## What is Guitar Highway?

Guitar practice that listens. Play along, and it tells you how you did.

Guitar Highway is a rhythm-game style guitar practice app. Play the falling notes on your guitar while AI listens through the mic or your audio interface, follows your pitch and timing in real time, and lets you know right away: PERFECT, GOOD or MISS.

A COURSE THAT GROWS WITH YOU
- 4 stages: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Electric
- A daily portion is suggested for you. Clear it to unlock the next stage.
- Pause mode waits for you to play; Beat mode keeps the rhythm.

A RICH RIFF LIBRARY
- Nursery songs, classical, pop-rock, electric and Korean songs, plus scales, chords and chromatics
- All self-made or public domain
- Your best take on every riff is saved.

HEARS EXACTLY WHAT YOU PLAY
- Picks out the exact note you played, and even the string you fretted wrong
- Works with the built-in mic or a connected audio interface
- Adjustable sensitivity for noisy rooms

BRING YOUR OWN SCORE
- Snap a paper score. On-device note recognition turns it into a playable riff.
- Import MusicXML and PDF files too.
- Edit measures and notes, then play it on the highway.

GUITAR PRO IMPORT
- Open Guitar Pro files (.gp, .gpx, .gp5, .gp4) and play them on the highway
- Pick your part; the other tracks play as the original backing
- Strings, frets, fingerings and techniques (slides, hammer-ons, bends, vibrato) come along

BUILT-IN TUNER
- Guided 6-string tuning and a quick device audio check before you play

SEE YOUR PROGRESS
- XP, levels, streak days, weekly challenges and skill scores
- Beat mode takes are recorded so you can compare with yesterday; video mode captures the screen too
- Multi-user support: separate progress per family member

YOUR PRIVACY FIRST
- Your recordings and practice data stay on your device.
- No ads, no account, no sign-in. Only anonymous usage statistics are collected to improve the app, and you can turn them off in Settings.
- Note recognition runs entirely on device.

- Fast short notes are no longer missed: notes played while the previous one rings are recognized
- Better same-note re-pick detection that accounts for the actual note length
- Fewer false advances from fretting without picking, finger noise or background sounds
- Stop mode scores now match your hit ratio
- Fixed PERFECT/GOOD/top combo numbers being cut off on the result screen
- Added website, support and privacy policy links under More > Guitar Highway

### 1.0.4 — 2026-10-05

• Import Guitar Pro files (GP3–GP7) — choose a part, practice with the original backing
• Better recognition when re-picking the same note; no more advancing on speech
• Fewer wrong chords accepted
• Better fingerings — standard chord shapes, hand-position-aware layout, chosen position is kept

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-01

• Fixed ringing from another string being taken as the target note
• Better first-strike recognition; octave judged against the score
• Finger numbers shown while playing; fingerings follow your hand position
• Beginner level defaults to Stop mode

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-28

• New original theme song "Guitar Highway" in the Pop/Rock category. The riff starts on a single string, so beginners can play along right away.

• Tuning help: open the tuner straight from the practice screen, and get a heads-up when a string drifts during the count-in.
• Songs with fixed fingering now follow the octave and position controls, so you can practice them in another position.
• Stability improvements.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-19

- Fixed: Score Capture playback could be silent after switching screens.
- Minor stability improvements.
