### 5/5 — My favorite mobile game

*2023-12-07*

This game is so well designed to play on the iPhone. I wouldn’t play it on other platforms. Thai game is the best when playing on the train in Japan for a couple of reasons.

This game can be played with only one hand (using your thumb) which is perfect when riding the train. Sometimes the train shakes, so having one hand free to hold on to the railings helps a lot.

This game is turn based, so you can get off the train without interrupting the run. Games like Downwell are fun, but you have to pause them and getting back into the flow is much harder in that game than GunRounds.

Both of these things wouldn’t work if the game was badly designed. Thankfully the game is awesome and does the Downwell but turn based so well, I like it more than the original.

This game has inspired me to try and make games myself, so thank you for making this game!

### 5/5 — So many challenges!

*2022-11-03*

there’s so many challenges and it’s so well made too! there is so much themes as well. i hope this game gets more recognization!!

### 5/5 — Simple and stylish roguelite

*2022-03-13*

Gun Rounds is great. The game is easy to play and feels well designed for mobile. It also has a variety weapons and fun enemies to discover. The blocking can be a bit finicky at times, but there’s a real sense of improvement as you master it. Hope to see more added to the game some day!

### 5/5 — Short, sweet and satisfying.

*2021-10-21*

Little mobile games like this give me hope that there’s a market of folks out there happy to exchange a few bucks to have a some fun with a neat, novel experience.
Thanks for making this game, scratches that roguelike itch real well and fills the free minutes during the day perfectly. Though a good run did make me late out the door this morning 😋

### 5/5 — Great to pass a little bit of time here and there

*2021-10-14*

I love this game! I just wish there could be added weapons or enemies or worlds in future, for players who’ve been playing a while. A great play nonetheless.

### 5/5 — I have a request

*2021-09-13*

Change the hard mode description to “We gave bees satan attacks and made everything do double damage, i swear it’s fair”

10/10 would play again

### 5/5 — Love you

Bro you are the best dev ever because you see your fans as a friends not like any another dev that see his fans like a bag full of money thanks for you plz if you don’t mind your name ❤️

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2021-07-12*

Update: It looks like the 1.0.5.1 update addressed my only concern with this title: the battery and temp on my SE. They are both much more content now, thank you!! Looking forward to the potential Tundra update!

A bite size rogue-lite that scratches the itch when out and about (and has started to consume time at home)

This game is a complete package for me. While there are much more robust titles on the app store I personally prefer something tailored for phones and their mobile short-bursts-of-free-time style and this game checks all the boxes on my list:

- A rogue-lite, replayability
- Played in portrait
- Playable with one hand
- Has turn-based combat...
- ...but also active combat!
- Not too complicated, but makes you think
- Consistent theme and artwork
- Great sound track

How this title manages to fuse turned based combat (imo almost a must for mobile and my lifestyle) with active combat is fantastic. The aiming is similar to a previous iOS Bust-a-Move game and feels very natural while the defensive reaction reminds me of Studio Pixel's Azarashi with a twist- every enemy has different attack patterns so it keeps you on your toes but gives you the opportunity to learn. It's great combination of different mobile friendly concepts in a fresh way and I love having time to think but also a section to then react.

I don't know if the developer ever plans to expand this game in the future or build a successor but it's certainly one I'd keep an eye out for.

My only downside would be power consumption. On a 2020 SE it will warm up a little and take a nice bite out of the charge after 30 minutes of play time. If a "battery-saver" mode or similar were introduced I'd be ecstatic. (See above, this has been fixed as of 1.0.5.1!)

If you enjoy rogue-lites and have a hankering for one on mobile this one is definitely worth trying out for the asking price. One-time purchase mobile apps are becoming more rare and this one will be happily resting next to Downwell on my home screen.

### 5/5 — A short, fun, and challenging game.

*2020-11-16*

This game is very fun. I often find myself playing this game for several runs at a time. The game also has a good challenge level. Sure, normal mode can be very difficult at times, but easy mode is much more relaxed.
Also recently I have come across (in my opinion) a glitch that makes the game have almost no challenge at all on any mode. I got the item “emperor round” and died on one run. The next run I noticed that it seemed like the effects of this item were still in effect. Then I bought the demon skull and bubble shield in the first shop. After this, the enemies started to drop very large amounts of money, usually over 150 per room/level in the coast and over 500 per room in the gehena. When the run was over I finished with over 5800 even after buying all the items in the shop.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review! I'm glad that you've been enjoying the game:) As far as that glitch goes, I'll definitely look into it! Not really sure what's going on there but hopefully it won't be too hard to fix. Thanks for pointing that out to me!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2020-11-13*

Among uninspired profit scheming ad-riddled nonsense this is a treat. Gun Rounds is quite a challenge and the main blocking system has unusual timing but very learnable. The music and aesthetic is fantastic. I honestly didn't expect the fourth world to be so unnerving but it was a pleasant surprise.

This game is clearly a work of love! There are not a massive number of weapons and items but a few dozen is enough to populate the game with some fun synergies and several unique builds. I've also gotten up to 45 different palette swap choices which is a really nice touch.

Currently I've made it to the coast in hard mode with 59 total games. Definitely worth spending a little for a game like this than to suffer through ads for a meager experience. Great job :)

Also the clone's face really matches my aesthetic 11/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.7 — 2021-09-08

A few tiny bug fixes:
-Best time record will now save properly
-Magazine popup displays correctly now
-Contract effect applies to existing enemies when player picks it up (mainly only relevant for shopkeep fight)

### 1.0.6 — 2021-07-16

I found a few more minor bugs, so I fixed them! Here's a list of the fixed bugs/tweaks for those of you that are interested:

-fixed a bug preventing player's stats from saving when beating the boss
-fixed a bug with final boss's hard mode attack if player had Contract item
-Clone Pod will now synergize properly with Asclepius and Totem
-Asclepius + Totem no longer prevents player from dying
-enemy damage popup x values now stay where they should be
-fixed bug where Crank would sometimes not fire in the direction the player originally aimed
-Trick Chest explosions no longer only create 1 hit effect if spawned when no enemies are around
-player turn animation fixed when picking up an item from shopkeep if they didn't also pick up an item in the same turn that they defeated the shopkeep enemy
-critical hit popups are now clamped to stay within view border
-Gun Oil no longer triggers Totem or Bubble (my reasoning being that it's not a full reload, so it doesn't really count)
-Infernal enemy flames are now white if spawned on a dark background
-Beehive initial shot deals 4 damage now instead of 3

### 1.0.5.2 — 2021-07-11

Okay, turns out there was one more tiny bug (Dark Cloak wasn't removed on defeat, so it made the player invincible), lol. Now enjoy a beautiful, bug-free Gun Rounds time!

### 1.0.5.1 — 2021-07-11

There were 2 tiny bugs that I missed in that last update, so I fixed them!

### 1.0.5 — 2021-07-10

This update introduces a huge amount of performance improvements and bug fixes, as well as some balancing tweaks! In a few months I'm hoping on releasing the 2.0 update, which will introduce 4 new worlds, as well as a bunch of new weapons, skills, and a new shop type.

Here are a few of the more significant changes in this update:
-Reduced screenshake for piercing-type projectiles (so things like Beam don't trigger massive amounts of shaking)
-Reworked particle system, so it shouldn't heat up your phone anymore and the game should use less battery
-Asclepius reloads the player's ammo entirely instead of just a portion of it
-Droplet now costs 3 ammo
-Changed how Crank works, so it no longer requires rapid tapping of the screen to use
-Clone Pod now summons an additional familiar
-Critical hits are updated significantly: weapons that fire multiple shots at once will ALL be critical now if a crit is triggered
-Added Italian localization!

Thanks for playing:)
