### 3/5 — Nice App but no bluetooth support

*2023-03-19, version 2.6*

The app is nice and easy to understand and use but has some issues:
1) To stop the timer you have to slide the switch instead of pressing it, you start by pressing the start buttom but have to slide the done buttomto stop it, that is a miss on usability.
2) No bluetooth support, while the iPhone is connected to the Airpods, the app insist on using the phone speaker which is rader weak for a noisy place like a range.
3) In settings the radial dial where you set part time sometimes has something that briefly blinks in front of the screen, it is like a flash, meaning there is some other construct object attached to the action of scrolling the timer dial.
4) even with close proximity like around the head of the shooter, it does not always picks up the shots, it picks mosts but misses some.

### 2/5 — I wanted so much to like it

*2023-02-05, version 2.6*

It seemed to have everything I wanted but the sensitivity at max just would not register shots. It made me real sad. No but like really sad.

### 2/5 — Used to be ok

*2022-07-24, version 2.6*

I used this in the past and thought it was good. Recently took it out and it would either register every slight breeze as a shot or else wouldn’t register an actual shot with the gun 2 inches away. I wish it was easier to reset to the next string, without multiple clicks regarding saving or not saving the data

### 4/5 — Good for phone

*2021-11-17, version 2.6*

Mainly got this for dry fire practice at home. Main things I wanted/like is the delayed start and set a par time. Let’s you react to the beep and then complete your sequence or drill in a par time frame. Would recommend

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-08-01, version 2.6*

I tried it out. It seemed to work for two shot strings. But then the app kept crashing or not recording shots. I gave up after 6-7 tries. Time to delete it!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t pick up shots

*2021-07-14, version 2.6*

Doesn’t pick up shots even at highest sensitivity.

### 1/5 — Don’t get this app

*2021-07-10, version 2.6*

Doesn’t register over half the shots you take

### 1/5 — What good is a shot timer that doesn’t count your shots?

*2021-05-28, version 2.6*

Cool stop watch, but doesn’t register my shots

### 3/5 — No second shot

*2021-03-14, version 2.6*

Ease of use is good. Won’t pick up more than one shot, even when set to the most sensitive setting.

### 1/5 — Does not work for airsoft

*2021-02-28, version 2.6*

I train for 3-gun with airsoft. This timer does not pick up the GBB pistol, even with no other competing noise

### 1/5 — Just can’t get it to work

*2020-12-06, version 2.6*

Only picks up first shot. I’ve tried multiple variations

### 4/5 — The best free shot timer app

*2020-10-26, version 2.6*

Fantastic app this , highly recommend
I have been using with my Co2 Airsoft pistols , and on max sensitivity you have to be close to phone / I have not tried tablets yet.
my only wish is for a Airsoft microphone/shot detection setting .
Also trying to use Bluetooth headset but the app will not use it, this would be great if worked as you could wraparound wrist for better detection and mobility -easy ,
Excellent App well worth it
GET IT!!!:)

### 1/5 — Really awful

*2020-10-21, version 2.6*

This app is almost completely unable to detect shots. The design is also very clunky and ugly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — It used to be awesome.

*2025-06-09, version 2.6*

I got this app a while back in 2012 or 2013 (don’t remember) and it worked perfectly. I used it all the time without issues, recorded first shot and splits perfectly, randomized start and audible tone, worked great.
But a couple years later, it no longer picked up shots. I got excited when I saw them write that they fixed problem with picking up gun shot, but no such luck.
It seems like they abandoned a great app that saved people shelling out a couple hundred bucks on a real shot timer. What a shame such a great app got abandoned.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-04-29, version 2.6*

I have had this shot timer on a old iPhone 7 the app never picked up the shots. I now have it on a 14 pro max with access to microphone enabled still doesn’t work don’t wast your time with this app.

### 1/5 — Can’t detect dry fire

*2023-08-14, version 2.6*

Even with sensitivity at the max it can’t detect dry fire. Garbage app. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Not sensitive enough for 9mm

*2023-07-29, version 2.6*

I couldn’t get this app to reliably record a 9mm from 2’ away! My 22lr from 18 inches didn’t trigger the timer once. Other apps are sensitive enough for my 22lr. Why can’t this one get it?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-03-27, version 2.6*

The audible beep is anemic and needs to be louder. It doesn’t catch all shots, honestly maybe 20% of shots fired are picked up.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-11-14, version 2.6*

Won’t pick up shots on a 9 mm with a iPhone no matter what I do with the sensitivity

### 1/5 — Won’t pick up shots

*2022-08-07, version 2.6*

Deleted the app. Won’t pick up shots. Yes my mic was on.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2022-06-08, version 2.6*

Tried this app on an outdoor range today using a Ruger SR22. Out of 40 shots it recognized 1. This was done with my iPhone 13 Pro Max which was sitting right under the weapon, less than 24 inch away. Guess you get what you pay for.

### 1/5 — Not reliable, don’t use

*2022-05-11, version 2.6*

I could not get this to work reliably on my iPhone S shooting a Glock 19 and being the only shooter on the line. At no sensitivity setting would it up pickup all my shots without also detecting fantom shots.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate

*2022-02-01, version 2.6*

This records the first sound only, which is the holster draw. Never records the actual dry fire shot. Pointless.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Dry Fire Practice

*2023-08-07, version 2.6*

I only use the app for dry fire practice of my draw time to first shot. I set a delay, par time and I’m good to go. At the range I use a dedicated timer. For what I want to do it’s perfect.

### 5/5 — Works well for intended usage

*2021-09-06, version 2.6*

I typically use this for dry fire practice as the volume is easily controlled and it works very well for this. I use a dedicated shot timer for actual range use as it’s easier to hold the timer with the clip than my phone.

### 5/5 — Should be Rated Higher!

*2021-09-06, version 2.6*

This is a great no-nonsense app that I’ve been using to dry fire for the past couple years.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2021-08-23, version 2.6*

I can’t believe this app gets poor reviews. It’s perfect to me. It’s very accurate and sensitive. It can even pick up airsoft guns. Great job.

### 5/5 — Works GREAT for dry fire!!!

*2021-08-07, version 2.6*

Perfect dry fire tool, I have been using this for years now. A little iffy on the range, I wouldn’t recommend it for that (it’s free, you get what you pay for).

But if you really want to get better, this is a perfect little tool for at home. And it’s FREE!

### 5/5 — Worth the Effort

*2021-06-21, version 2.6*

This is an amazing free shot timer. It is simple and easy to use, easy to view, and includes all of the essential components you need including set or random starts, split time recording, saving times and downloading/printing them, set par as an option, built in manual, loud start signal, and sensitivity adjustments. However, there is a “price” to pay - you need to overcome the iPhone microphone settings that can keep the shot from registering. I wish someone who is an expert with iPhones would publish how to set the iPhone up so that it doesn’t block out gunshots. I am working out some crude solutions. One is to plug in lightning wired earplugs - which enables the iPhone to register a shot, but you can’t hear the start signal an have to see the start visually. The second approach is to use a portable conference speaker with a built/in microphone - which kills the free cost aspect unless you have an old Jawbone Jambox or something like that kicking around. If the developers can figure out the best iPhone setting and include that in the instructions - this would be a 10 stars out of 5!

### 5/5 — DQX

*2021-04-13, version 2.6*

Doesn’t work

### 5/5 — Does What It Says

*2020-08-31, version 2.6*

For a free application with no ads attached I have found this app to be quite useful.

### 5/5 — Dry fire perfection

*2020-08-14, version 2.6*

Just rating it as a dry fire timer. This is the only app that got it right.

### 5/5 — Works for my needs with dry fire practice

*2020-06-18, version 2.6*

Free app has par timer and random start delay. Both easy to set and reset. The app has simple instructions. User friendly.

Works great for dry fire practice. Does not pick up the sound of dry firing. Not a problem, the par timer is what I need anyhow.
