When doing a search and the scrolling through results if you click on an item and then return to the search result item list, it automatically returns to the top of the list every time. It was listed as a three thousand dollar guitar that retailed for four thousand brand new. It was listed as “excellent” condition. This would mean it was a core series prs, not an S2. The pictures of the guitar that were shown only showed the front of the guitar, and there were two of them. When the guitar arrived, it had cracks in the back, scuffs and dents all over, and was an S2, a guitar that retails for two grand brand new, not two grand used and in the worst condition, yet still called “excellent” by prs. Obviously, I was angry, this wasn’t what I paid for and the workers had deliberately been vague so as to sell this guitar online without letting people know the real condition it was in. I immediately returned it. When it arrived at guitar center hq, I got the notification. My refund wasn’t processed for a WEEK, and only once I threatened to dispute the charges. Each day I was told “it’ll be processed tomorrow” and I was losing my mind. But once I was refunded, I thought all was well. I had already decided I would never buy from guitar center again, especially for used products, when I checked their website to see if the guitar was listed fairly now. Come to find out it’s back in Boston, same two pictures of the front of the guitar, same price on sale from three grand. No mention of the cracks in the back, and listed as excellent condition. Obviously, this sent me through the roof because I’d hate for someone to go through what I went through, especially after they said they’d fix it this time. I will never buy from guitar center again. I’ve learned that these people are in it only for themselves, there’s no customer awareness at all. I’ll buy from reverb from now on. I urge everyone to be careful when purchasing, because they will tell you as little as possible and lie to make some money. Guitar Center claims orders take 3–5 business days to arrive — it’s been 7 days, and mine hasn’t even shipped. I paid $30 for shipping, and the order is still marked as “being created.” Compared to Amazon, where shipping is free and usually faster than expected — this experience has been incredibly disappointing. On top of that, tracking your order is a hassle. You have to type in your order number and email every time, and even then, it gives you little to no useful information. To make things worse, the same item in-store costs more, even used, and if it’s a used item, they make you wait 30 days before you can pick it up. If you need your gear on time or expect any level of customer experience, do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere. ### 1/5 — I will never purchase from GC online, again. *2025-05-31, version 4.1.3* I’m leaving a review here because there’s little recourse to leave one anywhere else. I’ve had two separate purchases now through this app online where the physical item I purchased was turned around and sold to someone else at the brick and mortar store where it was housed. Both instances they took my money and it wasn’t until I started asking for the item was there any acknowledgment of my purchase. Never anything from GC that resembles an apology, either. To the contrary, I had to contact their customer service three times today to cancel an order so I can try to get my money back. Money that should have automatically been refunded the second they sold the guitar I purchased to someone else. So, if you buy something from GC through this app… Don’t assume they’ll actually send you the product you purchased. I suggest downloading the Reverb app instead of Guitar Center. ### 1/5 — What an incredibly poor user interface *2025-04-30, version 4.1.2* Incredibly clunky interface. All filtering generates slide over menus. Even tapping a heart icon to add something to a wishlist generates a slide over that requires you to confirm you want to add to a wishlist. The guitar arrived at the local shop in Tyler Texas, where the friendly knowledgeable staff unpacked and examined the instrument. They answered my question about the guitar and what type strings would be needed when the time came. They assured me the strings on it were nearly new, and shoul not need any attention anytime soon.
