Guardian Technologies hasn’t updated the application in over 3 years so they clearly don’t care about their customers. But after several weeks, The Wi-Fi portion seems to forget and I work on Bluetooth. But the Bluetooth only works for a while before it also forgets. My Wi-Fi just recognize the units but I cannot get the units to connect the app unless I resync everything again. This is either my third or fourth time before I’m no longer really using the app anymore as it’s almost pointless. ### 1/5 — No timer or basic feature so don’t buy the air filter *2021-06-07* This is a very poor app with not much of any features. Not even the basic scheduled on and off feature. It is basically just an advertisement for filter app and for turning on or off. I don’t have background refresh turned on for it either, yet still if it’s open in the background it’ll use up to 20% of my battery in a 24 hour period according to the iOS battery settings page. I always have to remember to swipe up and force close it. Pressed the LINK button on my Guardian CDAP5500BCA Purifier. I literally set my phone on top of the purifier with the blue LINK light flashing. Nothing at first, but then I got repeated “looped” “unable to setup, verify device is connected to the internet” error messages. I stopped the app, ran a Speedtest.net test to verify I had connectivity. Solid internet access on my phone. Tried again with same looped error message. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Uninstalled, reinstalled app with same results. I have purifier on a dresser so the app makes it quite easy to turn on and run for a few hours and easily adjust the speed. I usually turn it on as I go up to bed and it automatically shuts off in the morning. No fumbling in the dark. I would like access to the MAC address however. ### 5/5 — This app does not deserve 1.9 star rating *2020-02-12* Just received my guardian air purifier today. Downloaded this app and initially used Bluetooth only setting until I bothered to set up WiFi. Bluetooth connected almost instantly and the app works perfectly fine on my smashed to bits iPhoneX. After putting the device in link mode WiFi took about 20 seconds to set up. Deeply confused by the extremely low rating for what I’ve experienced so far ### 5/5 — Easy to set up, but needs more features *2019-08-30* •Needs a night mode UI ASAP!; I would only use the app if I didn’t want to get out of bed! •Scheduled time on/off MTWHFSS •Apple Watch support •Local pollen/air quality data integration •API so I can do as I like Set up message should be clearer that location on always MUST be chosen to set up. Hope it still works when I turn it back to “when app in use”. If only it told me the PM in the air. I mean if it detects different ones then tell me what they are and if it’s dangerous or not. Now that’s an update I’d love to see.
