIS APP!!!! FIX IT!!!! *2025-04-21, version 5.07.400* I used this app for years and for the most part it’s pretty nice & dependable despite the generic & boring ascetic/layout. But as of recently the app completely stop working, so the only way you can get tickets is if you literally go to the theater or maybe online. I wouldn’t be surprised if all my points I’ve accumulated are gone at this point too. It’s very frustrating that they haven’t fixed this over the past month or so smh. It’s so glitchy there’s no way to go back and change your ticket time unless you want to completely close the app and start over or wait for it to time out. You have select your state, the theater in that state, then log in just to book a viewing and lord forbid you change ur mind about seating or time while checking out…your gonna have to spend another 5 mins to get back to checkout just cause it doesn’t save your information or allow to save selected things like the theater or your login like the app use to do. It’s Horrible id I could give it less then 1 star I would! The newest update doesn’t have a “back” feature so I have to completely exit the app every time I want to go back to look at a different screen. It doesn’t keep me logged in. Half the time the lettering at the top is cut off. I can log in to the website but then I’m charged a service fee. Why can’t the app be brought back to its previous version? And no one wants to drive to a theater that requires assigned seating without buying the tickets in advance. The fact that the app had once been usable makes me question the leadership that implemented these changes. What were your goals? It certainly was not usability or customer satisfaction. It is truly unfortunate that this interface makes me actually seek out other theaters. I’m not writing this to be mean. I want this app to be fixed. I actually prefer my local GTC theaters, once I’m inside. But I’m not going out of my way to hop on a computer or risking driving to an assigned seat theater without purchasing tickets in advance. Maybe on the next update, adjust the spacing at the top so there is a tiny bit of space between the top of the screen and the button? If you pick specific seats and it times you out, then those seats are ‘gone’ next time you try to get them. I doubt anyone wanted those specific seats while I was logged out one minute. I just wish it wouldn’t take up seats like this, I do like how they have rewards though! ### 3/5 — Missing a key feature. *2019-11-18, version 4.5.7.140* Just wondering when using the GTC app, if we’ll ever be able to redeem rewards points for movie tickets directly from the app? My favorite location is a 15 minute drive one-way IF not in traffic so it’s kinda a hassle to go there to buy advanced tickets with the same points when the feature could be added to the app, saving an unnecessary trip. ### 2/5 — Needs a lot of work *2026-05-27, version 5050.8.9* The idea is great, the delivery? Not so much. Movie selection works fine. The problem comes in when I try to select seats. The app becomes glitchy and I have to figure out where to click on the screen to select the seat I want because the space on the seat certainly is not it. Once I finally get the seats selected, the cart is a joke. When I move to redemption and payment, you cannot see the full page or scroll up/down to see the full invoice. I can barely see the total and click on pay button. I do not have problems with any other apps so I know it’s not my phone. Frankly the app has never worked that great.
