When entering my credit card from GTE, everything linked fine. When trying to link my debit card, I’m repeatedly told my address doesn’t match and get locked out of the app for a half an hour. As a 9 year member of GTE, I’m disappointed at their lack of decent mobile rollouts. All of their apps look like they were built quickly, cheaply, and have an array of bugs. The service standard at any physical location is way higher and much more enjoyable. This app has potential, but as of now it’s almost completely useless. ### 1/5 — Garbage App for a Garbage Bank *2019-07-13, version 3.8.1* Same issue with the cards as all the other reviews. This bank also charges you $5 a month just to have an account unless you jump through a bunch of hoops. And also the physical locations don’t have tellers anymore. Do yourself a favor and find a bank with free checking. Everything is exactly as appears on account. Submitted 1 time. Removed the app afterward. Checked with my online account and through the other app, the address was correct. Unsure where to go from here. The setup process is overly complicated and cumbersome, and repeatedly tells me my address doesn’t match records. I need to pay a bill. ### 1/5 — Log-In is acting screwy *2025-05-26, version 6.1.0* I haven’t changed my username, and my password was changed only recently by 2 or 3 months ago, but the app wouldn’t let me log in, even though I’m already connected through GTE through the website and the GTE Mobile app! Please check your network connection and try again." my connection is PERFECTLY fine. no matter where i open this app it has me hard stuck on this page. i can still make payments and get notifications of when monthly payments go through but i literally cant access ANYTHING on the app past that page. it doesn't let me exit out of it, log in/out, click settings or anything at all. just a blank white page with text and its been broken for over 2-3 months now. incredibly irritating and inconvenient. you'd expect card companies to care a bit more about things like this ### 1/5 — App does not work anymore *2024-05-07, version 5.70.4* This App worked in past, but lately not able to connect to server ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2024-03-11, version 5.70.4* It said my information didn’t match the one the bank has on file, although it does. It refused to add my card and when I called GTE they couldn’t explain to me why it wasn’t working. They were basically rushing me off the phone. Just use a different bank honestly. With better customer service and apps. ### 1/5 — App has major bug!!! *2023-11-15, version 5.70.4* As of resent when you lunch the app it either takes forever to open or doesn’t open at all. If have to constantly open and close the app before it will allow you to login with Face ID. ### 1/5 — Not working *2023-11-02, version 5.70.4* App stopped working will not load ### 1/5 — Just don’t bother! *2023-09-01, version 5.70.2* It’s so annoying wanting protection but not having the accessibility to lock and unlock your card without being told “ your financial institution server could not be reached. Please check your network and try again” for 8 HOURS. Don’t bank with GTE. ### 1/5 — Jailbroken? I don’t think so. *2023-04-19, version 5.63.4* App worked great until I jailbroke my phone. GTE cards developers claim that for my security the app no longer works. GTE Cards devs are too lazy to actually analyze what jailbreaking does so their “security concern” and blocking me from logging in is uneducated and uniformed developers at best, violating user and member respect at worst. I’ve seen UNjailbroke my phone and the app continues to give me that error, rendering my daily driver of a phone now unable to install or use this app entirely. Remove these heinous security practices you tout because your team is uneducated. ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — GTE *2024-12-08, version 5.70.4* Is amazing ### 5/5 — Not sure whats the issue... *2019-12-11, version 3.9.0* Good thing I try things out myself instead of taking other people’s words. I downloaded the app, logged in using my GTE credentials and all of my cards were there. No need for any zip code/address etc. I’m able to activate/deactivate my cards, set limits and notifications etc. Works with no issue. ### 5/5 — Instantly reports *2019-12-01, version 3.9.0* I love how the itemized charges pop up on my phone as a notification alerting me of any debits or charges with my GTE card. I don’t understand why it had to be a separate app, but it is a passive app that works on the background. ### 5/5 — Worked for me *2019-10-06, version 3.8.2* I was able to register both my debit and credit card without any issues. I can’t log in now. Invalid user name or password. I haven’t changed a single thing. I can get into the GTE Mobile app fine and log into the web site using my ID and password with no issues. In fact, I am able to get into the GTE Cards app via the GTE Mobile app. I just can’t log straight into this app. Something went wrong... Now it won’t load any of my cards and when I try to add them it says they are already added.
