## What is Guitar Harmony Finder?

Play the melody. The app plays the harmony.

Guitar Harmony Finder takes a line you tap on the fretboard and builds a second guitar part to go under or over it — the twin-lead sound, in the key you are actually in.

Any chart can name the notes a third above. Where to put them is the real question, and the answer has to be somewhere your hand can already reach. That is why the second voice stays inside one CAGED position.

HOW IT WORKS
Tap your melody onto the on-screen neck. The key is detected as you go, or you can set it by hand. Pick an interval — thirds and sixths above or below, or fourths, fifths and tenths above — and the second voice appears on its own fretboard underneath, note for note.

WHO IT'S FOR
Guitarists who want the two-guitar sound and have found that working it out by ear takes longer than the idea deserves. If you have ever tried to harmonize your own line and ended up with something that was technically a third and musically wrong, this is the tool for that.

GOOD TO KNOW
The scales are the seven modes of the major scale — major, natural minor, and the five between them. A melody note that steps outside the key keeps the interval it already had — parallel, which is what guitarists actually play — and a note outside the scale is ringed on the neck, so you can see it happened. A harmony with no place on the guitar, like a 6th below an open low E, is left blank and says which end of the neck it fell off.
