## What is Gumdrop?

Gumdrop: Budgeting that Sticks

Connect everything, see everything
Securely link to 12,000+ banks, credit cards, brokerages, and loan servicers through Plaid. On your first connection, Gumdrop pulls 90 days of transaction history so you have context from day one. Add manual accounts for cash, crypto wallets, or anything Plaid doesn't reach. Every connection is strictly read-only. Gumdrop can see your finances but cannot move a dollar, and you can disconnect any institution from Settings with a full data wipe.

Categorization that learns from you
Transactions are auto-categorized using Plaid's classification plus a merchant-keyword engine covering 30+ pattern groups (rent, streaming, coffee, gas, and more). Every time you recategorize a transaction, Gumdrop remembers, so future charges from that merchant land in the right place automatically. A local recurrence scanner catches subscriptions and bills that automated classifiers miss. Transfer detection keeps credit card payments from inflating your spending totals.

Three views of your money on one screen
The Home tab is a horizontal hero of Net Worth, Spending, and Income. Swipe between them, then drill into 1-week, 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, 1-year, or custom ranges. Charts have a tap-to-zoom day view and a donut breakdown on every page. Period-over-period deltas tell you exactly how this month compares ("$540 less than the previous 30 days"), and a calendar heatmap on the Transactions tab shows your daily spending intensity at a glance.

Budgets built around real life
Classify every category as a Need or a Want, with subtotals for each. Set monthly limits, pre-filled from your last month's actual spending, so you start with realistic numbers instead of wishful ones. Build custom categories with custom colors. Over budget at month-end? One-tap Auto-fix scales down your wants and leaves your needs untouched.

Recurring charges, fully under control
Set up rules with weekly, biweekly, monthly, yearly, or custom cadences. Import detected subscriptions and paychecks straight from Plaid with one tap, or add them all at once. The Home tab shows every upcoming charge in the next 7 days, sorted by date, and local push notifications fire 24 hours before each one. Smart deduplication means rent is never counted twice, even when both your manual rule and Plaid pick it up.

Powerful transaction search
Search across merchants, categories, and amounts. Filter by account, category, transaction type, Need vs Want, minimum amount, or recurring-only. Multi-select to bulk recategorize. Swipe to delete. Pull to refresh, which syncs Plaid and reruns categorization in one shot.

Net worth tracking
A single aggregated number across every asset and liability account, plotted on a 6-month line chart with daily snapshots. Toggle to a stacked-bar view to see assets and liabilities side by side.

Share with your household
Invite a partner, spouse, or roommate as admin or view-only. Switch between profiles in Settings. Real email invitations, no SMS or OTP friction.

Private by design
Face ID and Touch ID lock with auto-prompt on resume. A privacy curtain covers the app whenever it's backgrounded, so iOS multitasking snapshots never expose your balances. No data sale. No advertising. All bank connections read-only, always.

Notifications that respect you
Configurable budget alerts at 80% and 100%, large transaction alerts, bill reminders 24 hours out, a weekly summary on the day of your choosing, and bank reconnection prompts when something needs attention. Toggle any category off if it's noise.

Meet Gumi
Your bubblegum-pink money mascot lives quietly inside the app, reacting to over-budget moments, on-track streaks, and savings goals you hit.
