## What is Guiding Growth?

Your child's day is full of details that matter. Triggers, food reactions, sleep patterns, therapy breakthroughs, the stuff you need to recall at the next IEP or doctor visit but can barely remember by dinner.

Guiding Growth is an autism tracker built to make autism parenting a little less overwhelming. Log everything in one place, spot patterns over time, and walk into meetings with real data instead of scattered notes.

QUICK LOG: ZERO TYPING

Talk about your child's day the way you'd tell a friend about it. Our AI listens and turns what you say into organized entries. Behavior, sleep, meals, mood, screen time, meds, all of it. Review what it captured, tweak anything that's off, and you're done. The whole thing takes a minute.

INSTANT FOOD ANALYSIS

Logging meals shouldn't be a hassle. Just snap a quick picture of your child's plate. The app automatically analyzes the food and logs it for you. It makes tracking nutrition and spotting food sensitivities a lot easier, without adding another chore to your day.

TRACK WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS

Log meltdowns and behaviors with triggers, intensity, and duration. Record sleep quality. Track meals, hydration, and food reactions (so helpful for spotting sensitivities). Note medications, supplements, therapy sessions, and specialist visits. Monitor screen time by device. Add photos, videos, or notes to any entry. If it's part of your child's day, there's a place for it.

SMART SUMMARIES FOR THE MEETINGS THAT COUNT

Heading into an IEP? A 504 review? Seeing a new specialist? Generate a clear summary of your child's data for any date range. Pick the event types to include, choose the kind of meeting, and get a report you can actually hand to someone. No more flipping through notes at 11pm the night before.

ALMA, YOUR AI THINKING PARTNER

Sometimes you need to talk something through when no one else is awake. Alma is an AI assistant built for parents of autistic children. Ask about behavior strategies, sensory approaches, or what to bring up at your next appointment. She's not a replacement for your child's team, but she's a solid sounding board when you need one.

RESOURCES THAT ACTUALLY HELP

A growing library of bite-sized articles and guides. Sensory strategies. Behavior basics. IEP prep. Feeding challenges. Parent self-care (yes, that matters too). Subscribe to the topics that are relevant to you right now.

BUILT FOR YOUR WHOLE FAMILY

Track multiple children, each with their own profile, behaviors, triggers, and history. Invite co-parents, grandparents, or caregivers as collaborators so everyone can log events and stay in the loop.

PATTERNS YOU CAN SEE

When you've been tracking for a while, things start to click. Which triggers keep showing up. How sleep affects the next day. What changed after starting a new therapy. The app helps you spot what your gut already suspects, and gives you the data to back it up.

### 4/5 — So much is great about this app

*2026-06-05*

There are so many things I love about this app being able to use AI to automatically log medications behavior, sleep, and meals. You can also manually add medication’s and meals and events. The only thing I do not like is having to scroll across horizontally to add medications. Those should be set up to automatically alphabetize in a vertical format, but that’s not how they did it. Also, supplements are included in the nutrition area, and I wish they had their own area and could be organized automatically as well. It is very difficult to edit a supplement once you’ve added it. I would also love better charting features that are tied to medications and supplements. All that being said, I still think it’s the best app on the market so far for Autism and similar disabilities or medical conditions

### 1/5 — Strokes Bad NT Parents’ Egos

*2025-09-19*

*IF DEV REMOVES THIS THEY ARE ABLEIST
Writing this as an autistic adult female. First of all, this app should be centered on the child’s needs- not on congratulating the parents on “dealing with” an autistic child that they chose to give birth to / take care of. Second: when prompted for a goal for the child, the suggested recommendation is “have them say ‘I love you’ to mom”. What if the child doesn’t want to do that? What then? Would you recommend punishment simply because they don’t say the exact things you want them to? This app is harmful and should be removed from the App Store; or at the very least updated with consultation from autism experts who are NOT involved in Autism Speaks.

**Developer response:** Hi there,

I want to respond clearly to your review. Guiding Growth does not and will never recommend punishment. Suggesting otherwise is false and misleading. The app is designed to help parents support their children in positive and constructive ways.

This app is made for parents. Its purpose is to give them tools to keep track of health, routines, and developmental goals so they can better support their kids. It is not about forcing children into specific behaviors, and it is certainly not about framing them as a burden.

I do understand your concern about the example goal you mentioned. I can see how the wording there could be misunderstood, and I will be revising it so that it respects the many ways children express connection and affection.

Finally, I want to be absolutely clear that Guiding Growth has no association with Autism Speaks. This is an independent project built to help families in a supportive way.

I respect that you feel strongly, but I disagree with your statement that the app is harmful or should be removed. My intent has always been to create something that helps families, not hurts them.
