### 5/5 — Great Guitar App

*2015-06-11, version 3.1*

GuitarCapo+ is an excellent app! I'm very happy with the purchase. The midi features work well with my mobile DAWs, the chords are very customizable and the guitar sounds great with IAA or use it to trigger any other sounds you like through midi out.

One request: I would like to be able to trigger the fingerpicking patterns, Strum 1 - Strum 5, from my midi controller, it would be great to be able to program those parts from the midi DAW as opposed to only strum up/down. The midi is set up really well in GC+ as is with CCs, maybe an additional CC to switch to Strum 1 - Strum 5? Or something in the app's UI?

Thanks for a great app!

### 5/5 — Top guitar app

*2015-06-11, version 3.1*

Not only does capo+ sound great (especially liking the new Electric Strat), but the app is extremely versatile when used in a full music production. This has MIDI in and out, a midi chord pad function, auto strum, chord picker, and more. Best of all is that it sounds great.

### 5/5 — The non-guitarists guitar app.

*2015-06-10*

An app that keeps getting better just when you thought it couldn't. This is so easy to use and get excellent results, even as a non-guitarist.

### 5/5 — I like it!

*2015-04-10, version 3.0.1*

Please support my iPhone 5c, thank's you.

### 5/5 — At last!!

*2014-12-16, version 3.0.1*

I love this app as it allows me to do things from a guitar perspective that I was incaapable of doing before and the developer really seems to care!! The soundss are great, the functions are great and the developer really seems to care!!
If you need quality guitar rhythm parts and don't have a clue how to strum (now the strumming continues until YOU tell it not to, how cool is that!!) here's your app!!
I give it 7 stars ( I know and it's not my fault they don't include enough stars!! LOL)

### 5/5 — Super-versatile as an iOS instrument, or chord tool for real guitar!

*2014-10-16, version 2.8*

I was a late adopter of GuitarCapo+. I was aware of the app, but opted for Guitarism (which is excellent), plus some other apps that do chord/scale charts like Chord! and Guitar Master.

But GuitarCapo+ won me over with its rich array of features and the developer's willingness to continue working on the app. The app also offers a lot of solutions to its primary problem, which is that strumming a guitar on a glass screen feels, well, not very natural. There is a button press option to strum the chords, and you can adjust how fast the strum occurs (though I would like the top speed increased).

Or, the app offers MIDI In control, which Guitarism does not (yet). So a MIDI sequencer/controller can play the chords and notes in perfect timing. If you like the interface, it also makes a pretty good MIDI out controller for other apps. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Fantastic Update

*2014-10-10*

Midi Out is the icing on the cake!....great App!

### 4/5 — A Guitar. Plain and Simple!

*2014-08-25, version 2.7.5*

While I like OM Guitar and Guitarism. This is one the better guitar simulators with a streamlined and less distracting interface. That's what believe GuitarCapo+ edges above the competition, it's straightforwardness. While It does provide some moderate FX that can be used to broaden the sound, it allows discretion for a user to use the plethora of available stomp box FX, reducing the overall memory usage to a minimum and seems to work better for multi-instrument workflow using Audiobus. One of my favorite features is the octave transpose, so you can play it to sound like a baritone or mandolin.

### 5/5 — String settings

*2014-07-16, version 2.7*

I collect lots of guitar apps. This one is a good addition to my collection. I love delay effects in general so I appreciate the ability to set different delays and pans for different strings. This guitar app works well with midi sequencers.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2014-03-13, version 2.5*

Enough said.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Limited on iPhone

*2020-01-04, version 3.1*

It lacks a lot of features in iPhone version. Such as: play forever toggle, strum selection, etc. Could you look into it.

### 2/5 — Midi in is shoddy

*2017-08-22*

Doesn't work with jamstik

### 2/5 — Undecided.

*2016-06-17*

2 1/2* would be more apt me thinks. Somehow the chords add an extra high root note from the chord chart...play the chord as shown and it will sometimes be different. Where's the hammer one and bends and slides? Good quality audio. Worth having a look at for 79p. Even for the £3.99 I paid last week...just.

### 2/5 — Good sound, mediocre interface

*2015-09-19, version 3.1*

The distance between chords cannot be reduced, can only be augmented. I am not a guitar player, however I think that if the chords were closer, I would actually enjoy strumming with this app on my iPad. The number of buttons for selecting a chord is limited to 6 per tab. Is a song made only of 6 chords ? I would like an answer by the author.

### 2/5 — Crapo

*2014-10-07, version 2.8*

It will not even boot-up. It crashes immediately. I deleted and restored. Same thing...crash...crash...crash. PLEASE FIX.

### 3/5 — Very good but flawed

*2015-11-03*

Great for learning chord shapes, making parts in conjunction with audiobus and midi, nice guitar sound onboard. However, the iPhone version seems to lack one or two key features eg the 'hold' button, muted notes and strum variations. These are big misses and hopefully the developer will add them soon. Also, I found the playing of notes on the individual strings very hit and miss with notes often not sounding (I'm using an iPhone 6). The strum speed adjuster is a great feature but the slider isn't very precise. Personally, I'd have liked more fine adjustment at the fast end of the slider to get more realistic strums: at the moment it seems to jump from scraped to arpeggio in steps that are too big. Good app though - and worth being patient with.

### 3/5 — Good Start

*2014-06-16, version 2.6*

Had a little issue with the install, but it turned out to be the app store. Good start of a potentially useful app, but needs a lot more work to hold interest and really make a difference.

### 4/5 — Very useful tool

*2016-11-24*

I have just started using this app and as a guitar player am finding it very useful, it is very quick to try chord progressions on the fly while composing in other tools with needing to get the guitar out, plug it in, tune it...etc...
Also when sequenced it allows me to mess with my ToneStack settings without having to try and play at the same time.
Then when I've got a preset sorted, and progression I like, I can then get the guitar out and go for a performance or recording.

### 4/5 — Nice sounding but needs a couple of tweaks

*2014-11-28*

Overall a useful and great sounding guitar app. Midi in/out great feature. The soundtestroom midi in video definitely demonstrates what's possible in terms of realistic sounding solos and accompanying chords. Two frustrating things I've encountered - I get a strange 'double triggering' of notes at the high end of my midi keyboard when using midi in (starts at Bb). As a guitarist I feel the chord builder fretboard is the wrong way round and is the opposite way round to looking down at a guitar fretboard when playing. The chord builder is too confusing to be useable at the moment but could be very useful perhaps with an option to switch orientation.

### 4/5 — Good, but looking forward to the update

*2014-09-23*

Bought this app on the strength of their new update trailer which promises a lot of new features. In its current form it's ok, and sounds great but a bit basic functionality wise.

The option to vary the speed of the strum rate, for example, promised in the new version will make this a lot more usable so looking forward to getting the new features.

5 stars when the update arrives, but falls a bit short at the moment.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2022-03-20, version 3.1*

This is by far the best guitar midi controller for disabled musicians on the App Store! I would love to get in touch with the developer who made this.

### 5/5 — Strum Machine Extraordinaire!

*2018-08-27, version 3.1*

Take a little time to learn the user interface (UI). The manual is pretty explanatory. You can program this as the ultimate strum machine. You can strum or push buttons to strum...up or down...fast or slow. You can also control with a midi board for soloing or strumming. Inter app capabilities let you use guitar amps. This is the keyboard guitarist’s solution right here!

Creators may want to consider a solo mode that doesn’t require the user to have a midi controller to play solos, but the app is 5 star as is!

### 5/5 — Very very musical

*2016-11-26, version 3.1*

Simple and powerful. Great sounds and easy to play.

### 5/5 — Very professional app already but .......

*2016-10-31, version 3.1*

Very professional app already but I would like to see more chords (at least 8), ability to drag and drop chords from a library(and or copy and past chords) into the slots and the ability to name and save as the chord banks (not just numbers). Companion apps for banjo and ukulele?? Using app with a 12 Step so I can trigger the chords using my feet. Great midi in/out.

### 5/5 — Great Fun

*2016-09-27*

Just watched the Soundtestroom vid of this app being reviewed. Sounds great and has a ton of cool features. Especially like the midi options. I can use my keyboard to play the app. There is a good chord library with the option to create custom chords which is very helpful if you need to use a specific. There is too much to talk about so just get the app. I was going to pay full price but today it is 79 pence. Buy it, play it!.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2016-05-18, version 3.1*

Almost bought this before, but withheld because I'm not a guitar player... and have no aptitude for it either. Believe me, I've tried.

However, I went ahead and grabbed this anyway... mostly because I was curious about using it as a midi controller for other synths. WOW! had no idea what I was missing. Definitely worth full price as a midi controller alone, even if you aren't a guitar player!

### 5/5 — Makin' music!

*2016-03-17, version 3.1*

I'm really enjoying this app. As a drummer I can make up tunes very quickly, plus it helps me with my guitar lessons! Great sounding guitar and bass! Works great with Audiobus!
Haven't touched the MIDI side of things yet but will be shortly. Only thing I wish for is a metronome.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2016-02-17, version 3.1*

Especially if you're looking to enter authentic guitar voicings for a wide variety of chords. You can use this to generate midi to other guitar apps, synths, etc. works great, very robust.

### 5/5 — GREAT app !

*2015-06-20, version 3.1*

If you like strumming them chords get it ! Plays just like a real guitar in 2-D Serious it's good , I love using it to control other synths and the such . Gives the guitar some backing music ; it's great , and the developer keeps working on making it truly an elite app for music on IOS .

### 5/5 — I really like this app.

*2015-06-16*

I thought I'd risk 79p and give this app a go, and I think it's worth a lot more than that. It's not just a guitar app, it's midi too so if you've got various synths on your iPad like I have, you can trigger these as well using this app.
