### 1/5 — Can’t use the app

*2022-11-02, version 4.1.1*

I have recently upgraded my phone, and I can’t use the app. It works fine on android.

### 1/5 — Unbelievable

*2022-10-26, version 4.1.1*

Dont understand why a company like Medtronic cant keep up with iOS upgrades. Got a new phone and it doesn't work. And tech support is useless, no update as to when it will be available . Time to get a different CGM. And i wad told since I've had my last auto-ship over 10 days i cant return be sensors. Shouldn't have to oay for something i cant use

### 1/5 — In AppStore it say’s compatible but it’s not

*2022-10-25, version 4.1.1*

It clearly states it’s compatible with my phone, the iPhone 14 ProMax but the app will not work. It just flashes a banner that says the app will not work with this iOS device.

It’s now been almost two months that the new hardware has been publicly available and still Medtronic is unable to provide a working program or even an expected time for a working program to be released.

The software when you can use it is great but for a multi-billion dollar global company it’s taking WAY TOO LONG for their engineers to write, test, verify and release a working product.

### 1/5 — It works

*2022-10-12, version 4.1.1*

From the version history this app looks like it has not been updated in a year . It works but nothing special, when are you going to come out with a Apple Watch app also. When I was in Dexcom I liked being able to see my BG on my watch and didn’t have to get my phone out.

Thank you.

### 1/5 — ISO user

*2022-09-26, version 4.1.1*

I was like if this but I updated my ISO and it stoped working with it I was told they was working on the problem and was going to fix it I have not had one on in two weeks now and I am not happy

### 1/5 — Get with it, Medtronic!

*2022-09-25, version 4.1.1*

The guardian CGM is worthless without the app, and the app doesn’t work with newer iOS versions. I have thousands of dollars in product here that I can’t use without the app. Medtronic needs to step up and keep up with technology.

### 1/5 — One year no updates

*2022-09-24, version 4.1.1*

This is first app I can see that has medical tag, but not getting updated frequently . Version 4.1.1 was updates a year ago. There is no specific feature this app has that closely binds with IOS updates, so I don’t see any point holding next updates so long. Patients looking for you Medtronic team for your ecosystem to be agile.

### 1/5 — Need update

*2022-09-23, version 4.1.1*

Updated to iOS 16. Praying for new update to guardian connect

### 1/5 — Update?

*2022-09-19, version 4.1.1*

Where is the update? Needed it days ago. As a result my numbers are all over the place.

### 1/5 — Behind on Updates with IOS

*2022-09-18, version 4.1.1*

This makes it very difficult when you have sensors that you cannot use because the medical device app is not in line with the most recent IOS updates. It seems the last update was 11 months ago. There have been at least three version iOS since than. Please update asap as it makes the guardian connect useless in the meantime.

### 1/5 — Updates still lagging behind

*2022-09-17, version 4.1.1*

Apple and Medtronic both promote health, but continuously fail to resolve the software updating problems that interrupt the ability to continuously monitor blood glucose and make safe treatment decision. This isn’t something we do for fun. This is life or death.

### 1/5 — Apple iOS updates and Guardian App Functionality

*2022-09-17*

I have used Medtronic devices since 2009. I understand the need for time to upgrade the App with system compatibility. However, Medtronic’s last Guardian update was in December of 2021. It’s now 9 months later. Yes Apple updates iOS frequently and too often for some of us, but when important security updates are included and people who have been hacked and victims of multiple frauds need these security updates Medtronic needs to move more quickly. Patient safety is on the line so please get your heads to work and have the App updates available functional as soon as possible. Hire more developers! This is unacceptable and I am switching to Dexcom as soon as possible. Until April 1, 2023 unfortunately I am stuck with Medtronic! Angrily

### 1/5 — Updates for IOS 16 are not available

*2022-09-14, version 4.1.1*

Please this is unacceptable.
My iphone updated to IOS 16 recently but I have no means to see communication between my iPhone and my sensor/transmitter.
Cannot uninstall the IOS.

Please inform when and if there will be an update of your guardian app.

And how do I stop alerts of “Lost Communication” that are driving me mad !

Thanks
Luis

### 1/5 — Updated my phone

*2022-09-14, version 4.1.1*

Updated and now guardian connect is not compatible.

### 1/5 — How can something so important fail so hard?

*2025-02-17*

I don’t understand it.

### 1/5 — Horrible annoying app

*2024-11-21*

First, the alert sounds can be helpful and obtrusive. It will interrupt music videos and everything else when it makes a noise. Sometimes making them stop all the together. When you get an alert and you go to the app to check what the alert might be, it sounds the alert again right in your face. Also, every time I insert a new sensor. I have to delete the app and reinstall the app and go through all the set up. Every time I put on a new sensor. New updates are rarely available. Every time only seemingly to make the app worse and worse.

### 1/5 — A Worsening

*2024-03-30*

This new version cannot be considered an improvement.

1. It does not work if your CARELINK application is placed in a country outside the US. Therefore you cannot recover your stored data of previous months.

2. Most of devices used to measure blood glucose are graduated in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dl), but this new worsening is set to the weird seldom used graduation of millimoles per liter (mmol/l). Therefore calibration requires continuous transformation of units, something never before required.

What are these Medtronic “programmers or engineers” thinking of?

What a bluff

**Developer response:** Hi, Luis. We are finishing up testing and regulatory approval for iOS 16 compatibility and will be sharing updates as soon as they are available. We appreciate your patience. For questions related to turning off alerts, please reach out to our technical support team at 800.646.4633, option 1.

### 1/5 — ISO 17??

*2023-11-20, version 4.1.1*

Just bought the new iPhone 15 pro max now I can’t use the app. Now I have all this wasted money in supplies and transmitter. WHEN DO WE GET AN UPDATE??!! Hello?!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. Shame on Medtronic

*2023-10-24, version 4.1.1*

Medtronic with all the money they make still can’t figure a way to develop an app that actually works
My doctor actually recommend I get a different glucose monitoring system because and I quote “Medtronic got too big and lazy to keep their crap up to date “
I went against a my doctor because I like the pump
I promise you this will be the last time I ever buy Medtronic devices

### 1/5 — Will not connect

*2023-08-09, version 4.1.1*

I’ve had to delete and reinstall the app multiple times because the sensor disconnects to Bluetooth, sometimes taking a week until I can reconnect it to Bluetooth, making it worthless.
Once it is connected the amount of times it needs to be recalibrated makes the sensor actually work a small amount of time.
It’s honestly so sad because when it does work the sensor makes life a lot easier.

### 1/5 — Won’t pair

*2023-05-24, version 4.1.1*

The transmitter won’t pair no matter what I do. I have tried everything and still cannot get it to pair. There is no way to manually pair and there are NO troubleshooting instructions online. So essentially I am without a CGM that I paid for. What a rip off!

### 1/5 — Help

*2023-03-04, version 4.1.1*

I have an iPhone 10 and it keeps on telling me that it is incompatible due to software and also the app doesn’t open on my phone. I need this app in order to follow up and monitor my health What can be done about this??????!!!

### 1/5 — So very unhappy

*2022-12-30, version 4.1.1*

I purchased the new Apple iPhone 14 Pro four months ago. Yes that is correct four months ago. You indeed read that right 4 months ago. I have been without my CGM for those 4 months because the company has yet to update there operations system to be compatible with this phone. It’s been an unreal struggle to have to go back to 4 or more finger sticks a day and having the issue of not having continuous glucose analysis. I hope and pray that the company gets there act together. The last major phone update the system was down 2 months now we have doubled the down time and it hinders every single pt that the company has subscribed to. I wish they would get there act together.

### 1/5 — Update the app

*2022-12-16, version 4.1.1*

It is extremely frustrating that it has been so long and an update or solution still hasn’t presented itself. I’m a type 1 disband it’s hard to pull my sugar machine out all day just because I can no longer use this app! It will not work at all, won’t even let me open it on my phone. This is completely ridiculous and frustrating because my level really need to be monitored consistently. I don’t understand why a new update or solution to this app hasn’t happened yet when it’s as important as it is! It’s been months and this is causing me a lot of stress.

### 5/5 — Question

*2025-01-23*

Can I check my GMI on my guardian 3

**Developer response:** Hello! Please give our Technical Support team a call for more information at 1-800-646-4633, option #1. Thank you.

### 5/5 — I don’t see what the Problem is!

*2019-02-19*

When I first went to download this app I read the reviews and I thought “Just great! Look at all the negative reviews.” Well this one is not going to be negative.

I was a little skeptical about using The Guardian Connect after reading these reviews. Not pairing properly with your phone, draining your phone battery so you have to charge your phone 2 or 3 times a day, having to calibrate 4 or 5 times a day, not getting accurate readings and so on and so on..... none of that has happened to me. Maybe it’s not the device but the user.

I was trained to use my Guardian Connect by a Medtronic Company Representative. She explained how the app numbers and your meter numbers can differ because one is using tissue fluid and the other blood. The higher the number the bigger the discrepancy (as much as 30 points).

As for the drain on the phone battery, I noticed that I have to charge my phone by end of each day where as before my battery lasted a day and a half. iPhone 8+.

I have been using this for a month now and it really gives me peace of mind knowing I am going to be alerted when I go low. It also made me hyper aware of the impact certain foods have on my numbers. I have better control and I feel this device is a game changer.

Been a Diabetic for over 25 years, Type 2 Insulin Dependent. So glad that my Diabetic Pharmacologist recommended The Guardian Connect!

### 4/5 — The notifications mute calls

*2020-11-16*

It mostly happens with Google Meet, but it has happened to some other calling apps as well, but every time I get a notification from Guardian Connect my call gets completely muted unless I call the person again or rejoin the meeting (in Google Meet's case) and it's really annoying and inconvenient to keep doing that all the time.

If I turn off Critical Notifications on the Notifications Settings, it stops the problem but then the app gets a huge splash screen that blocks half of the screen, making it pretty much unusable.

Aside from that issue, everything else's been working as it is supposed to.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry to hear this. I'll share this with our team for review. Thanks for letting us know.

### 3/5 — Fix this!

*2022-10-13, version 4.1.1*

They need to get it fixed so that the new iPhone update is supported by this app. I need my cgm to connect!

### 3/5 — IOS updates

*2022-09-17, version 4.1.1*

I just updated my IOS and now my Guardian app isn’t working. Some kind of alert from Medtronic to let users know when the app will work with the IOS updates could certainly help prevent this.

Really wish I would have known this app wasn’t compatible with the IOS update beforehand.

### 3/5 — Constant glucose monitor

*2021-09-28, version 4.1.1*

Real time data great. No 7,14,30 or 90 day average glucose data? No approximate a1c data. Have to calibrate way too often. Sometimes in the middle of the night. No real help.

### 3/5 — does not update fast enough with apple updates and new phones

*2020-11-10*

truly I don’t have too many problems with the app itself. My sensor works great for and it has its days where the app doesn’t work perfectly, but that’s okay. What is frustrating to me is that Medtronic does not update its app quick enough with Apple releases. I got the new phone 12 pro and the app won’t work in my phone. I have been going sensor less for two weeks because of it. it’s frustrating that this app is only compatible with certain phones and IOS and is not staying up with the newest so it is compatible for all.

**Developer response:** We certainly understand and are looking into ways to speed up the process for updates. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

### 2/5 — Surprised this is a medical grade app

*2023-01-31*

The sensor is constantly losing the Bluetooth connection with the phone. It takes up to 5 minutes to reconnect. This system requires numerous calibrations when you first put on a new sensor and will wake you up from 10PM to 7AM to recalibrate.
The readings can also be more than 20% off from finger pricks and even when you recalibrate the readings they don’t reflect the new calibration.
Then there is the extreme delay in updating the app to new IOS releases. My company made us all upgrade to a new IOS update and the app was not compatible so I couldn’t use it for nearly 2 months. It would be better to put a 1 time acceptance to use the app without the testing.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2023-01-25, version 4.1.1*

It’s 2023 and highly disappointed with Medtronic CGM technology. All I want to do is set it up to view on my phone and share my real time data with doctors and family members. And have the ability to enter problems for sensor issues online to track and get new ones.

### 2/5 — UPDATE THE APP!! PLEASE

*2022-10-31, version 4.1.1*

My work is through another app on my phone and since I can’t update my phone because of this app, my work is suffering. It doesn’t work most of the time and they’re telling me it’s because I need to update my phone. And you guys told me if I update it, this app won’t work anymore. Seems like a major issue that needs to be fixed. The rating would be a lot better if I could update my phone and still have this app function properly. Please do something soon. It’s been too long.
