Does a great job although it seems to loose sound if the app is open for a while. Also had a problem with a file getting corrupted but that was probably finger trouble. Instructions are a bit anorexic but for the money it’s a great resource. ### 4/5 — Basic but clever *2024-02-02* Takes a little while to find where everything is and, once put aside for a while, needs to be relearned but seems pretty well thought through and executed. Worth it! *2021-11-06* Unlike some other apps that kinda lead you on to think you can actually take useful and nice looking notes for the songs you’ve learned, this one actually does what it says. It has a learning curve and needs more instructions to operate but just play with it and you’ll figure it out if you at least know a little bit about music to get yourself started. The chord list currently doesn’t display properly on my iPhone 12. The dots are not displaying on most chords. At first, I was impressed — I finished my first song in about 45 minutes and really clicked with the workflow. But almost immediately after saving, the app reported that the song file was corrupt and couldn’t be opened. Shortly after, the file disappeared completely and all my work was lost. This is a deal-breaker. A music app must be able to reliably save and restore files. I strongly recommend avoiding this tool until the developer addresses this issue. ### 1/5 — App won’t open *2022-02-12* Just bought this and it doesn’t open on my iPad. Crashes instantly. Useless. Upon opening the app it immediately crashes and will not open the app whatsoever. Waste of $1.99. Nothing on their support page addresses app crash issues that I can see. Too bad. ### 1/5 — Can’t tune C standard *2018-10-06* Bb note displays it like C Fail ### 1/5 — Needs work, *2017-08-28* Bought this primarily to jot down alternate tunings, Can not edit an existing custom tuning very much, must start from scratch each variation, Interface clunky with very small mixed fonts, Can't strum tunings, only one note at a time, not useful for me. **Developer response:** Hi, I'm sorry your were disappointed with the app. However, as of version 3 a number of improvements were introduced including the ability to edit custom tunings as requested above, but also some cosmetic improvements that made the fonts and icons more consistent. I hope you will consider giving the app another try. Thanks, Phil ### 1/5 — Can't change note length? *2017-08-05* This would be a fantastic tabbing app if it allowed you to change the note length you are entering while you tab. You can change the overall default length, but there's no way to change from 8th to 16th notes when entering individual notes. At least not as far as I can tell and if you can do this, there is nothing in the documentation to indicate how to do it. **Developer response:** Hi, I'm sorry the app didn't meet your needs. I am pleased however to report that as of version 3 note lengths are supported as well as large number of other features. Hopefully will have another look and if you could revise your rating that would very much be appreciated. I did lose the tabs I had in there but it could have been from deleting the app at one point. Either way, I think it’s worth the couple bucks to have an app to quickly write down ideas or a quick Tab. I like the easy to use guitar fretboard as well as being able to switch to ukulele. I took guitar tab Jesu joy input for dobro GBDGBd tuning .It took several hours to input , but once in,listen how it sounds and start learning to play. Awesome. Thanks!! ### 5/5 — Cool App *2018-08-03* I’m new to writing tabs that look so great!! I’ve already had a couple suggestions (since I play less popular instruments like banjo and mountain dulcimer). Phil got right back with me and was receptive to adding those. After a week of using it I love it!! The only thing I’ve seen so far that would down rate it just a touch for me so far is that when I add a repeat the tab is uneven. That’s not a big deal or anything but the repeat makes it go just past the upper lines of tabs. Overall very fun to mess around with. I have a YT channel and I am making the tabs to what I’m posting so it’s definitely nice to have the ability to make good looking tabs.
