## What is Gua?

Gua helps you use your phone on purpose.

Most screen-time tools are easy to ignore — one tap and the block is gone. Gua is built on a simple idea: breaking a commitment to yourself should take more than a tap. So you set up "lines of defense," and getting past a block means going through them first.

BLOCK WHAT PULLS YOU IN
• Schedule blocks for the hours that matter — mornings, work, wind-down.
• Set daily time limits on specific apps and websites.
• Block by app, by website, or by whole category.

PUT REAL FRICTION BETWEEN YOU AND THE SCROLL
Choose one or more lines of defense. To take a break from a block, you pass them first:
• Accountability buddy — a friend approves your break.
• Create something first — write, record, or sketch before you consume.

BUILT TO KEEP YOU HONEST
• Weakening a block requires passing your defenses — no quiet backsliding.
• Take a timed break when you genuinely need one, then it re-blocks automatically.
• See your streaks and progress over time.

Gua runs on your device using Apple's Screen Time technology. Your block list never leaves your phone in a readable form.

Start with one block and one line of defense. Small steps, real change.
