Very frustrating ### 2/5 — Like it and wanted to upgrade; upgraded twice …..no upgrade *2026-07-28, version 7.2.0* Very good but the upgrade is necessary at least for me ### 4/5 — Good app but… *2025-11-05, version 7.2.0* I have had this app for many years. And as a visual aid for guitarists who understand some theory but need some visual reminders from time to time about chord inversions and extensions and scale layouts it is superior to any other app I have seen. But it does have some shortcomings. Just now I was looking for all the options for a Cadd9 chord. It only offered two options and neither was the simplest version in the first position built off the open C Major chord. I have also found missing grips for other jazzy type chords under the “CHORD” tab, which I have had to look for by using the chord ”FINDER” tab for grips I have seen other people use that I don’t have a name for. This may seem a petty complaint for such an excellent app, but when nothing else out there in “APPworld” is so concise, comprehensive and easy to use, it would be nice for it to be perfect. ### 3/5 — New Version *2025-01-23, version 7.2.0* Previously used this app quite a bit for teaching and reference when working with modal concepts I liked the older version better it felt easier to navigate especially with alternative tunings. ### 4/5 — Good reference *2025-01-16, version 7.2.0* I really like this app and refer to it all the time. It is very helpful. I have on occasion found that the app doesn’t recognize all versions of a particular cord. ### 3/5 — Chord finder error *2024-12-24, version 7.2.0* This app’s chord finder seems to have trouble seeing some Dominant 7 inversions. The website chords finder version seems way better. Example C7. Also specify the intervals which are part of that scale ### 3/5 — Too Bad it’s not supported *2020-03-21, version 6.0.4* Just got this app, and it is pretty intuitive though it would be great to have a users page that actually answers questions. Like, since the chord finder says it’s in standard tuning and there is an opportunity to change tunings, how do you find chords in different tunings using the chord finder? Why is there no diminished chord in the reference (that’s an easy one to include)? Themes are very ugly. But it is very useful for finding names for some of the interesting chords I come across. So it stays for now. ### 4/5 — Great App *2019-06-03, version 6.0.4* I’ve been using the free version for quite some time and was very very satisfied with that. Then I cut the tip of my index finger off and was looking for greater functionality from the app so I upgraded. Am very pleased. The app provides a wide variety of fingering so I’m able to locate a chord structure I can se without my index finger. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I think there need to be a feature that allows you to keep the app active. I use Nutchords on my PC and is a much better app but apparently not available for iPad. I really like the quiz and the scales and the arpeggios / triads. The only thing I’d like to point out is that in the Chord Finder shell chords are not recognised. I checked and on your website the web version does support it. For example D.E.G# should be E7 and while the web app resolves it the app does not.
