Just play a video bro ### 2/5 — Good but not great *2026-03-01, version 3.1.5* I use this app to locate obscure buildings and out of the way building numbers during emergencies. GuidenOn has consistently been more accurate than other map apps, especially on installations where standard maps fall short. Lately, however, fullscreen mobile game ads have started appearing during searches. These ads interrupt navigation and delay access to critical location information. I understand the need for ads, but fullscreen interruptions that prevent immediate access to a building address are not appropriate for an app used in time sensitive situations. This app has become an excellent tool, but its reliability is being undermined by intrusive advertising. Please consider limiting ads during active searches or offering an ad free option or something. Now it has more ads than any app I have ever used. Get Google maps instead, it has most locations on bases. I have a lot of apps ads and none of them fail this hard. ### 1/5 — Impossible with Ads *2026-01-29, version 3.1.5* I’ve had this app for 3 days, first day it worked great! Since then anytime I try to pick a place for directions the add plays and once I press close it closes out of the entire selected location so I can’t navigate anywhere. ### 1/5 — Full of nothing but ads *2026-01-21, version 3.1.5* Tried to use this app one time obviously they’re out for the money now. I’m using it for the first time since then to double check location of a building and I cannot get passed those stupid spam ads and games and games it wants you to play. There is no way of exiting out or bypassing it from what I am seeing. Yes I know I can pay for the ad free version but I only need this for a one time use so even $1.99 is unnecessary. Now it is riddled with ads that are impossible to close and really hinder one trying to find and get to places, especially if you are in a time constraint. It has become extremely frustrating and useless. I’m a government contractor currently working on Fort Benning, Georgia, and was told to download this app. While it worked for a couple of day, it has proven to be severely unreliable and if anyone knows anything about military bases, you know regular Google Maps does not work on them. Almost every other time I input my address, the ads pop up. Once the ad finishes running, the directions for my address never populate. I can always count on it being a hit or miss. ### 1/5 — UNSKIPPABLE ADS Made app Unusable *2025-12-19, version 3.1.5* Apparently the new update has ads that pop up out of nowhere when you put in a search, you can’t even exit out of them because there is no exit or skip button on screen. So I’m stuck on a screen watching a last war survival game ad when I’m trying to find a building number. The ad doesn’t close by itself or have any visible skip or exit buttons and renders the app completely useless! ### 1/5 — Ads?! *2025-12-11, version 3.1.5* Why the F are there ads? Is the app publisher trying to monetize? Search for a bldg number- watch an add- don’t get a search result. Search for a gate time-watch an add- don’t get results you’re looking for. What’s happened?! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Filled with Ads, doesn’t work. *2026-07-26, version 3.2.2* The app is filled with Ads, it didn’t used to be like that; now that it is it’s slow and doesn’t even load anything anymore. The Army issued a new app called “MyArmyPost” use that instead. ### 1/5 — Filled with ads *2026-06-18, version 3.2.2* This is an app that simply links to Google Maps. Now simple navigation doesn’t work. Jam packed with ads and unnecessary information. We are disappointed and looking for alternatives. UPDATE: app bugs have been squashed. We’re back in business! **Developer response:** Thank you for using GuideOn for many years. GuideOn is built and managed by myself, an army spouse, at no cost (I make no money). The only ads added are banners and these don’t even cover monthly server costs…it’s expensive :/. An option to support GuideOn by paying to turn off banners is coming soon.
