## What is GuitarHub Scale & Chord Master?

GuitarHub is a chord, scale and songwriting toolkit for guitarists: look up any chord, see the whole neck, write a progression — and let AI suggest the next chord.

CHORD LIBRARY
• 800+ chords and 3,000+ fingerings, browsed by root. Tap any string to hear it.
• See a chord from every side on one page: fingering, interval wheel, staff and keys, with root, third and fifth in their own colours.
• In-key chords, a full chord chart and a key chart, side by side.

WRITE WITH AI
• Start from one chord and AI suggests what comes next, based on what you have written. Stronger matches show in deeper colour.
• Generate a whole progression in one tap, or continue the phrase you have.
• Strum and fingerpick patterns — folk, pop, funk, reggae and more — so you hear it as you write.

SCALES & THE FRETBOARD
• 160+ scales and modes across all 24 frets, with every root in view.
• Position practice: note names, numbers and solfège move with every note.
• The CAGED system: chord shape, pentatonic and full scale for all five positions.

CHORD IDENTIFIER
• Tap the notes you are holding and get ranked matches, with shapes ready to play.

GUITAR JAM
• Pick a feel and a tempo, and the guitar keeps playing. Key, scale and chords can run on their own or be set by you.

MORE
• Three complete themes: Acoustic Journal, Midnight Studio and Blueprint.
• Custom tunings and left-handed mode.
• For iPhone and iPad.

GUITARHUB PRO
The free version lets you browse chords, listen, save up to 3 songs, and try part of every view. Pro unlocks:
• AI next-chord suggestions, whole-progression writing and continuation
• Every scale and chord, plus the chord chart, key chart and CAGED chart
• All matches in the chord identifier
• Guitar Jam
• Unlimited songs

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-18

• New in Library: Metronome. One big pendulum that works like a clockwork metronome — every beat sounds as the needle sweeps through the centre. Press play for a 3-2-1 count-in, then the needle swings out from the left.
• Set the tempo by sliding the weight along the needle, with TAP, or by tapping the BPM to pick Largo, Andante, Allegro and more. Choose beats per bar, subdivision (eighths, triplets, sixteenths), the sound and a first-beat accent. The audio itself keeps time, so the beat stays steady, and the screen stays on while you practise.
• Chord Chart: tap a root on the left to hear its whole row, each chord rolled and then strummed.
• Fretboard Notes: bigger note names, with sharps and flats in music notation at full size.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-12

• New in Library: Note Circle for scales and for chords. See notes on the circle of fifths or the chromatic circle, with note names, degrees, solfège or key signatures on the rings. Scales light up as an arc; chords draw their shape note by note as they play.
• Tap the circle on any scale or chord page to open it in Note Circle. Change the key and everything on the circle moves with it.
• Play Song: changing the key, tuning or capo now starts again from the first chord, and the fretboard animation and play button keep working.
• Sharps and flats now sit level with the other note names, and open strings always read E A D G B E.
• Chord Chart and Key Chart: bigger diagrams and chord names.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-05

• CAGED now reaches all the way to fret 24, and the neck scrolls so every key fits.
• New speed controls for CAGED and 3NPS: choose 1–4 notes per beat and jump to a tempo from Adagio to Presto.
• Note names, fret numbers and buttons on CAGED and 3NPS turn with your phone, so they stay upright when you play on its side.
• Chord Identifier opens the best match for you, with its shapes ready to see.
• CAGED and 3NPS: key C is free; unlock every key with Pro.
• Fretboard Notes tips now fit on a single line.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-03

New in the Library
• Fretboard Notes: tap anywhere on a 0–24 fret neck to see which note it is, and see every place that note appears.
• CAGED: the five shapes that link the whole neck, with chords, pentatonic and the major scale, played shape by shape.
• 3NPS: seven three-notes-per-string patterns. Pick a position and run the scale up, down or both, at any tempo.
• Note Quiz: name the note at a spot on the neck, or its number in the key. Choose a key, scale and fret range.
• The Library is now grouped into Tools, Practice and Challenge.
Progressions
• Cleaner layout: a settings button and a play button now float at the bottom of the page.
• Picking chords happens in its own panel, separate from playback settings.
• The chord being played is highlighted in the editor.
• Fingerpick is now the default rhythm.
Song Player
• The song title moves into the top bar, leaving more room for the fretboard.
• Strings now vibrate only from your finger down, like a real guitar.
• The key setting now sits with the other settings.
Scales
• Tap a key on the keyboard and the same note lights up on the staff.
• A simpler play button on the scale position page, with clearer note labels.
Everywhere
• A consistent navigation bar with smaller buttons on every page.
• Smoother, more reliable playback.
