### 2/5 — Very poor chord identifier

I tried to look up a basic CM9 using the chord finder and it came up with no matches , so looked up on Scales-chords.com (free online) then looked up CM9 on the chords page - first chord diagram to come up with was the exact fingering I’d tried to look up. Very frustrating

I have been using this app for a while and it’s great for a lot of things. I really like the quiz and the scales and the arpeggios / triads. The only thing I’d like to point out is that in the Chord Finder shell chords are not recognised. I checked and on your website the web version does support it. For example D.E.G# should be E7 and while the web app resolves it the app does not. Please fix if you can!

I have had this app for many years. And as a visual aid for guitarists who understand some theory but need some visual reminders from time to time about chord inversions and extensions and scale layouts it is superior to any other app I have seen. But it does have some shortcomings. Just now I was looking for all the options for a Cadd9 chord. It only offered two options and neither was the simplest version in the first position built off the open C Major chord. I have also found missing grips for other jazzy type chords under the “CHORD” tab, which I have had to look for by using the chord ”FINDER” tab for grips I have seen other people use that I don’t have a name for. This may seem a petty complaint for such an excellent app, but when nothing else out there in “APPworld” is so concise, comprehensive and easy to use, it would be nice for it to be perfect.

Previously used this app quite a bit for teaching and reference when working with modal concepts I liked the older version better it felt easier to navigate especially with alternative tunings.

This app’s chord finder seems to have trouble seeing some Dominant 7 inversions. The website chords finder version seems way better. Example C7. App won’t detect x3231x, unless it’s 33231x, but the website detects both correctly
