## What is GuitarTech?

Every guitar, amp, pedal, and piece of studio gear you own: cataloged, valued, and gig-ready. GuitarTech is the all-in-one home for your whole rig. Track your gear, see what it is worth, build your board, pack it for the show, bring your songbook on stage, and actually practice.

Built by an indie developer who plays. Private by design: no account required, no ads, no third-party tracking.

YOUR SONGBOOK (STAGE)
- Real chord charts, not text notes: type or paste ChordPro or plain chords-over-lyrics and get a parsed chart with chord diagrams drawn inline
- Transpose in one tap, or set a capo and read the shapes you want while the chart keeps its true key
- Nashville numbers for session-style charts
- Bring your book across: ChordPro, OnSong, and OpenSong files, or a whole exported archive in one tap
- Per-show key, tempo, and arrangement that never touch the master copy
- On stage: a hands-free teleprompter with section jumps and a click that starts with the scroll
- Export a chart, a set sheet, or the whole book as a PDF

GIG-READY
- Upcoming shows with venue search, set times, a countdown, and one-tap directions
- Add a gig to your calendar and let iOS tell you when to leave. The app never asks for your location
- Pack the rig from gear you already own and check off the load-out list piece by piece (Stage)
- Share a flyer for every show, with your own logo and backdrop at the Stage tier
- One upcoming gig free, unlimited with Stage

PRACTICE & PLAY
- Strobe tuner with custom and alternate tunings
- Record yourself with a front camera that counts you in and keeps time
- Chord library, scales, and a full arpeggio reference with CAGED positions up the neck
- Progressions built from the key's own chords, plus borrowed chords and secondary dominants
- A practice hub with metronome, daily drills, streaks, ear training, Programs, and a BPM logbook

CATALOG YOUR GEAR
- Guitars, basses, amps, pedals, studio and recording gear, drums, keys, and live sound
- Smart entry autofills specs from built-in catalogs of thousands of real models
- Add photos with one-tap background-removal cutouts
- Decode serial numbers to estimate the year (major brands)
- Bring your spreadsheet: CSV import is free for everyone

KNOW WHAT IT'S WORTH (STAGE)
- Estimated market ranges for thousands of researched models, beside your replacement values
- Condition history, receipts, and documents on every piece
- A claim-ready PDF schedule of the whole collection, receipts attached

BUILD YOUR RIG
- Pedalboard Builder: lay out your board to scale with a jack-aware patch-cable cut list
- Signal-chain suggestions with reasons, and power supplies that fit your board's draw

KEEP IT PLAYING
- Maintenance and service log with reminders (Player)
- Find your exact string set in the built-in catalog and log every change with one tap
- A string odometer counts real playing hours and tells you when to restring (Player)

FREE, PLAYER, & STAGE
Every new install starts a 14-day free trial of the top tier, no card required.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-08-13

1.5 is the songbook release, and the paid tiers now say what they are for.

PLAYER AND STAGE
Pro is now Player: the practice tier. Gear Aficionado is now Stage: the tier for playing out and for gear worth protecting. Prices have not changed. If you already subscribe, nothing you had has been taken away; existing Pro subscribers keep every feature they bought, including the ones that now live in Stage.

YOUR SONGBOOK
- Songs are real charts now, not text notes. Chords sit over the right syllable, transposition is honest, and chord diagrams are drawn inline.
- Bring your book across: import ChordPro, OnSong, and OpenSong files, or a whole exported archive in one tap. Paste works too, and every file the importer skips is named.
- Capo is a display layer: read the shapes you want while the chart keeps its true key.
- Nashville numbers, arrangements, section jumps, and per-set keys and tempos that never touch the master copy.
- On stage, the teleprompter starts the click with the scroll, and a set sheet or the whole chart book exports as a PDF.

GIGS
- Give a gig an end time and the flyer prints the whole slot. Calendar events now match how long you are actually there.
- Pack the van with the new Load-Out list: tap each piece as it goes in the case and see what is still at home (Stage).
- A new toggle removes the default mark from flyers when no band logo is set, for a clean typographic poster (Stage).

AND ONE MORE THING
CSV import is now free. Bring the spreadsheet you have kept for years and watch it become a real collection.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-06

Fixes the calendar.
• Adding a gig to your calendar no longer creates a second event every time you save the gig. One gig, one event, kept up to date when the show moves.
• Removing a gig from your calendar now actually removes it. So does deleting the gig.
• If an earlier version left you with several copies of the same show, open the gig and tap Remove duplicates. GuitarTech keeps one and clears the rest. Nothing else on your calendar is touched.

GuitarTech now asks for full calendar access. iOS does not let an app change or delete an event without it, not even the ones the app added itself, which is what caused the duplicates. GuitarTech only ever touches the events it created for your own gigs.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-04

GuitarTech 1.4: Gigs, market values, and a new bottom row.

• A new bottom row. Guitars, Amps and Pedals now live together in one Gear tab, which makes room for Practice and Gigs. Nothing was deleted: tap Gear and everything is there
• Gigs. Track your shows with venue search, a countdown, a pack list and a setlist. Add the date to your calendar and iOS tells you when to leave, without the app ever asking for your location
• Pack the rig for any show from gear you already own, and share a flyer with your name on it
• Estimated market values. See what your gear would fetch today, for one piece or the whole collection, built from thousands of researched models (Gear Aficionado)
• Three new gear categories: Drums, Keyboard & Synth, and Live Sound, with over 1,100 new catalog models for smart entry
• Arpeggios. A full reference beside Scales, with CAGED positions across the whole neck (Pro)
• Strings, on the clock. Find your exact set in the new string catalog, log changes with one tap, see how long each set really lasts, and get told when it is time to restring
• All Gear picked up My Order sorting, plus Brand, Model, Year, Category, Condition and Recently Played
• Custom app themes for Gear Aficionado

Rock on

### 1.3 — 2026-08-01

GuitarTech 1.3: Studio & Recording, and a camera that keeps time for you.

• Studio & Recording, a fourth gear category for audio interfaces, microphones, monitors and PA, attenuators, modular/synth and software licenses, with the right fields for each
• All Gear puts every guitar, amp, pedal and studio piece in one searchable, filterable list
• Record yourself playing. The front camera counts you in over three bars, flashes a silent metronome you can actually follow, and can send a click to your headphones for practice or the stage
• Save and share takes straight to Photos or your socials, watermarked "Recorded with GuitarTech". Pro can remove it, and Gear Aficionado can put your own name or band on it
• Progress Clips, now on video (Pro). Record a take against any drill, scale, progression or song, and every take of the same thing lines up so you can watch yourself get better
• Progressions: build changes from the key's own chords, borrowed chords and secondary dominants, then save the result as a song in Songwriter
• Chords up the neck, with alternate shapes along the fretboard and full CAGED coverage for Pro
• A clearer Capo & Transpose. See what you play, where to clamp, and what you actually hear, all on a visual neck map
• Insurance readiness moved onto the gear itself: a "Needs docs" chip on any valued item without a receipt, plus a photo, serial, value and receipt strip on every detail screen
• A rebuilt tempo control everywhere. Drag to fine-tune a single BPM, or tap to jump in fives
• A much more thorough introduction for new players, and a proper What's New for everyone updating

Rock on.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-27

Practice just landed in GuitarTech.

• Skills & Drills — 29 guided practice drills with a built-in metronome, session logging, and per-drill stats. A free drill rotates in daily.
• Programs (Pro) — structured multi-day routines: Alt-Picking Bootcamp, Fretting-Hand Foundations, Rhythm Lock, and the Ten-Day Tune-Up. Complete a day, come back tomorrow.
• The gear catalog more than DOUBLED — now 3,100+ guitars, amps, and pedals with web-verified specs, including beginner gear across every category.
• Gibson Custom Shop, Murphy Lab, and Fender Custom Shop are now their own manufacturers in the catalog.
• Top/soundboard wood is now tracked on guitars — auto-filled for acoustics and carved-top models.
• Acoustic-electric pickup systems (piezo/mic) on the guitar editor.
• Fixed decimal entry in gear spec fields and refined value displays (exact cents where they matter).

Keep the feedback coming — GuitarTech is built by a player, for players.
