### 2/5 — Too Basic for Paid App

*2016-04-12*

This should be a free app until features are more robust. The inability to import photos from the camera roll rather than Live photos only is a no-brainer and indicative of the lack of refinement in the app. The effort was clearly put into the exercise library features more than anything, and that's just not valuable without it functioning as a great shooting log first. No one wants to use one app for exercises and then have to make your detailed log in another app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2020-09-21*

App crashes when you enable Face ID. Also it does not back up to iCloud...or if it does, it won’t restore from iCloud. Either way, the app needs a lot of work.

### 1/5 — Not happy as it’s locked

*2019-08-21*

Just spent an hour inputting list and its locked up in a weird way. Cycling thru the password screen then disappears!

### 1/5 — Not worth it!

*2019-01-20*

Spend the $3 on cheap paper targets, least you will get something out of it! This is a hacked together information that the beginner should already know before touching a firearm! Got few drills, and a place to store all your firearm serial number data, and that’s it!!!!! Disappointed!

**Developer response:** The app is only $1. And it includes many types of drills, several tools (such as shot timer, random target buzzer, etc...), and ability to easily track & catalog your firearm and ammo usage + range time.

### 1/5 — Poor first impression

*2018-01-05*

Entered my first firearm and when I tried to take a pic the app just shut down. Not happy. Feel like I wasted money.
Update. Installed on iPad as well and does same thing. Unable to take pictures.

**Developer response:** Thank you for making us aware. We have fixed this issue with some camera functions in the latest version. Please download the latest version to use "Take Picture" button. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Poor Decision

*2017-04-12*

You wiped out my database without allowing me to decline the update!!! Your decision to completely obliterate the previous database was a very poor choice. Many people choose to allow updates automatically thus , they would have never read your warning! You essentially provided a whole new program...not an update. You should have advertised it as a new program and allowed people to keep the old version if they wished!!!

**Developer response:** This version of the app was built on an entirely system and new DB, and unfortunately the data from the previous version was not correctly moved into the new app. I apologize for this major issue and the trouble it has caused. There was a large warning at the top of the “Update Notes” asking users to back up their data to email before upgrading to this version, but I understand that many users did not see this warning. We are taking strong steps to prevent this going forward.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2017-04-07*

I was Keeping very careful records of my fire arms and range trips without incident. The app updated automatically and all records were lost without warning. Deleted the app and will look elsewhere. I do not recommend it for that reason.

### 2/5 — Poorly designed, not very useful

*2019-01-17*

The app has promise, in theory (hence the two stars instead of one), but looks and feels like a homemade website from the 1990's your teenage nephew made complete with the weird bitmap icons, gaudy color schemes, funky buttons, and awkward multi-color text - i.e. not a professional app. Because of this I have my doubts about the code that underlies this and wouldn't trust it to save my critical data (see all the reviews about user data being deleted without notice with no backup option being available if you don't believe me).

Very clunky, not many features, and has limited useful information. Everything is so manual, too, when entering information. Not a design, layout or feature set you'd expect to find in a modern app - and by modern I mean anytime in the 21st century. The features could be duplicated by a free notepad app or the builtin iOS apps for the most part, and those would be softer on the eyes and easier to use. Would expect this type of stuff from a free app but not one you pay for. Uninstalled after about fifteen minutes of use.

### 2/5 — Love the app but update wiped all all my data

*2017-04-27*

That app I give 5 stars but you could of sent out some sort of notice about update or gave us the option to decline update. It took a long time to get all my inventory and range time up to date and now it's all gone 😡

### 2/5 — Lost data

*2017-04-11*

Clumsy app that was still useful to keep track of range trips and rounds fired on my firearms. Of course that was before the recent app update that deleted all of our records. If you decide to purchase the app, backup/export your data frequently and TURN OFF automatic updates. Better yet, find a different app.

### 2/5 — Improvements needed

*2017-01-10*

Decent app but needs a way to retrieve password if you've forgotten it. Either a hint type system or a retrieval/reset with your email address. Or better yet...enable Touch ID.

**Developer response:** We have added the "Password Hint" in addition to other features.

### 5/5 — GREAT Apps!

*2020-06-13*

I simply want to say THANK YOU.
Your CCW, Posted! & GunVault apps are the best, and hugely useful‼️
Honestly I don’t know how you manage the constant data-pull it must take to stay current with the constant changes state-by-state. The level of detail provided is really impressive.
Big kudos to all of you.

### 5/5 — Chief Instructor - Aim Safe Firearms Training

*2019-03-08*

👌👌👌👌👌~👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks for developing a great Range app and for listening to your app users!!

### 5/5 — Great little app

*2018-12-19*

Great little app, helps me keep track of my ammo use and range trips.
Update request As a UK user it would be nice if I could select the currency for my country, it is only in $ at this time

### 5/5 — Satisfied User - Cajun

*2017-09-02*

Excellent app for keeping track of your firearms and ammo inventory as well as your proficiency trading on those firearms. Excellent tool to provide information from to your insurance company.

### 5/5 — Great App (Version 2.0)

*2017-07-23*

2.0.3 Thank you for the update. Getting better all the time.

7/7/17 - I'm updating my review because the "rounds fired" problem was operator error - in other words, my fault.
Also the developer was quick to respond, answered all my questions and was very helpful.

7/6/17 - I'm giving it 3 stars for now, but hope to change it to 5 after next update.
1) The "rounds fired" button isn't working.
2) Would like to see a maintenance log added.
3) Would also like it to sync between devices. So when I enter data at the range on my phone, it will sync to my iPad.

**Developer response:** To use the "rounds Fired" button, you must first add one or more firearms in the "Firearms" tab. The "rounds fired" dropdown will let you pick from any firearm entered to document which gun(s) you fired and how many rounds on a given trip.
You can sync, although it requires manual steps. Simply "Export" the data from your phone using the "Export" button on the menu, and then "Import" it to your iPad.

### 5/5 — Gun Vault

*2016-02-17*

Very nice app. Simple and all intended functions work as advertised.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t (yet?) do everything promised

*2018-07-26*

Things that comments say it will do, that it doesn’t:
Import data won’t accept the file you exported, in spite of the how-to info. Can’t use the Dashboard, not any of the items. Can only access via the menu at the top corner.

Issues: notes section on license section doesn’t properly accept non-alpha characters. Looks okay until you display it, then the junk shows up.

Suggestions: I have a 2 person shooting household. It would be nice to be able to visually distinguish which permit belongs to whom, and which gun belongs to whom - visible at the top level.

**Developer response:** Please email our support team with the details of the "import" issue you are experiencing, so that we can help you resolve it. Also, can you please let me know what specific problems you are seeing on the Dashboard?

### 3/5 — Good Idea That Needs Refinement

*2016-08-16*

I like the concept of being able to store all the information on my guns in one place. The other features of this app are less useful to me. The photo features are frustrating. First of all, one should be able to import a photo from another location such as the camera role or a photo storage location. Secondly, the app responds in an incorrect and unexpected way when an attempt is made to view a photo when one has not been provided. Instead of indicating that no photo is available, the app shows the last photo viewed. Correcting, just these two items would represent a major improvement in my opinion.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. We have added the ability to import photos and have improved the photo features.
