### 5/5 — Great

*2023-02-08, version 2.2.0*

Good way to ‘really’ learn the notes on the fretboard

### 4/5 — Great, but…

*2023-01-01, version 2.2.0*

Awesome for learning the fretboard, but the app crashes a lot. Also has some other odd quirks, such as will go from no sharps or flats to including these by simply restarting a session. Odd - but still a great app!

### 5/5 — Best fretboard app

*2022-12-30*

This is the best and most complete guitar fretboard app that I have found. Very worth the small price to getting better at guitar and finding the notes on the fretboard. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — So far so good!

*2022-12-04, version 2.1.0*

Only a short way in but like the way it advances you. The special one time paysment was a bonus also.

### 5/5 — Keep practicing

*2022-11-25, version 2.1.0*

I am enjoying it

### 5/5 — Finally I’m learning the notes

*2022-11-23, version 2.1.0*

This game is really effective at getting me to actually learn the notes in the guitar, it becomes a little addictive which is good. The only downside is that it doesn’t have any support for an audio input, that would be perfect, but apart from that it’s great and the microphone detection works well.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2022-10-13, version 2.1.0*

Perfect for learning the guitar neck! Makes something monotonous into something fun!

### 5/5 — Pretty easy and fun way to learn notes on the guitar

*2022-09-14*

I appreciate this app, it makes learning the notes on the guitar fun and it’s cool that it has 2 modes… 1.) were you can finger tap the notes on screen and 2.) were you play your guitar to match the note on screen. It would be cool if this app had more games to learn the notes kinda like how rocksmith had its arcade mode.

### 5/5 — THE BEST APP TO LEARN GUITAR FRETBOARD EVER.

*2022-08-30*

Hey. I just wanna to drop this note for you and anybody else that read this review. “Thank You very much for your app”. I won’t lie, I have been searching and waiting for a kind soul to make this app for a long time. You were spotted on in every single training exercise. Pretty sure you were struggled with yourself and build that app. The app the way it is right now it’s awesome. I have been using the app like a maniac for the last two days. There are a few things that would be great to improve but this will be another email, right now I’m more than happy with it. I took the offer of lifetime access but I’m still having the ad “buy PRO” showing up. Probably it just a glitch. Once again, thank You so much for your app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-04-23, version 2.6.2*

Left hand mode not working and customer support not accessible

### 1/5 — Not working properly

*2024-09-15, version 2.6.2*

This was great to start with but now I can only access the campaign feature and not the advanced training. Any time I press the advanced button it just returns to the same selection screen.

### 1/5 — Help

*2024-04-05, version 2.5.5*

Stopped working with 17.4 iOS

😭

### 1/5 — Their app is useless after their new update

*2023-06-12, version 2.5.1*

The app used to be fairly good even though it crashed often.
However, since the new update many features such as staff reading fail to clear the screen of junk … unusable.
Also, the app fails to rotate the correct way up (for those who have your iPad mounted or with the pencil attached by magnets).
For people switching between apps, it means you have to turn your iPad upside down.
Also, their Contact Us link in the app does nothing.
I bought this long ago but as the app no longer works I have to demand a refund from Apple.

### 1/5 — It doesn't work

*2023-03-05*

I was initially excited to see that app because it supposedly utilized digital processing to analyze the sounds coming from your acutal guitar instead of relying on clicking images on the screen.

The first exercise worked OK, but for every subsequent execise, it stared blankly back at me and didn't respond to my notes.

Yes, my guitar is in perfect tune, using both my own strobe tuner, as well as the tuner built-in into the app. Yes, I am using ample volume for the Macbook microphone to pick up the sound. Yes, I'm using clean tones without any effects that could alter pitch. Yes, I have a top-notch M2 Macbook Pro with the latest release of MacOS. So no, it's not "my setup" - this app simply DOES NOT WORK.

Looks like I can kiss 4 bucks goodbye...

### 1/5 — Buggy App!

*2020-06-05, version 1.80*

Great idea poor implementation! This app is very buggy and will constantly falls out of the level your in. For just learning the fretboard there is way too much gimmicky stuff. I’ve moved on, there are better apps for learning the fretboard.

### 2/5 — Incomplete Lefty mode prevents full experience for some players

*2022-05-11*

This is an app I would give 5 stars to for all the reasons that others have said. But as a lefty, I need a proper left handed mode to get the same experience as others in using the app. However, the neck does not change orientation and remains mirrored as right handed even in “Left Handed” mode, adding confusion that does not need to be there. Should the devs decide to put the work in to give lefty’s the same full experience as righties, I would be happy to change my review to five stars. But as a lefty, i feel left out from the full benefits because of my handedness.

### 2/5 — Great Teacher

*2021-06-15, version 2.1.0*

Great tool for learning the fret board.

### 3/5 — Вылетает

*2024-04-06*

Постоянно вылетает после выполнения упражнения.

**Developer response:** Вопрос решен. Спасибо за ваш отзыв.

### 3/5 — Great App, But …

*2023-08-25*

Guitar Blast is the best way to memorize the fretboard. However, the utility of the app is less than optimal because:

In testing the playback of notes within any given level, some notes are not recognized when played.

Within any given level, when a note is played that has more than one position on the part of the fretboard being tested, the playback of a note in one position often triggers the disappearance of both notes, as if each note had been correctly played back separately.

Any given level may abruptly close before it is completed with no registration of results before the next level is presented for testing.

There is a lack of effective monitoring, correcting, and updating the app.

A set of instructions on how to use the app would be very helpful.

**Developer response:** Dear Sankeshi,
Thank you for your valuable feedback, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We've added a troubleshooting section in the Settings-Help area, offering best practices for improved note detection and gameplay. Here are a few tips:

- Ensure your guitar is in standard tuning (EADGBe).
- Use your iPhone or iPad's default microphone, as some Bluetooth headphones may delay sound capture.
- Playing in a quiet room enhances the app's ability to detect notes faster and more accurately.

Your insights are invaluable to us, and we're dedicated to continuously improving Guitar Blast. If you have any more suggestions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Keep strumming,
Guitar Blast Team

### 5/5 — Sound

*2025-05-06*

Is it possible to switch off gaming sounds? It’s annoying in rounds to hear funny sound except of the notes

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-04-04, version 2.6.2*

Great app and very helpful for learning. The only thing I’m missing is the ability to practice notes on the fretboard using more than one string at a time. Right now, you can only select a single string. Just a suggestion from me. Overall, a 5-star app! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — Great great -take it to next level

*2025-03-19, version 2.6.2*

Played guitar my entire life - taking it to the next level and this is helping get me there!
Fun too

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-05-27, version 2.6.0*

Wonderful app for memorizing fretboard

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-03-18*

I’ve used almost every method in the book to break through the mental block of learning the notes on the fretboard. This is definitely one of the best I’ve found so far. It’s super accurate when identifying what note you’re playing…and on your REAL guitar. So much better than trying to memorize the fretboard from a book or diagram. The instant feedback and stats are immensely helpful and motivating. I find myself trying for that perfect score to beat my best all the time. This app does a great job at “gamifying” learning the fretboard. Highly recommend trying it out.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-11-05, version 2.5.4*

Well structured, great features and most importantly actually effective for internalising the fretboard note.

### 5/5 — The best fretboard learning tool that I’ve ever used.

*2023-08-09*

I have been playing guitar for three years but have always had difficulty memorizing the notes on the fretboard.

This is the best app, and the best method, that I’ve ever come across to learn the fretboard. It is extremely well made, fun to play and very effective.

I highly recommend it and wish that I could thank the app’s creator personally.

**Developer response:** So glad you found our app helpful! Your words made our day. Happy playing!

### 5/5 — good for beginner

*2023-04-03, version 2.3.0*

### 5/5 — Thanks

*2023-02-27, version 2.2.0*
